Aw. I piled up my cart this morning but wanted to take the time to sort it out. All ad-ons were 100% free. Now their prices have risen and the cart went from $46 to $119. The prices of the add-ons got upped, so you now get less free items.

What I learned from the Edward Pro sale earlier this year: if you see a major character launched that you want, grab it the first day when the deals are the best. You never know when they are going to change.

Yup, after all these years as a buyer I'm learning... get it on the first day when it's really affordable.  You never know what even 12 or 24 hours is going to do to the prices!

Especially in the middle of an "event" sale!

Here is something I was playing around with before I left for work today.  Its Brute 8 with about 20% of a Kimo 7 morph I transferred into G8 along with about 20% of the HD morph and some vasularity added in.  Its not "Done " yet but its looking interesting so far.

Did you convert Kimo 7 to G8 using Singular Blue's script? I think all of my G3 males have been converted, but I was under the impression the HD morphs for G3 wouldn't work with G8…

Regardless, your character is definitely drool-worthy!

Thank you! :) Actually I used Redz tutorial for this one.  I have Singular Blue’s scripts but they are stored on my backup drive.  I just built a new pc and not everything is ported over yet.

Oh and the HD morphs were the ones for Brute. I picked them up this morning after remembering that the new pc handles them so much better than the old one.

I just cleared my cart after seeing all the prices jump up. I should've just bought the pro bundle yesterday. sad

It is not the Brute 8 here but Mr Rubbleman changed just a little to look like the Thing from Marvel Comics, the character that made me curious and interested enough to start buying comics. I found an empty slurpee cup with the Thing's picture on the sidewalk outside of a 7-11 when I was a boy and was fascinated! 4 years later I had a heavy box of about 1000 comics I had wondered the streets of Jacksonville Florida for looking for empty pop bottles to return for deposit refunds to fund my comic book buying. laugh

    The Thing

I really like how this came out, very nice! I love the style, it would be awesome to have a range of characters in a similar style to build a toon universe.

This guy is awesome! He's pretty much exactly what I wanted from a male character. Can't wait to play around with him some more.

That is stunning, nonesuch! Great work!

I have a character in my Black Kat series who is a "stone singer"- he can move mountains with his voice. I've been wanting to make him craggier looking. I'm not sure if I can dial in Mr. Rubble part way, but if I can, that would certainly help. I need to find time to play with him.

Thanks @wsterdan & @Lynara I was very happly to see Joe Quick's Mr Rubbleman as I has working that day on a render involing Submariner & the Human Torch. I was thinking how on earth am I going to ever model a working Thing let alone model flames for the Human Torch, invisible for the Invisible Girl & stretch Mr Fantastic. I'm trying out some shader materials to see if they'll do a good Human Torch right now. The scene only involves the Human Torch & the Submariner but there was recently a 'Ghostly Spectre' product in the DAZ store I can buy & look at the techniques for Invisible Girl. That leaves Mr Fantastic who will have to be faked on a case by case basis I guess according to the comic book panel I'm looking at as I don't think even with limits off the G8M model will stretch so much.

Is that in your Gallery? The stone singer sound like Black Bolt from the Inhumans, one of my favorite characters (well the 70s comic book version of him is).

Oh. Of course. I just read that wrong. blush

I did quite a lot using Red's tutorial long before SB gave us the scripts. (I've even created G3M head morphs for G3F!) The script may be easier, but I learned a ton of stuff about DS following Red's tutorials, and from SY's clothing conversion tutorial, as well. None of that would have happened without the release of G8, even though I had hoped—fervently—that Daz wouldn't come out with a new generation on their two year schedule!

First spin with the new guy.  !00% Brute 8, plus some Floyd and and a little George.  I really like what this base brings to the G8M figure.

Not yet. I've been working on him, but could never get him right. But I need to, because he's the main character in an upcoming book. His name is Elijah "Stone" Murphy. He's a salty Aussie that loves books when he's not wrecking everything, LOL. He can't live near the other Supers because he's so dangerous, so he hangs out in the Outback. He just helped bust Hugh out of prison in my latest Black Kat book. Made a mess of everything!

    @Cybersox He looks great!

Let me know how the human torch experiment goes! I also have "fire shifters" in my books, who manipulate fire and burst into flames at odd moments. There's going to be one on an upcoming cover and I haven't figured that out yet. I never expected that my writing would make my art so challenging! LOL

Thanks!  What I like best about The Brute 8 is that he manages to convey the idea of being strong and muscular without resorting to the excessive muscle definition that so many "strong" DAZ characters have in the past. That's not to say that I don't still love Ivan 7, but it's nice to have a completely different option for tough guys.

Yeah... that's like.... impossible, pretty much......

:) Okay, I cheated. I have a tentacle figure that I used the same blue shader as his outift on for Mr Fantastic Lower torso. His real body is hiding behind the Thing. All figures are G3 series. Rendo has  product called Firebird for Genesis (I think). I used a fire shader and then another product from here called "Instan Flames" (Again, I think. I am sorry and I am at work so i cannot check at the moment.) The Thing was done with my morphs and the morphs and character work done by the incredible Joe Quick for a stone-type character that came out last series on G3. Invisb;le woman was done in photoshop with gradient knocjk out and two different renders of the same scene. One with her in it and one without. :)

I bought Brute right off when I saw MrRubble. Haven't played with him yet as time has not permitted but.... can't wait to dig in later when I have some more free time.... like in a decade or so. :)

Wanted to buy him on release, but the lack of funds was a problem. The next day, I have funds, but everything included in the $90 bit as "rocketed" in price. It's put me off buying The Brute 8. I know I'm one of those that bangs on about male content, but I feel punished for not being able to purchase on day one.

It also set the tone for me that if you are going to buy content, you must buy it on the day of release. I wish I had a pool of money (instead of a puddle) which could make that possible, but I don't, so I can't.

    sad

I feel your pain. I could only scrape together enough pennies to get the base figure. It would have been nice to get the pro bundle and some discounted stuff.

    Is it wrong that

    A) I haven't tried most of the Brute pro pack because I've been doing scenes with Mr. Rubble?

    B) I keep hearing him doing one-liners in Taika Waititi's voice?

Thanks that looks really good & Iyours looks like the comic book version not the movies version! That looks really good.

I forgot about that tentacle character in the DAZ Store for Mr Fantastic so that will work. What is it's name, the tentacle creature?

I'm afraid for the Torch DAZ has started crashing on me so I will have to delete some of the flame effects in my render I was trying to do. frown I'm trying to do without postwork or using 3DL and my 7 year old laptop with integrated GPU aren't cooperating, although if I could have more than 16GB RAM it would probably render or had a large that 222GB SSD system drive to optimize for memory. I may have to giveup & use 3DL/pwToon or Visual Style/Manga Style shader instead.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat - was all ready to buy the Brute 8 Pro bundle, added everything I wanted to my cart, needed to wait one day for the purchase. Next day price jumped...

Even though I want the character I just can't pull the trigger on it now -_-

EDIT - I just realized it was because the mid-month catchup sale ended (I think?) At least that makes sense.

I submitted a help request about this "buttons on the wrong side" issue. I included a link to this image in my gallery. I encourage everyone who is unhappy with this shirt to let customer service know. We can't even return the product, because it is part of the bundle. We are stuck with it. We need to let Daz and PAs know that we expect a shirt marketed for a male to button correctly.

Great figure. I wouldn't get much use out of him, but it would have been an instant buy IF it had the option to get 3 older bundles free with purchase. I have been out of the loop for awhile and those promotions help me get back in the game. Still really good work on the part of all involved.
