...Or you could throw some chunks of metal into strong hydrochloric acid and capture the hydrogen coming off it but then  you've got the problem of getting and dealing with lots of hydrochloric acid.  sad ...

Well, anybody who owns or runs a swimming pool has to deal with hydrochloric acid (also known as Muriatic acid) from time to time.  It's amazing how even a single splash the size of a droplet can ruin a brand new pair of jeans.  Yep, you end up with a white dot on your jeans and after 3 washes it becomes a hole.  I don't care if you keep 4 gallons or 400 gallons at home, your handling practices are different only in scope.

Oh and yeah, don't just mix muriatic acid with sodium hypochlorite (also known as liquid chlorine), because that creates mustard gas, which can kill you dead!  You need to treat with liquid chlorine AFTER you have treated with liquid acid, and with a long enough interval for the acid to be well-mixed with the pool water.

Hmmm, maybe that's why I found that little mole floating in my pool...maybe I didn't wait long enough after adding the acid before adding the liquid Chlorine shock?  Poor little bugger was just floating in the pool the next day.  Well, I don't know if I really hit him with mustard gas or not, and certainly I find dead little lizards, frogs, snakes, dragonflies, and rodents several times each year in the pool skimmer basket (even though I have a pool screen!), but whatever got him made him fall into the pool where he just floated around in circles until he expired.  That's very sad, but after more thought, I think it's better than me having to chase him all around inside my house!

Maxthon seems easier to download and install than Maxon.

Complaint: Argh... my camera needs to be repaired.   Well, it has needed to be repaired for at least a year but I just kept putting it off because the problem is intermittant (has a noisy image chip) and I don't take many photos with it anymore (probably because it's brokenfrown)  It's not a cheap camera($$$).  It's small but it's a "Pro" NIkon Coolpix-P5100 and I have triple the money($$$$) tied up in accessories for it.  Full range of lenses(including 183° fisheye), microscope adapter, telescope adapter, remote control, ring light, speed flash, filters, etc. and the modern cameras in the same line don't have all the features that this 10 year old model does, meaning that to continue to take the same type of photos I'd have to switch to a full size pro camera($$$$) and repurchase all those uber-expensive lenses & adapters for the bigger camera ($$$$$)crying.

I checked at the repair page of the Nikon website but they don't list my camera in their dropdown selectionsad.  By entering my camera's serial number I did manage to convince their automated repair estimate algorithm to send me an estimate ($160) and the paperwork to submit my camera for repair.  So, I'll box it and ship it in and see what happens.  If they can't fix it, then at least I tried, and all I lose is shipping costs.  Repair by Nikon is expensive but I trust them.  Five years ago I had my 20 year old previous pro Coolpix995 camera repaired by Nikon and they did a super job on it.  It looked and worked like brand new when it returned.  Even now it still works and takes all the same lenses etc. but the resolution is much less than my 5100 and isn't satisfactory for the quality of images I produce now.

However, the problem with all these electronic cameras with specialty batteries is finding quality replacements for the battery after 20 years.  My 995 has an external power supply that I can useyes, but the 5100 doesn't support external power. no  I've got a 30 year old JVC miniature SuperVHS-C video camera ($$$$) that still works but I haven't been able to find a new battery for it for the last 15 years. (not that I really need it but it pains me to see perfectly good machines made useless)sad

you know how in excel  you drag the plus sign down a column to bring a formula down?

is there a way to drag it down without actually dragging the plus sign?

takes a long time with thousands of rows.

If you are wanting to flash fill next to cells that are already filled (i.e., you have the thousands of rows with something in them in column A and the formula you want to fill in column B), just double click when you get the plus cursor instead of dragging, and it should fill as far as you have data in the adjacent column.

omg  yoo changed my whole work life.  double click the +

Methane.  They belch it from chambers above their stomach and ignite it with flints jammed between their teeth.  Humans do it too but it finds the other exit and we don't have an internal igniter so we have to improvise.

