Could swear she looks like a younger Michelle Yeoh in some promo shots.
I was in the same situation and got the 6 Pro bundle free without the 7 pro bundle.
Here's my post in my Art Studio thread showing more of Hyorin, Helena Hair, and Toxophilite Outfit (and Textures) if anyone wants to see what she looks like. That is from characters in Content Library though, so I think that is with the Mei Lin applied. That hair is GORGEOUS.

Well, as I thought, Mei Lin 7 seems really very well.. huh.. MORE CRAFTED than Mei Lin 8..
Or it's really a question of lights/settings you used and that was different from a render to the other render you made?
That's said, I like to get my hand on ALL characters, for the game which I work on, so.. perhaps one day (during sale/that sale) I will eventually purchase ONLY the base figure of Mei Lin 8.
But before, I must do some tests to see how Mei Lin 8 can be reproduced on Genesis 8 Female (eventually) with the huge amounts of morphs (asian ones) I have in my Content Library and then apply the Mei Lin 7 texture on it !
It seems also many people love those freckles Mei Lin 8 has..
But, people, hold on, don't you know that you can edit the texture of any characters and add your beloved freckles on it ?
I mean: NOT FOR REDISTRIBUTIONS (of course due to how license works), but for renders it will be all ok!
(this is said, do it yourself for renders still images/animations for your arts, and you will be able to reproduce thoses freckles).
Apart of that freckles, the younger attributes (meaning: morphology/appearance in global way) are .. not really what I'd expected after we got Mei Lin 7 (stunning textures/figures/sculpting!).. And I read above some sentences about "Meh Lin 8"...

As for finish take what I said like that: Mei Lin 8 is an indeed interesting new base model for Genesis 8 Females flows, but... it's definitively not really a Mei Lin serie, it's more a stunning Asian Female which has be the small sister of Mei Lin 7 (perhaps, in all of case, you know you can reduce models scale for youngerifying your beloved 3D G8F characters (.. And all other models aswell too lol).
Have a fun read of what I said, and I want your feedbacks on what I said, please, so, don't be shy, write and renders your true Mei Lin female !

AFAIR they said that it actually is a very difficult bug to fix because of the way the store works. Which probably means they'll have to rewrite and debug a lot of code.
Unless the offer is different for people who have Meil Lin 7 pro bundle already, the offer requires the 8 Pro bundle plus two debut new items.

Next to Mei Lin 7, poor Mei Lin 8 looks like she flunked out of photorealism school and decided to pursue a degree in game engine. Of course, some people prefer their women with a slightly synthetic quality. To each his/her own.

WOW! I never would have thought that those were the same outfit going on the promotional pictures from the Silent Assassin promotions.. You have to go all the way to the last two smaller pictures to find the the one where her legs are covered in purple.. Shame to because that actually is the best part of that outfit and you would never have guessed they were the same ones.
They need to work on marketing...
Oh, they spend plenty of time on marketing. The problem is that what DAZ's marketers think is attractive to prospective customers doesn't necessarily match up with what a lot of us want, and they're so caught up in making "pretty images" that it can be hard to tell what the product actually looks like or contains.
I picked up the Mei Lin 8 Pro Bundle yesterday but didn't get a chance to do any renders with her until this morning. I stopped the render early so there is a little bit of grain. The hair is Layered Fringe Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s), which is also in the bundle.

That's what I thought! Michelle Yeoh is fantastic, and maybe this is the reason why Mei Lin 8 is my favourite of the three! ;-)
Its more complicated than that, because you also have to by the Mei Lin pro bundle, plus any add-ons and the 1.59/2.59 extras in the same cart, and these items could not be purchased using store credit, and thus be "discounted" by what you paid for the store credit in the first place. My last set of store credit was also 20% off, so if I was to buy Mei Lin pro, and say $20 dollars extra stuff, then the real dollar price would be around $50 dollars instead of the $62 I have to pay since she is in the same cart as a gift card. As such you would need a gift card of at least 100-120 to be better off than a straight discount on Mei Lin.
Since I currently have a fair bit of store credit, I am not that interested in another gift card, so would have preferred the discount on the bundle, but I can see that would not be the case for everyone.
My "because you already own a Mei Lin Pro Bumdle" discount worked with only the Mei Lin 8 pro bundle, you don't need any of the add-ons (you do need to get any of the free, or heavily discounted, items at the same time though).
Indeed you are correct, it was the 1.59/2.59 items I was mostly thinking about since they have to go into the same cart. Even if you don't want any of the discounted items the pro bundle is still $42, which means you are sort of losing $8 for not buying with store credit.
I tend to try to minimize whatever I buy along with a gift card, for this very reason. It is unusual that we have to buy a pro bundle to trigger a gift card discount.
Edit: Actually you do need the extra 2 items in the cart if you only own one of the older Mei Lin bundles.
My first render of Mei Lin 8.
Apart from the HDRI everything here is from the Pro Bundle with the HD add on as well. I have modified the surface settings for the figure a little, and the only post-work was fixing some un-rendered black pixels, not sure what happened there.
I tell you, with a pending trip to Nasvhille to record my record, I didn't NEED to spend this money. But, with taking advantage of the 8 for 1 and the pro bundle deals, geez, that's like $500 + of items for less than $65. Argggghhhh! Couldn't pass it up. Very nice set of items for the pro bundle as well.
I love this character! The P3D Mei Lin 8 Morphs add-on has what is essentially a dead ringer morph for Lucy Liu. I made a little Kill Bill Tribute to her O-Ren Ishii role.
Wish I waited until today to get Mei Lin 8 pro bundle. Could have gotten Mei Lin 6 and 7 pro bundles for free :(

They were free yesterday as well. Today you need to buy other stuff along with it, as well, so overall, it was a lot cheaper yesterday.
Tell customer support that you forgot to add them to the cart yesterday.
That's all summarized for her textures, I think Mei Lin 7 was clearly much crafted with details in mind!
Anyway, @RobotHeadArt, can you render the back of these two ladies (front is often the first things we can see in a render, but, what about the backs ??)

Already have Mei Lin 7, and never use Genesis 2, so I wasn't particularly worried.
Now try Mei Lin 8 with Mei Lin 7 textures... ;)

I'm not getting Mei Lin 8 due to severe cash flow issues and cancelling my PC the other day. So which one of the side by sides is the new 8 figure, and which is the 7?
I have both Mei Lin 6 and 7 Pro Bundles but haven't used either of them for a few years.
Curious what I'm missing by not getting 8.
