  • I haven't seen Infinity War yet, and I refuse to read anything concerning it 'cos I don't want to see spoilers, but I'm under the impression things don't go well for our heroes.  I'm also under the impression that most, if not all, questions about the ending will be answered (or at least addressed) in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.  I saw my first Captain Marvel trailer the other day on Nothing But Trailers and then had to explain to my wife why I was so excited about a movie that's not even in theaters yet.  I don't recall any Avenger cameos in Black Panther.  Then again, I did spend a lot of the movie explaining things to my wife and grandson.  Plus side is that it's good enough to watch over and over.  Falcon makes an appearance in Ant-Man, and Scott fanboys all over him.before kicking his butt.  Ant-Man is mostly a tongue-in-cheek movie, but it's not over-the-top and doesn't feel forced like in Thor: Ragnarok.  And both Ant-Man and Panther appear in Captain America: Civil War which features the other side of Ant-Man's abilities with Giant-Man's debut.

I was so surprised by the over-the-top silliness of Ragnarok that I ended up suspending all comparison and judgment and just took it on its own merits, which I saw as: The revelation of quirky badassness that is Valkyrie, the kitschy villiany and makeup/outfit of Hela, and Jeff Goldblum playing himself (his usual role) to the hilt. It was like I went to the cinema expecting Batman with Christian Bale and got Adam West instead. I couldn't be mad.

I tried that also....didn't work for me. I liked the scenes with Hela and Valkyrie was cool, but didn't much like the scenes on Sakaar and the over the top attempts at humor, not to mention Thor with short hair and one eye, LOL.. I usually rewatch movies I really like and most of the marvel movies have been watched numerous times. This one was once and I tried a second time, but couldn't get into it.

I was truly surprised at how popular and successful it was when released and there are rumors that if they do a Thor 4 even though Chris's contract is up, it will probably be the same director and go the same path which sucks for me.

Even though I wasn't a big fan of Captain Marvel growing up, I'm still interested in seeing it based on the plot and previews so far.

No one was a big fan of Captain Marvel. Maybe the movie will create a market for itself. Or if its required viewing for the Avengers End Game.

Black Panther is probably the hardest of the Marvel movies to find.  My wife finally found a copy at one of our local Wal-Marts...and it was the last one they had.  Then again, these were the same people that told me Moana wasn't out yet two months after it dropped on BluRay/DVD.

Just checked Amazon and it was showing one new BluRay and like 34 new and used DVDs.  Guess what I'm saying is it goes in and out of stock pretty quick.

Amazon has taken to pushing streaming version of TV & movies rather then the DVDs & BRs; just click on the right menu that filters for DVD or BR only and leaves out the streaming. Many 'used' books, DVDs, & BRs are actually 'returned new' stock that never got sold. The two books I got from Amazon this week were like that. Sometimes though there are used shops that are hoarders that try to sell common place items at prices as if they are rare collectables but they ain't so you have to watch for that and those decimal points.

  • Carol Danvers?  I thought Danvers was the sister of Supergirl.

Ah, the confusingly similar sounding 'Kara Danvers' (Supergirl - not 'Linda' like she used to be) and her sister Alex Danvers - in the current TV show at any rate.

  • Carol Danvers, aka Binary aka Ms Marvel aka Carol Danvers Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. long predates Supergirl's present secret identity. When she was created Supergirl's secret identity was, IIRC, Linda Lee (continuing the bizarre penchant for all of Superman's supporting cast having the initials LL).

Actually (ghod I love the Internet), Linda Lee was adopted by the Danvers family in 1961, well before Carol Danvers came along in 1968 or so.  She went by 'Linda Lee Danvers', not 'Linda Danvers' at that point.

  • Really? I'll have to dig through my Legion collection. To the best of my knowledge Supergirl wasn't being printed much of anywhere in the 60's and early 70's but LSH.

  • Will there ever be a Kamala Khan hero costume?
