...Oregon Megabucks up to 8.1$ million (2.91$ million [after taxes] if I took the cash out option).  That would set me for life and help me get through the next recession.

I was told to schedule rides for Saturday and Sunday but was told to do so then minutes after the ride place closed for the day.  Even if I leave a message to set up rides it will be ignored.

On other news I figured out the internet problem for computer.  It was not the computer but the wireless router.  The iPad is on one frequency but the notebook was on the other. The WiFi for the notebook was not showing on my iPad so I turned off just that frequency and turned it back on and now it works.

Arghhh... Just noticed another thread title in the forums that has fallen victim to one of the "ough" words.  The slang word for money "dough" being spelled as "doe".  I know I complain about dreaded "ough" words but I would have thought that the word for the uncooked pre-bread mass called "dough" was inspiration for the slang word for money and should rightfully be its spelling.  There is already a good use for the word "doe" as in "doe, a deer, a female deer".  Whereas I still contend that my justification for the word "plow" instead of "plough" is valid because it was a hitherto unused word.  devil  Because everytime I see that farming implement spelled as "plough" I want to pronounce it by twisting my tongue upside down and hacking up a furball. frown

...you really need to talk to someone in your city, county, or state human services department.  This abusive situation has been going on far too long.  A group home is supposed to be supportive and helpful.  From what I have read here, this one is totally the opposite.

    Wow, 88° in Austin.

  • Non-complaint:  I have my car back.  (YAY!)  The entire windshield wiper mechanism has been replaced, new steering column lever, wiring harness, and wiper motor.  Same old wiper blades though.  But they weren't that old anyway.  smiley  And so far, (knock on wood) it looks like the wiper's insanity has been cured.

    Complaint:  About $550 total. sad

Non-complaint:  It could have been worse.  The wiper motor itself was under warrantee from the last time it was replaced so there was no charge for new wiper motor or its replacement labor. yes

Complaint:  I didn't get to go to the symphony.  But I saved money by not having bought the tickets.

...hooray for small victories.  Disappointing you couldn't go to the Symphony.

550$ would leave me with no funds for the month after rent. .

550 would put me into negative after rent and other bills.  That is why I do not have a car.

I paid with credit card so I'll have to watch my spending like a hawk for 3 months to get back on budget and not end up paying gobs of interest..  At least the $100 cash I was prepared to spend on the symphony mini-adventure (ticket, gas, snacks, good lunch) ended up bringing my debt down to only $450

....ahh, don't have one of those. Had a little student loan trouble in the past so don't think I'd qualify for one anyway.

Amtrak keeps trying to sell me on one but the fees are ridiculous if you miss a payment. Crikey a round trip ticket to Milwaukee (1,600$ with sleeper accommodations and that is even with my AARP Senior discount) would take me more than 8 months to repay.

...heard the other day one of Portland OR's Icons the Bridgeport Brewery, will be closing it's doors next month.  Bridgeport launched became the era of craft brewing 35 years ago with their Blue Heron Pale Ale (no longer made) and IPA which started Portland on the way to becoming what many refer to as "Beervana", the new "beer capital" of the nation (apologies, old hometown of Milwaukee WI). They were one of the first to brew handcrafted British style ales like IPAs, Pales, and Porters here in the states. Their location (not far from where i live) was once an old rope making factory which is is on the Historic Register, which between it and what was the company's warehouse the alleyway is a trestle about three floors up for shuttling product between the buildings.  When I used to work in the area years ago, Bridgeport was the place to get a couple slices pizza or a sandwich for lunch, and return to after work for a couple pints of their famous ales served in traditional imperial pint glasses.  Bridgeport was also the first to introduce cask conditioned ales that were hand drawn using traditional beer engines instead of CO₂. as well as using NO₂ taps for their stouts, porters, and creme ales.   Sadly what they started sort of became their demise as so many new breweries and brew pubs have sprung up to the point they are threatening Starbucks for the most locations (well not really but it sort of feels that way). Even breweries from other towns like Rogue, Pyramid, and Deschutes have opened ale houses and brewing operations in Portland.

During their three and a half decades in business, Bridgeport expanded their operations taking over the entire block and remodelling the interior of their central location to a more "upscale" look (somewhat to the dismay of those who loved the old  wood beam "warehouse" interior [such as myself]) and opening an alehouse on Hawthorne in inner Southeast Portland (which closed after only a few years due to low sales). Apparently the reasoning given by the owners is that younger people are drawn more to the smaller boutique breweries which have sprung up around the city rather than the larger older ones, which some see are not much different than the big national breweries (even though they still produce a much superior product).  Another reason that I see is simple over saturation (pun not intended) of the local market (within a 5 mile radius there are something like two dozen breweries, many clustered in the inner environs of the city some only a few blocks from others)  A few others have come and gone with time, but Bridgeport being an icon in the city if not the state, a pioneer in craft brewing, made the announcement something of a surprise.  Disappointing, as they also had an incredible happy hour where you could get a hand tossed crust 12" sausage and onion pizza for 6$.(pretty much the cost for a "frozen cardboard biscuit" pizza for the in the store today).

So on March 10th, the place where the brewing revolution all began thirty five years ago, will be no more. Need to stop by there beforehand maybe get a couple bottles of their "infamous" Old Knucklehead (a barelywine aged in wine casks that is around 10%).  They will be sadly missed when they are gone.

The trick is to keep them paid off.  If you're selective and get one that doesn't charge a flat monthy fee on top of interest and keep it paid off you can avoid interest.  But letting them get out of control can be painful.

I keep a spreadsheet that identifies all my line items and category expenses, and provides a bottom line summary of my current checking account balance, savings account balance, credit card balance, and what my checking account balance would be IF I were to pay off my credit card(s) completely.  It keeps me sober.  I try to keep it out of the red.  That's when I know I'm within budget.  For example:  here's the bottom right corner of my spreadsheet for this February.  It it weren't for the car repairs I would have been OK but now I'm about $450 in the red.  I can save about $250/month without having to eat dandelion soup every meal so it will take me about 2 months to recoup that debt.  But at least I know how bad the situation is.  I actually have enough in savings to pay it all off immediately and that's probably what I'll do but I let that big red number stare me in the face for a while to remind me that I have to be extra vigilent to keep putting back into savings and not squander it on DAZ or on-line auctions.

...yeah, that is the other situation, I don't have any savings.  What I get on SS pretty covers my expenses for the month and that is it.  What savings I did have was gone in about a month after my UC gave out in 2014.  If they would reopen Section 8 certification (been closed since August 2016) I could get further assistance on my rent to knock it down to the 28 - 30% of my benefit I which should be paying.  Then I'd have a little to sock away each month.

I want to do a quick test render of V4 Elite Reby Sky before I backup my runtime library.  Unfortunately, I can't find her icon in the content library.  The search function did not find the icon either.  I guess I need to download the zip file and then look for the .pz2 and Daz Studio script files.

    edit: I meant pz2, not cr2.

I wonder if the content database server is having issues.  I'm going to reboot the computer.  Hopefully I won't need to reinstall Daz Studio and Daz Install manager.

Well, maybe he hasn't posted here lately but if you click on his name it shows he was last active at 7;21 am today. So, probably no need to worry.
