Mei Lin dropped at the perfect time for me. The 20% off gift card turned my $200 into $240. Mei Lin 8's skin isn't as phenomenally photorealistic as Mei Lin 7's, but very few are. But it is one of the top 6, imo, of the Genesis 8 Core Females. The free items were slim pickings for me, but they were things that I can use but would not have paid for. And I paid $1.59 each for two air conditioners, which I needed, though I would not have bought the sets to get them. Thanks, Daz, and I hope Lee is as well-defined muscularly as his predecessors.

I too would have preferred 20% off Mei Lin and the ability to use store credit. The free items are a pretty weak selection, and I can't even use my coupons because of the free offer. It's more Meh Lin than Mei Lin.

I agree. They've just completely turned me off a purchase with that 'discount' for already having Mei Lin Pro - Pity, she looks great, and some nice items in the pro bundle - but she can wait - and the ten free items are mostly nasty too - hard to pick ten out of that collection of cast-offs and mostly bargain bin items.
20% off a Gift Card? I've never ever bought a gift card, ever. I'm not that focused on my future spending - Yes I might save a bit in the future, but the next three characters released I might not like - I might get hit by a bus tomorrow.
20% off a a Gift card isn't a discount for previous purchases it's an invite to spend more now and later.
A Gift Card to yourself with this offer is discounted money, an extra stacking 20% discount (at the price of having your money committed in advance).
yeah I'm sorry I couldnt get the underkimono in there but dforce was exploding like fireworks no matter what I did. I did try! Alas, real world traditional designs have to be altered slightly to work around techincal issues sometimes.
I had some success by using 2 copies of the kimono - one regular conforming and the top one with Expand, and dforce. However it too exploded at the drop of a hat. I don't reccomend it for the easily frustrated! You can also alter the fabric weight and that will change the amount the fabric slides open during motion poses. I made sure to keep several material zones in the kimono, which helps in dforce simulations. The trim is its own material so you can make that very stiff and it will keep the robe more closed

If so, I'd rather delay using my coupon because it is so early in the month. If not, I would use the coupon now.
Based on the promos, I like Mei Lin 8 as a character very much. The specials include several sets among the freebies and discounts to make the Pro bundle attractive. But where are the amazing test renders and comparisons by the talented Diva to push me from just liking the promos to a must-have purchaser?
I'm happy, as I was beginning to believe we'd never get any asians for G8. And I too wonder what she's wearing, that was the first item I wanted to get.
I usually buy Mei Lin but her deal of 10 free items does not entice me as most of that is pretty old and I just bought a gift card. I’m content with Mei Lin 7.

I like the looks of her . But I got a much better deal when bought the brute pro bundle. that it kind of spoiled me & this pro bundle really did offer any incentive for buying her. I'll Pass for now I wish listed for maybe later.
Agree with you all, the 20% off a gift card turned me off. I would have preferred a discount. As for the free items-not interested. I guess I'll hold off purchasing. Sad because I like her :-(

I like the look of Mei Lin 8 and the Pro Bundle stuff, and there were a number of things from my wishlist in the "Free" and $1.59/$2.59 lists, so it was an easy choice. Used of the last of my previous discounted gift card, so those are handy. I am also interested in the outfit and weapon, so will keep an eye open for those items.
I'm not interested in Mei Lin, but I like the Hyorin figure they did for her. Can someone show an example of Hyorin without Mei Lin? Unfortunately the only headliner figures I have are Zelara, Victoria, Teen Josie, & Monique.
This was a no brainer purchase for me. I didn't have a problem going through 300+ items and finding 10 that I could use. Shaders, props / settings, creatures. It wasn't hard for me. And the $1.59 and $2.59 collections each had things that were on my wishlist. Overall a very large purchase for less than $80 total.
Okay, the sale is get Mei Lin 8 Pro and get 6 and 7 free. I already have 7, though. Is there an equivalant Pro that can be acquired?

It's great if you have none of the items on offer.
But many a Daz enthusiast already has all or most of the stuff that's on offer. At the least, they already have the items they would ever have any interest in using. And when you already own the bonus items, that leaves you with no bonus.
Unless you count the "I'll pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today" gift card deal. But that's not a discount, that's a premium toward a future purchase, which requires spending more, not less.
This promo needs a rethink. Too late for this one, of course, but there needs to be more benefit to longstanding users who already have the "bonus" items.
Maybe the next figure is Lee 8 and owners of Mei Lin 8 will get a very nice discount on him?
I really like Mei Lin 8. I don't need her. Nothing is pushing me toward the "buy" button here.

What I did was purchased Mei Lin Pro Bundle and got the gift card and ten free items. Then I went back and put in the add ons I wanted and tried the PC coupon for $6 off Daz original and it went through! Added in the gift card amount I bought a few minutes earlier and essentially got 2 free add ons between the coupon and GC percentage free!
Personally, I would love to see the pro bundles for Gen 3 characters come back again as there's a few left I want to get, but I think it's just nice that we get something off or for free regardless :)
it all moot if you dont have the cash to buy a gift card. 1st need to spend 50 on the bundle + adds. ... i could buy maybe a $10 gift card..why bother
I'd been waiting for Mei Lin, and the 10 free items made the pro bundle worth it for me, especially at the ~$42 price point I was getting it at. I was able to pick up the free items I wasn't able to get with Vladimir 8. I also used my PlatClub coupon to get Hyorin for free (I had to do that in a separate order).
Mei Lin always comes out before Lee, and seeing her show-up this early in the month means the figure coming later will most likely be him.
For me the 20% off the gift card was an excellent deal and I quite like everything in the pro bundle. I have both 6 and 7. I was able to find 10 items (but it was close, and really, that's the bane of having too much content already I guess lol) and picked up a couple in the $1.59 and one in the $2.59 category. Overall, for me, this was a great deal, as offering me pro bundles doesn't do much since I have most of them that I want. Since the gift card I purchased gave me more off than what Mei Lin cost me, it was a win win for me. But there have been plenty of pro sales where I didn't have the money or just couldn't use the incentives so I understand why some are disappointed.
I will say that I really like her (although I may still like 6 better but its close lol) And I can use everything in the bundle this time, which is a bonus. The free items were all props and the like as I don't have Star and couldn't take advantage of any of those.
