Yes, the company is called Katerra. A bunch of Silly-con Valley honchos started a new company. The intent is to assemble complete rooms (wiring, plumbing, smart-gadgets, etc.) then truck them to the site and assemble. They're trying to be as modular as possible so that sub-assemblies (kitchens, bathrooms, etc) can be mass produced for less.

Just leave it in your spam box and then empty the spam box to get rid of it.  If you have no clue what it is that is a good reason to understand why it was in your spam box.

...still wouldn't help much here in Portland as property values are what help drive up the housing costs.  We have a limitation here called the Urban Growth Boundary which was imposed to prevent sprawl. So the more land within that boundary that gets built on, the more expensive property values become (the old supply and demand rule).  It's not unusual to have a viable single family home demolished to make way for more high density dwellings that can be sold (condos) or rented out (flats) for ridiculous prices.

I just checked my spam box and found an email about being blocked in a Whats something app.  No clue what that is so no clue how to block that person whoever that person is.

So what!  You've been blocked by something you don't know what is. indecision If you don't know what it is, it isn't important. surprise  Ignore it.  It could be a virus trap or phising attempt.enlightened

..yeah they are very short staffed these days, particularly in large metropolitan areas. The best you can do is plan to spend a day going to the local office and waiting for an appointment. I've had to do that.  yes it's no fun, but it may be the only way to get a "foot in the door" and the forms you need to start the process rolling.  Also don't get discouraged if your first claim is denied, that is the par for the course for everyone, you have to keep filing appeals.  It took me 18 months before I actually actually had my first full evaluation and even after that I was was denied.  The best move is contact a Disability attorney.  You don't have to pay up front and they can only take a percentage of your initial award if you qualify.  They will also work to get you retroactive benefits as well (that is the real "long haul" but it can be very rewarding)  My case is still pending (there's always a backlog), but of it goes through, I stand to receive a nice little net egg as it could go as far back as 2013.

...I used to have an actual "Any" key on my old workstation back when I was in multimedia development. The keyboard had programmable function keys which had a clear plastic lot you could slip a small slip of paper to label what it did.

Complaint:  Arghhh... my blood pressure machine has been giving me high readings lately.  I finally was at a doctor's today (Urologist) and made sure they took my blood pressure with their proper machines.  Arghhh... it gave the same readings my machine has been giving.  sad  So..., I stopped in at my cardiologist and described my BP issue with the receptionist and asked to have my scheduled Nov 16th appointment moved up a few weeks.  She said they were completely booked between now and then but she'd pass the information on to the doctor.   When I got home I got a call from the receptionist saying the doctor wanted to see me TOMORROW.  So, apparently he thinks it's worth juggling schedules.  Which is good news, but bad news.   Hopefully just an adjustment in my BP medicines will resolve the issue.  indecision

Halloween candy is on sale in September complaint.  Halloween is at the end of October so why buy Halloween candy now, especially ones you like if you plan to give them out.  They will not last till Halloween at this rate.

there are doubtless many words in common parlance in the UK which are unknown in the US, there are also others which mean totally different things in the two different countires, some that are quite normal in one are though of as wrong in the other,   Like a certain well known food item in the UK

Earlier in US history, that word meant a bunlde of sticks.  Later, it was a cigarette, well...the short form "fag".  Now, it's mostly past being used as a hate word/slur.  Most don't use that word anymore, at least I don't hear if very often.  The first was actually spelled with only one "g", though it still seems to be pronounced the same.  Another point of confusion in the English language, no matter what side of The Pond you're on, I guess.

is the 26th.  next week is October.  There is a ceramic halloween treat bowl on the receptionist's desk.  It's empty.  i can't eat candy but i can worry about the bowl being empty.

I put out a bucket of honey pretzel sticks on my file cabinet.  it brings visitors to my desk. devil

Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to stick closely with the other dragons.

Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It loves to chase butterflies.
And look, it has grown wings that release a faint, spicy scent when it waves them. It must be nearly mature.

Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is very dark in color, but its eyes glow brightly.

I wasn't aware that the Premium Artist sale is running now.  I didn't see any banners for the sale until today.

Well, it's not the PA sale of yesteryear.  Maybe that's why you haven't noticed.  I think they used to generate a whole lot more buzz in the forums.

    Dana

    Thanks for the info.

Today the heat index is 92 degrees F.  I guess that the air is very humid outside.

    A little arachnophobia anyone?

Its giant spider season... I had to relocate this lovely young lady from the door of one of my storage carts...

This is a different spider who has decided to take up residence between a tiki torch and my grill... She's been served notice, that she has until Saturday to relocate... I figured I'd get a nice shot of her mandibles...

Complaint: Spider photography is unnecessarily difficult on the iPhone... I'm sure everyone has noticed that, but even with a close up lens attachment, it's so dang awkward to hold and get in close enough to get good details. It just keeps trying to do its own thing... Shutting off, focusing on something in the background, changing to video... Megh... And spiders are busy folks... They don't like waiting around for you to take photos of them.

Anyway... While I removed the first spider she was crawling up and down my arm as I transported her to a nearby table... She was big enough that you could feel the little hooks in her foot pads... If you've ever handled a tarantula you know what I mean.

Now my arm is covered in spider silk... The thick kind at least. Not that low quality invisible stuff... This is the kind of silk you can actually hear as you pull it off.

When I was done taking stuff out of the cart I returned her to her lair... I figure she is safer there and she can eat any bugs that try to defile the wood.

If you wish to marvel at the details of these fine arachnids, the "An OT Thread for images" in the Art Studio section has the full sized pix if click on them... These have been resized to 650 pixels wide... The others are 2800 or something.

In case you like spiders or want to have all the details right in you nightmares... Nobody like inaccurate nightmares.
