Although to be perfectly honest, other than him, his hair, and the supersuit thing, the rest is ok. I like his clothes, esp the espionage outfit, and I kind of like Garen since he seems to be a regular guy. Don't tell another living soul I like some Scott 6 stuff!! 
I'm a little dissapointed in Mai Lin's bundle, mostly the clothes per usual. Debating about get the pro bundle or just her base so I can save for Lee 8. The scifi flashsale isn't making this desicion any easier.

Think of it this way, there will always be another sale. If there is something you like, wishlist it and it will almost certainly be on sale again later, possibly at an even steeper discount. And use the Daz deals app to get notified so you don't miss it when you are better able to buy it.
So you really shouldn't feel any pressure to buy.
Agreed. It's what i do and with the deal timeline from the deals addon I also get to see how many times and how low an addon has been in the past to help with decision making. Although, sometimes you can wait to long and then there is something better or you have no use for it then. I remember wishlisting a character I really wanted for GF3, but it was connect only so I waited, and I waited and a year later when it was no longer connect, I had no interest any longer.

The day Mei Lin was released, the usual Pro Bundle PA suspects' stores were on 40-60% discount. Since they also do a lot of Daz Originals, this was combined with the PC+ discount for a total of 80% off! This meant PC+ prices for current generation Daz Originals, and that does not happen very often.

does she have separate sliders for morph only and morph with scaling?
is a deal breaker for me when they cludge it into only 1 slider.
does she have elbow jcm for base subd level?

A ton of truths have been expressed here and my truth is pretty on par. I know a great gift card deal when I see one and this is undoubtedly a great fift card deal. On the day Mei Lin was released I had no financial issues with investing 300 or so in a gift card considering I've spent $500.00 or so on them in the past few weeks. I put twenty items in Cart including a gift card and the HD base at $12 and change but had a huge struggle to settle/pick for free items to make the count. It was like picking blueberries from a bush already picked dry. So I lowered the cart, opened a new window, cleared the cart and purchased some free items, than over the next few days did three purchases amounting to 37.00 dollars in other items, always going back and reviewing the Mei Lin cart and the new Mei Lin offers which were still stale. My store credit is almost depleted and I could use a decent gift card discount but I still can't justify buying this bundle when I won't use it or the free items I really don't want or need. Maybe if Daz would include the HD morph in the package because it feels like a rip when it's an add-on, or maybe if they included some canadianized, eurpoeanized or americanized work/everyday wear/hair. I personally can't justify dowloading this just because it's free. I do appreciate Daz's offer but there is something 'off' about this bundle. Valdimir bundle cost me 126.00 while Mei Lin, her Hd and 17 other items is costing me 11.00. I'm afraid if I buy a 300 dollar gift card, I'll get more offers like this and never spend it because there are no old products I really want or need and the bundles don't have the luster they once had. I had Mei Lin 7 but not Mei Lin 6 so I would have been even more disappointed had I owned both bundles. The point is had the freebee offers been sweeter or the bundle better, I would have purchased it in a heart beat.
Eh ... kind of? The bulk of her scaling is in the main controller, but there's some scaling in her Body slider as well. The Body slider makes her a little smaller, the main slider makes her a lot smaller.
I don't know what to look for to see that.
Is that everything in the cart with Mei Line Pro 8? Because the total doesn't matchj the visible items to me - $288.79 is what I see.

I have a question on the ML HD product, I don't think I have bought any of the HD items yet, but I am lookin at getting the ML HD, but a few things concern me, mainly specific points on her body that look very odd to me, in the promos for the product her hands and feet look ... old, also in promo2 her right upper arm looks very bumpy and then her knees look like she has been kneeling on a rough carpet for several hours and just stood up. Then there are a few spots on her body where it looks almost like an orange peel.
Has anyone made renders with the HD added? How does she look rendered with it?
(I know it sounds like I am bashing the product, but to me it looks like they might have gone a little overboard unless it looks a lot better rendered out with a good texture.)
I have been a little too busy for personal renders lately but I didn't see many of the other girls in the Mei Lin bundle here and I used them in recent promos so thought I would add them here.

I finally got around to making a render with Mei Lin 8, here she is fighting the Brute.
In my experience, the rough knees and hands evident in the textureless promos are much less pronounced when rendered with the texture, even with the HD cranked to 150. In fact, the more you can see tendons and detail on the hands, the better, generally speaking. On the other hand, HD face wrinkles do tend to show up as age.
Yeah, for some reason, ML8 just isn't doing it for me. She seems "unfinished." I did like some of the test renders on here with other textures. So, maybe that's the issue.
I think part of the problem is Mei Lin 7's skin and shader setup is so realisitic that the bar was set very high and Mei Lin 8 just falls short in the textures and shader setup (as was previously mentioned, DAZ seems to have issues getting chromatic SSS to not look like over orange/red).

First thing I'd do is edit the texture to remove the dot under her eye. The other mark near the lip is less distracting. Just MHO but, a new release is where a company pulls out all the stops and pushes the product 110%. I just don't see it in this release. I may be bias cause I wanted more but it is what it is. The character is "OK" since I'm not a great fan of the angle, over use of lip gloss and puffy lips BUT, thats just my taste and the quality of the render is great.
Again, I have only a few purchases that when i saw were " Must Buys". I own Hann Mei, Uki, Minami and Neko for G8F. I expect at least this or better from a base platform designed to be what these are. Sorry but, I'm picky when it comes to spending my money. Lee 8 seems to have followed the same path. They are releasing a new 8 base platform every month and in most cases are doing nothing better than the base G8 is doing. YES there are some exceptions but, as said before, I don't believe this is one of them "ATM".

Yes I know. She has at least 2 and I pointed out I would keep the other one. the one directly under the eye is distracting and one reason why cosmetic surgeons make millions a year changing people. With a paint program its a simple click or two and its gone. i dont mind blemishes but lately people seem to be over doing it in and attempt to make a less perfect texture for realims sake. I've seen several women with near perfect facial skin other than slight variations in color. Adding black dots to make it real should be an option not included on the base texture IMHO. An alternate texture or LIE add on would be welcome.
