  • Wish they’d stop messing with prices. Was going to check out then my cart has gone up to 383 from 100 dollars.

they need to also fix the links for I can spy and I can sweat poses. It’s sad those don’t work. People won’t buy what they can’t see.

Try again - the store just did a price glitch but he's back to normal for me now.

  • Yes checked out at last.

Yeah, the prices are going up and down like a frog in a dynamite pond. Every time I refresh my cart, it's showing a different price.

There was a moment this morning when Brute was in my cart for what I thought of as a quite reasonable price, and it didn't seem to be counting up to $30 properly -- I could add as many add-ons from the related sets as I wanted, and they all priced at $0.00. I could have had quite a bargain if I'd pulled the trigger then, but I figured that it was a glitch and I should just wait for it to be sorted out, so as to get the fair price. However, I hadn't expected that the Brute price would end up going all over the place.

Maybe I should wait a little longer ...

  • For my purposes, the promo images are okay. I like the renders I'm seeing in this thread better. Regardless, it's Gen8 male content, which I need. With the pro bundle, and the new-item purchase, plus the +$90 free, I checked out for $40 with a lot of male content and a couple of dragons, which is good. Just a bug in the ear for future bundles/characters--including an East Asian morph (or any ethnicity besides white, really) in the bundle would be hugely appreciated.

  • Ya it finally went through correctly.  But it was all over the place there for about half an hour.  I think I'm going to  check my bank account just to make sure....

Why is he $134? I usually get the pro bundle for $60. I have a green bar, but that just brings him down to $110.

    It should be fine now.

  • Note to self: never try to comprehend a Daz sale at 2:30AM after coming home from a party where you consumed like 10 glasses of champagne. I just looked at at all the offers and had to laugh because I will definitely need a lot of coffee in the morning to even understand everything they are offering and whether it all is something I need or want... $90 off what? Will this sale even make sense sober? Do I need to be a member of Mensa to understand it? I guess I’ll know in the morning. But I really don’t need a Brute. I want a Nathan Fillion or young Robert Redford type...

just worked it out looks like from playing around you can add a total of $30 from each section as your freebies which is $90 all up so depending on what you choose you could get a ton of stuff if you just got selected the cheapest but even the most expensive you get a fair bit too just remember in each section it's $30 worth of items total

of course that does cause the $6 do coupon not to work had that added but once put in freebies the usual problem cropped up but then $6 off versus $90 freebies think the $90 freebies wins just gotta work out what I want

edit tried coupon $6 takes off $3.40 give or take

  • Wow, Mr. Rubble's files are huge. 4 files of nearly 750 MB a piece. I wish that was an optional character. I'm not a fan of characters costing me 3 gigs of space.

Yeah, I wish Korag—-ermmm, Mr. Rubble was swapped out with someone else, like Samdy. Mainly b/c I feel that there should’ve been an ethnic character, rather than something that takes 3 gigs to install.

Looks like Mike, Floyd, Owen, Edward and Ollie

Very handsome and masculine character. Just what we needed, although I'm still waiting and was hoping for Lee 8. =P Any idea whose morph is injected to which character? I can already tell the last one is Ollie.

Hubba, hubba! Hellooooooo hottie! Yeah, it's gonna be an expensive day at DAZneyland for me! I might not be able to leave my computer. I'll be staring at him all day long.

LMAO @divamakeup ! And thank you for those renders. Mmmmmmmm

Well, I was thinking along the same lines, but I have to go to work. So all I can do is dream. ;)

Working here too! But he's already in my product library. Can't wait to get home and playyyyy

  • What's the likelyhood he'll still be on sale for the next couple of days?

Yay for Daz! An excellent compromise on a male creature (that sells) and a normal male (that doesn't sell as well as females). I guess that's the idea with Vladimir 8 (whom I presume is a vampire). Although, I'se not digging that ALL the clothes are skin tight or that stiff-looking bootlace bows without morphs have become standard on Daz Original laced boots since Genesis 3.

Maybe you could set up the lace bow for D-Force to loosen up the stiffness?

I hate you Daz!  hate you, I hate you, I hate you!!!  No not really.

But I spent so much this month already.  Then you just had to come out with fantastic Bute and tiopped it off with a super awesome, huge sale discounts for things i had in my wishlist .  I could not resist

Looks like cucumber sandwiches the rest of the month

Yeah, he is huge in more ways than one - had 9+ GB of content to download this morning. I rather like him, though. All of the brutes are great characters!

