Nor me. Not one I want to adopt.

  • Well, I was hoping for a release today, but this one definitely took me by surprise. I know many people have been itching for new babies for quite some time.

Not sure what I think yet, but definitely intrigued.

Realistic  babies would be a much better surprise. I had kids and grandkids. These kids lack realism.

Hi Cris, it looks like there might be an issue with the pricing on the "Baby Accessories": https://www.daz3d.com/baby-accessories-for-genesis-8

I'm guessing the price isn't mean to be $134.95 :)

    DAZ adults are realistic cheeky?

I giggled at the "newborn" description. I mean, I've had newborns. These ain't. LOL. Maybe 8 months to a year? Not sure what I think of them yet...too much "jaw" maybe ;). But Redz and VirtualWorld's kids are cute.

Well, these babies look too old. They don't have real baby faces, more like they are about 5-8 years old. But let's wait. sometimes the PA characters for a new figure turn out much more realistic than the basic figure.. Ella https://www.daz3d.com/ella-for-caryn-8 looks promising. Upper lip is a bit off, but the proportions of the face are much better than Caryn. Arms and legs might be a slight bit off, too, in length and thickness, but if I remember right, these can be adapted by the user.

I don't have any use for figures like this right now so my budget's too tight to spring for them, but I love that they're doing stuff like this to expand the flexibility of G8. The Small World kids and hair are especially cute, props to RedzStudio!

Well that's enough DAZ for me for this week. Or month, probably.

Yes they are. Espeically the women.

Well, I don't need Babies in DAZ, but I like it that DAZ makes such a product.

But apart from not needing it, the folds in the legs and arms looks terrible.

not babies .... not cute .... oh well ...

Well, I'd rather have seen some official teen/tween young male bases and late elementary school aged kids of b0oth genders first.  Growing Up is great, but most of the age appropriate clothing is still from the V3 and V4 generations.  I guess it's nice that they've finally adressed that nitch for those that wanted it, though, honestly, I've found that the Genesis baby still works just fine when modern shaders are applied.  And the addition of the second Nurse's station in just a few weeks seems kind of odd as a tie in, given the lack of an actuall maternity ward.

Not jumping on this one just yet, as the only sculpt that I really like is Virtual World's Ella, and the bundle deals are really wonky.  Buy 11 items to get 30% discount off non DAZ items?  Really? .

Definitely not for me.  Too many things are off about the figures - the legs look like inflatable plastic that neds a bit more air, the jaws look too wide and the skins look too plastic-like.  Some of the PA figures are better, but still not quite there.  The only use that I can see for them personally would be for "creepy baby halloween" images.

That said, if other people like them, then I look forward to seeing what they can do with them and hope that there are some renders posted here to prove me wrong in all of the above.

"Caryn is a cute newborn baby character for Genesis 8 Female" Erm, that is so not a newborn. Mrs Chow and Mr Woo were so fantastically realistic. But the babies are really not.

I really wanted to adopt a child. But given the choices I've decided to adopt a dog from the shelter.

Edit. Yes I feel strong negative emotions to these children. Please forgive me.

But I can't wait to see the first renders from someone who decides to mix the morphs for Chow, Woo and the new babies.  :)

The Genesis Baby is no longer available though, so that is one of the reasons people have been asking for a new one.

Maybe we can dial in their wrinkles

    ...still waiting for Cat 8.

  • Hmm, don't need babies. But as those figures seem to be based on G8F/G8M I wonder if one could dial them in parts to modify other figures getting some baby aliens for example. Anybody tried already?
