Non-complaint:  I got my car back this morning, and the wiper is behaving sanely again.  Not that anyone fixed it.  They tried but, as usual, could find nothing definite.  but my suspicion is that since the problem doesn't occur until I use the car in heavy rain or the car has been through the car wash, or it's just very humid and the car's been parked and soaked by rain, I believe the problem is moisture getting into either the wiper motor/computer case, or into the cables.  The motor/computer case has been opened, and the cables have been jiggled around so perhaps things have dried out. indecision

Regardless, since the car was behaving well today I quickly took it in for inspection and it passed for another year.  So, I'll just try to keep my cables dry and I'll keep the car for now and see what happens.

Complaint:  Inspection was a few days early so that's moved my yearly inspection into September instead of October (I lost a month) so, next year I'll have to remember inspection in Sept, instead of Oct. (if I still have the car).  Also, complaint: Fixing the power steering line was $66 parts and $56 labor for a total of $162. sad Plus inspection fee of $21 frown

I went to my local trusted used car dealer looking for a newer car and he showed me a 2012 Ford Focus.  Looks nice, I fit into it, drives nicely, but monthly payment would be about $175 + $20/month more for insurance and I looked up 2012 Ford Focus on the internet and there seem to be a preponderance of complaints about transmission troubles. no  So, I think I'll just wait and see what happens with my old 2003 Buick LeSabre.

The windshield wiper could be caused by a faulty switch, maybe it's making a connection when it's not supposed to or vice versa. If you have any friends who are more electrician than mechanic, they could re-route the wires and put a simple toggle switch on your dash so you could turn your wipers on/off. It wouldn't be pretty, but it would work when you need it.

I have a Mazda 3 which is the Focus' twin sister, but mine is a 2011 so I don't know if that was before or after the redesign. It's a pretty solid car, but I have a manual transmission so I don't know how good the automatics are. Just be aware that any modern car is probably gonna come with the electronic keys. My dealer quoted me a price of $280 to replace a single key. Even after I bought a knockoff brand off Amazon, got it cut at a local locksmith for $10, I still had to go to the dealer to get it programmed, so that was $160. Sometimes, it's just cheaper to keep your old car. I'm still mourning the loss of my '95 Ranger a few years ago. She almost made it to 20.

Thanks to the Army, I spent three fun filled months in the Mohave desert and I never saw a single scorpion, thank goodness. I did see one tarantula though and I probably didn't sleep that night. I don't like the creepy crawlies. I'm not judging you on the shampoo either. I'm a logical person normally, but if I see a huge bug/spider and there's no bug spray nearby, I'm using whatever chemical I have handy "Tile cleaner? Yeah, maybe that'll blind him till I can go get the bug spray"

I hate when that happens. Usually with me it's my phone though. I was almost finished with the first Angry Birds game when my phone shut off. I turned it back on and the game file was reset, I guess because it wasn't closed properly.

Ugg, i wouldn't want to camp in the desert!! .. My roomie also confirmed never saw any scorpions here .. and telling me I dragged them in from helping my friends move a few weeks ago.. then howed it get in the bathtub... so the roomies also confirmed that they didn't kill him.  I assumed yesterday that maybe they did, so its confirmed that soap doesn't kill a scorpion..but I did have a little hair gel/spray that I used too before I had dumped the shampoo in on him thinking that would stop him in his tracks.. so maybe he crawled off and croaked somewhere.. I went looking for his skeleton with a flash light and couldn't find him.  Usually hairspray works on cock roaches and hair gel/sprays..

Non-complaint:  I've found some new NetFlix series to watch.  I like detective stories and I've seen most of them from the last 50 years.  But recently NetFlix has been showing some Russian cop TV shows. yes One was called "Sniffer" about a detective who had an extremely sensitive sense of smell.  Wierd premise but it worked for a couple of seasons.  The new one I'm watching is called "Silver Spoon" ("Мажор") pronounced Mazhor, (i.e. silver spoon meaning born with a silver spoon in his mouth, aka: privileged, aka suffering from affluenza) about a rich Russian Olegarch's idle playboy son  punished by his father to work as a policeman. surprise It's intended to be demeaning but he ends up being good at it.  It's good for my Russian language studies.  I have to read the subtitles but I get to hear a lot of natural Russian speakers and proper pronunciations.  I'm getting better at catching words here and there.  And like a lot of Russian stories the mindset following a thousand years of tradition, is that "life sucks and can always get worse".  But I do wish that the love affairs were a bit more clear cut.  Nobody in this series can make up their mind about who they love. frown (I'm sure it's all part of the "life sucks" theme.)

The "Silver Spoon" series is actually pretty good.  Some terrible murders, con games, political intrigue.  There is a long plot that covers the season, and short plots that are resolved in a single show or two.  Good plots, photography, acting, dialogue. yes

Non-complaint:  My biggest excitment for today is that I'm driving about 13 miles east to visit an alpaca farm, and possibly buy a jar of homemade chilli as a fund raiser for some charity or other.  Yay? frown  I've seen some of the alpaca leather goods they produce and am tempted to get a nice pair of alpaca driving gloves but it's a toss up between that and the chilli. indecision

Miss Bad Wolf, why are you in this group home?

I am not sure.  I have a mental diagnosis and had a melt down in 2012, but not sure why I am still there.

Honey, you have come so far from then.  I was with you then and I'm with you now.  You have a job, you go to the library and the Y, you are now connected to your family, and you manage your money.  You are a creator.  It's time to spread your wings and soar.  Love you.

I have lived in Austin since 1989 and haven't seen any scorpions at my house.  Stay away from Krause Springs though.  Scorpions love the bathrooms there.

Thanks.  Sometimes it is the naysayers who yell the loudest. (Then deny they are yelling)

Non related complaint; I put too much salt on my loaded fries.  Another complaint my computer just restarted by itself. I am on my iPad that is how I can still write this while computer is restarting.

noncomplaint I have enough promotional credit to buy two 99 cent ebooks on Amazon, but it has to be sold by amazon and to get 2 they both need to be 99cents.

  • Complaint I feel awful, bloated, and fat.  I think it is that time again, but actually I know it.

    ¿Dónde está el paraguas?

  • Came home early but no one home again, but then I did not call before coming home.

  • UPS sent my mouse cable to the wrong facility.  The cable was supposed to arrive on Wednesday.  I have difficulty using my new mouse because the cable is too short.  I could put the mouse on the left side of the desk but I am right handed.

  • My new battery barely lasted ten minutes before deciding to die, but then it was not fully charged at all.  Wonder how long I have to wait till they come home.  Too bad I do not know a way to ask someone where they are without getting a lecture.  I am not asking for them to come home but to figure out where they are.

  • They are now home and I am back in my room and back to charging my battery of the notebook.

  • Non-complaint:  Well, my mini-adventure for the day was a partial success, I found the alpaca farm, bought my chilli, but didn't find a pair of alpaca leather gloves that fit.  The farm is in the middle of Amish country and my dashcam  captured a couple Amish out doing errands in their sport utility vehicle.

  • They are now home and I am back in my room and back to charging my battery of the notebook.  The previous post autosaved and posted at the same time apparently.

I have another hour until battery is fully charged.  Is it okay to keep it plugged in even after it is fully charged?  I am not sure I am going to unplug it right after it is fully charged up.  I do not want to ruin the battery but I also do not want to do something stupid.  I am guessing some time using notebook plugged in with full battery is okay as long as it is not all the time.  It does need to run on battery power sometimes or it will go bad, right?