Going to be hard to stay on task this afternoon and fight the urge to screw around . . .

And the Rocky dude came with fitting templates.  I'd love to know how those were created.  Joe needs to do a little tutorial on that.  Be helpful for some of the shapes I've made over the years but have horrible time getting things to auto fit them correctly so it's always going into ZBrush to get it done.... Got the pro bundle and two of the texture sets add ons!

Does the base character have normal maps that at least give some impression of the extra detail provided by the HD addon? I'd be interested to see some renders with decent lighting, but without the HD morph dialled in,

As usual with pro bundles, nothing really interests me other than the character and maybe the hair, so it's not worth buying, even for the freebies, none of which are the kind of thing I'd use.

I quite like the base character, but really resent Daz's policy of ripping off customers by selling a figure that's twice the price of a typical PA character, then selling you the same character again, to unlock the detail that should have come as standard in the first place.

EDIT: nevermind, I just noticed the normal map options in the "what's included" section. I was lookng at the page on an ipad earlier and didn't scroll down far enough to see the info.

Haha, @wonderland, 10 glasses of champagne on a Monday night, you go girl I wish I had your life!

Emmy parties! It’s a big deal here in LA! laugh But we celebrate the opening of a paper bag here with red carpets and hoopla! Crazy fun city and nice to have a nightlife when your days are spent alone with a cat in front of a computer LOL.

So now trying to figure out this Brute thing. Still would prefer a Nathan Fillion or young Robert Redford type, both in a 3D version and live version LOL.

My minions did it. They must have logged in and loaded up the scene file while I was gone to Dunkin’ Donuts for a coffee run.

They’re like those guys that make crop circles – in/out before anyone notices. Only in this case it wasn’t overnight - was only gone for like 20 minutes and this was just one of the files they left behind.

Looks like they used 3DL to render out a series of different passes, which were then used (along with fractal algorithms and some HDR hocus-pocus) to govern the illustration.

Glad you enjoyed the image, @Estroyer.

    - Greg

BTW, major bonus points for asking if I drew them - music to my ears!

Don't forget you can get $30 off in each of the three catagories.

Oh, and I really like cucumber sandwiches, maybe with a little lettuce and fresh tomato added.  It's when I get down to stone soup and maybe a sprinkling of ramen noodles that I begin to worry.

You don't actually have to download him just because you've bought him smiley

As an aside, has anyone else been getting very slow downloads recently? I've had this for a few days now. Right now Intsall Manager is downloading Brute 8 at about 15KB/s, I usually get hundreds or sometimes over a thousand KB/s. And there are some big files in this bundle, at this rate I'll still be downloading well into tomorrow. It's not my computer or my Internet connection, downloads from other places are at normal speed.

It's a great promo offer as well!  Three different sets of "add-on"s in items, $30 worth free per category - Poses, Animal and Weapons, so $90 in free stuff plus the other discounts.  I've got the Pro bundle in my cart with one Debut Item (Samdy) , which with the Green Bar takes the PP dow to $34 plus $5.98, and I'm still adding freebies. :)

Thank you for posting this.  Today I spent an hour travelling to work, did 8 hours work, followed by a pointless 90 minute meeting, followed by a 45 minute journey home.  Possibly because of all this, when I looked at the sale page for Brute, my brain melted with the effort of trying to understand what I have to buy to get the offers.  Your post has saved my poor brain from further stress.  Thank you.

Thanks, @RAMWolff, I had gotten (somewhat) used to D-former, but dForce is probably a better idea, that is, once I upgrade to 4.10.

Excellent idea, @Wonderland! You know, young Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, James Dean, & Jimmy Stewart would be a GREAT way to put some oomph into Core G8M (Edward 8 is missing from the list for some reason).

Yes, I decided to go only for Brute 8 and Mr Rubble character along with 3DU's Toon Squirrel, Frog, & Turkey & it literally took hours & hours to download & install those at about 3.5 GB total. My cable internet only maxes out at only 425k but yet doing the download for these purchases the DIM said it was only downloading at 125k - 2225k much of the download time.

The lumberjack shirt has buttons which button on the wrong side. A friend pointed that out to me.... perhaps they can reverse that and provide an update.
