Ohhh!
12 inches, compacted to 8" plus rain. You have a case of what I call "Lake Effect Crisco". It's a toss up between what you break first, your back or your shovel.
Or in your case, your composure or your snowblower.
frozen rain falling puffs from a leaden sky.
Complaint: Weather looks rainy but tolerable for my Friday morning mini-adventure to Buffalo for the symphony. Yay! Unfortunately I've made an appointment today (Tuesday) with my car mechanic to fix my windshield wiper motor's insanity but right now there is liquid ice falling from the sky. Not snow, not sleet, not oobleck, but liquid ice. Tiny misty drops that turn to glare ice the moment they hit the ground. Already today I've seen two amblances go by the house to some situation or other. Fortunately though, my mechanic is only two blocks away from here. All I have to do is scrape the ice from my porch and steps, walk up the inclined driveway to the car, scrape the ice from the door and windows, get the car down the declining driveway, avoid sliding it into the road, drive to the auto shop, and walk back all without sliding the car into a ditch or myself slipping on the ice walking home up the incline of the driveway and into my door.
Appointment isn't until 2:00 PM so perhaps it will warm up just enough...
Ate an early lunch. I am feeling better than last night.
edit wrong word.
Non-complaint: I bundled up against the cold and rain (yes, it had warmed up a little) and chiped the ice from my porch, steps, and car. Loaded my two bags of ripening garbage into the trunk (boot) and headed for the garbage transfer station for my usual Tuesday uptown chores. But my windshield wipers were behaving particularly insane today and failed to keep my windshield free of rain enough to safely drive. So, within the first mile I came to a country intersection and started to slow down to turn around. My anti-lock brakes chattered as I started to skid into the ditch but I got stopped in the intersection and did get turned around headed back into my town. I drove straight to the car mechanic and left my car for its repairs. On my way walking home I was passed by a car (probably not going any faster than 30 MPH) and watched it skid off the road ahead of me, narrowly missing a tree, running over a mailbox, beheading it and coming to a stop in a beautiful (in the summer) circular lawn garden surrounded by rocks and populated by garden gnomes. No ambulance was called for the car driver or the gnomes but the garden and a wide swath of the soft mud of the lawn are in critical condition. I'm not complaining because I had the wisdom to abort my 20 mile drive in this weather and the good luck to not have walked just a teensy bit faster and ended up under a car, and bespiked by a gnome.
I hope the car mechanic enjoys the two bags of ripening garbage in my trunk.
$3 and $3.50 is not the same. Wallflower refills at bath and body works was $3.50 and I had only 11 dollars. So I could only get 3 instead of 4. Well 3 is better than none. Ladies bought them in store so no shipping and handling cost.
Brr
Was stuck at a doctor’s office for over two hours for a housemate’s appointment. Glad I am home now.

Good to hear!
I just realized that I am using Daz Studio 4.10.0.107 from 2017. I should download the latest version of Daz Studio.
...yeah "glare ice" is what we called it in Wisconsin as well. When I first moved out here and used the term, people would look at me as if I were daft or something then try to correct me. Here in the Northwest they apparently call it: "black ice"
....well more icy cold rain today but at lest it isn't freezing when it hits the ground. In the western Columbia Gorge the situation is a bit different with snow and freezing rain there.
Going to get a one day break from all the wet tomorrow then back to cold rain again. At least no frozen water from the sky.
Ugh getting a pesky advert pop up with the spell checker service here every time I select a typo to be corrected. Keeps asking if I want to upgrade. They should be pestering Daz, not us as it is only for cloud or server based licences..
..bugger, Weekly PC+ Freebie is for G8 only. Most PC+ items as well except for a new Jack Tomalin one.
dForce items should usually be usable on older figures via a play-range simulation.
I missed the sale on the dog props by not checking out in time. Oh Bummer.

oscar hotel gulf, gonna be 55 next week >.<
That's what we call it in New England, too! It can look like the street is just wet, but it's a sheet of thin, but dangerous, ice.

"Black ice" didn't come into my vocabulary until probably after I started driving in different states. Until then it had always been "glare ice". The ice has now been covered with icy granules and provide enough traction to walk upon but still forms a thick slippery slush when mixed with road salt.
The only accidents I've ever had while driving have been on "black ice". Once on my way back to college, and once when hurrying north from Washington, DC because my mother was dying. Neither incident resulted in injuries but only by luck.
Speaking of "luck". Mine appears to have run out regarding my car's windshield wiper system. All possible simple causes have been tried now. The only recourse open is to obtain a complete turnsignal/wiper control lever and accompanying cable. Which would only be about $100 for a standard "2003 Buick LeSabre". But since I have the "2003 Buick LeSabre Custom" the price is $400.

Add that to labor costs and I can wave good-bye to getting ahead of my budget again for another few months of budget watching. But because of nearly non-existent public transportation in this area I have to have a car. Or at least I have to get this one fixed before I can even consider using it as a trade-in or for sale for any price. Of course this has to happen now, because just one week from now (next wednesday) when I get my Social Security payment I would have finally been exactly on budget for the first time in 10 months.
I'm sure it's one of Murphy's Laws.
And to top it off, the weather is making a mockery of the weather forecasters and it looks like rain/ice/snow for a Friday morning trip to Buffalo. So, I guess the only fortunate thing out of this situation is that I haven't bought my symphony ticket yet. (yay!)
..old system, dForce takes too much in resources. I don't even use HD morphs because they slow things down.
...another ploy just to squeeze more money out of people. The standard system probably would work just fine. Sort of the same reasoning the coffee cup you see in the local Target store costs 8 - 10$ but for the Air force it's 1,300$.
As to transportation, yeah that is why I endure the higher rent in the city and the impatient nincompoos in the neighbourhood behind the wheels of their Mercedes, Lexii (what is the plural of Lexus?), Porsches, BMWs, Teslas, and Escalades, along with the ankle-biters people walk around here that try and get underfoot while yapping incessantly. If I had a car I'd be a "65 year old single parent" having to baby it and pay for it's upkeep along with mine. Actually it's a decent trade off, as the price of insurance alone (not to mention all the other costs associated with being owned by a car) would be more than any savings I'd get in rent as even out in the sticks, rents are getting out of hand here.
...dry here today, but then the wet stiff returns through Sunday, though will be 50° on Friday. East county still getting freezing rain and snow.
snow cones!
Tired but good.

can that morph masking be precise? for example make the morph affect only the toenail beds?

Complaint: It's official, my car will not be ready for tomorrow's long anticipated mini-adventure to the symphony.
HOWEVER, the weather has turned nasty and the trip to Buffalo is a no-go anyway because I don't drive in risky weather anymore. And it's all for the best because after paying for getting my car fixed, I can't justify a $100 mini-adventure, anyway.
Thankfully, I didn't buy my ticket ahead of time.
Guess, I'll just have to have a "4 for $4" lunch at Wendy's next week and call it a $4 micro-adventure.
Given Buffalo's reputation for nasty winters, I really don't understand why Buffalo's concert season is in the dead of winter. It should peak in April, not February.
Haven't they ever noticed that seats go unsold when there's ice and snow on the roads?
Buffalo's average snowfall is 93 inches. Moscow's is 60 inches.
My computer is not seeing the internet because it does not see The WiFi. I am trying to restart the computer to see if that fixes it.