I remember seeing a few diff ideas for that. Dragonology, Animal Planet's "Dragons: A Fantasy made real", Reign of Fire, Dracopedia, and so on had different takes on it. I don't think Monster Hunter bothers explaining it beyond "There's an organ that makes it", no real need to explain it there since there's no reason to. Probably magic or something, would explain a lot of the other bizarre things they get up to. I kinda liked Dracopedia's take on things, since it assumed that magic didn't exist, and tended to avoid making use of oddball and borderline unbelievable explanations for its take on our dragon-filled world. Downside is dragons can't talk and stuff, but hey - drakes pulling cannons in the American Civil War, and wyverny dragons replacing fighter planes in World War 1 xD

Fire-breathing's overrated anyway - thunder breath's where it's at!  Das why  shockodile is the best kind of reptile. Zap zap shockers on the back, electrical thunder breath zap,  zap zap zap!   Ice breath can be kinda cool too though. No pun intended.

Non-complaint:  I had to make an unscheduled trip uptown today.  Had my currently favorite cheap lunch (two kraut dogs), used up my coupon for a half-dozen donuts at TimHortons, and on the way back the radio was playing Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini" with pianist Andrei Gavrilov.  Killer performance! yes

    Music to DAZ by:

Sergei Rachmaninoff: "Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzkPNVGFmxg  A set of 24 variations on a theme by Niccolo Paganini 80 years earlier.  Each variation is in a significantly different style than the previous but you can learn to hear the basic thread of the theme in each variation.  Except for the 18th variation (@ 14:28) which is "upside down" as explained in the quote from Wikipedia below:  This 18th variation should be quite familiar to many of you as it has made its way into popular music.  The final variation #24 (@ 20:20) is typical Rachmaninoff "finale fury". (i.e. jump up and cheer time when he finishes)

Wikipedia:The slow eighteenth variation  is by far the best known, and it is often included on classical music compilations without the rest of the work. It is based on an inversion of the melody of Paganini's theme. In other words, the A minor Paganini theme is literally played "upside down" in D♭ major, with a few other changes. Rachmaninoff himself recognized the appeal of this variation, saying "This one, is for my agent."[4]

The 24th and last variation of the Rhapsody presents considerable technical difficulty for the pianist, and shortly before the Rhapsody's world première performance, Rachmaninoff confessed trepidation over his ability to play it. Upon the suggestion of his friend Benno Moiseiwitsch, Rachmaninoff broke his usual rule against drinking alcohol and had a glass of crème de menthe to steady his nerves. His performance was a spectacular success, and prior to every subsequent performance of the Rhapsody, he drank crème de menthe. This led to Rachmaninoff nicknaming the twenty-fourth the "Crème de Menthe Variation".[6]

I don't know how much longer Daz plans to support Genesis 8, but for $24 total for the base morphs for male and female figures I cannot resist the urge to give G8 a shot. The expression morphs are better than G2. Eye geometry seems better too. That sale is too good, and I am weak.

Only the impure stuff with various intestinal sulfur compounds in it.  Because according to Wikipedia "At room temperature and standard pressure, methane is a colorless, odorless gas"

And how do we know that?  Fire needs oxygen.  There is no oxygen in space.  If you are looking at the Sun, that is not fire.  That is fusion, a chemical reaction, not fire.  Fire is oxidation...needs oxygen.  There are various chemical reactions that may mimic fire, may cause fire, but are not fire in themselves.

I am so pissed. Got my Falcon machine returned for the fourth time. This is a 10k machine, damaged in transit twice.

Lesson 1: Never buy a custom built machine that needs to be shipped from out of state. I did and it's my 4th return.

Lesson 2. Never buy a custom built machine that has to be shipped from anywhere.

Lesson 3. Buy a custom built from a local company. I did and it works great.

Edit but just today I got my 10K pc back in a damaged box and had to trouble shoot for two hours. I said I'm sorry but consumer affairs is my next best option. They said you might be wasting your time. I said two years ago when my mortgage company did not honor my modification and owed me 8K consumer affairs made it an 57K adjustment. He said I'll call you tomorrow. Truth is tomorrow is too late because sometimes tommorrow never comes..

    Fusion is a nuclear reaction.

Fire is a high speed oxidizing chemical reaction.

Chemical reactions involve only the shell of electrons of an atom.  Nuclear reactions involve the nucleus(protons & neutrons) inside the shell of electrons of the atoms.

Wikipedia says: "Fire is the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products. Slower oxidative processes like rusting or digestion are not included by this definition."
