Great product, chevybabe25. I like it very much.
Below is my first run with my classic favorite - Sapphire Fox Hair.
Before - original Poser materials with iray Uber shader added:
After applying Backlight Auburn 2 shader preset to the hair:
Thanks Artini. Im glad you like them :)
Those renders look fantastic! I love how you used Aibell too!
@Artini
Wow totaly different hair with the shader :)
Got 'em both. Thanks to the both of you! :-)
Thanks a lot, chevybabe25.
Aibell is such a beauty and thanks to your shader presets, I can reuse old hair, that I have in my contents library.
Thank you very much for the comments, Twilight76.
Yikes this is excellent! I wasn't planning on buying anything until the mid-month catchups, but this is keeping me busy today:-)
Glad to hear it! Looking forward to seeing renders :)
You are so very welcome :)
Glad to hear it!! Looking forward to seeing renders from you as well :)
I love this shader. Spent the whole day playing and rendering. Still learning to tweek with the lights Here are some results
OOO those are excellent Alliekat!
@ALLIEKATBLUE
Great examples. Thanks.
Looks great, ALLIEKATBLUE.
I did not have so much time - so it the same scene - different hair.
I am interesting most in converting the old hair - this time: Reagan Hair.
Before:
After applying Backlight Brunette 06 preset:
That looks really good!
What lighting setup are you using in promo images 0, 8 and 9?
Those are slightly more complicated. Here comes the long winded explanation :0)
In #9 ( the pink fairy) -Painters Lights - Chiaroscuro Portrait 1. All lights are changed to white, and then they were moved around a bit to accomadate the pose better. Focal length 105 and focal distance was set to 152.49 Depth of field ON Exposure value 14.01/ Film ISO 201.43, FSTOP 22, Dome and scene on - with one of Fabi's Zen Moods HDRI41Clouds Both intensity and map are set to 1. Draw Dome ON.
In #8( the pale aqua curiosity) - This one was much more complicated: Painters Lights Rembrandt Portrait R .- All lights changed to white and then moved around a bit to accomadate the pose better. I also added a bright white rim light on the right. Focal Length 105, Focal distance 154.8, Depth Of Field ON, FSTOP 6.25 ( This got such a pretty effect with all the glitters) Exposure value was also 14/ Film ISO set at 200. Dome and scene on - with one of Fabi's Zen Moods ( I do not remember which one I used, but in the render it says HDRI33Clouds and the intensity and map are set to 1. Draw Dome ON.
In #00( celadon and gold) - This one has a lot of craziness going on with lighting - I actually fought with it for several days as I was trying not to blow out certain parts of the hair ( and I kinda failed at that - its my least favorite)
Painters Lights Chiaroscuro Portrait 3 - only the main light on and changed to white ( all other lights shut off within the group) . Painters Lights - Chiaroscuro Portrait 1R eye accent also changed to white ( all other lights shut off within the group) . Chances are I moved these two lights all around a lot till I got them right where I wanted. I added a spotlight to the lower left to highlight some of the flowing hair going away from her - also white with an intensity of 200 %. I also added a spotlight, white, with a small spread right above her head- this just added enough light to make her look kinda glowy. Focal Length 105, Focal Distance 181.73, Depth of Field ON, FSTOP 25. Exposure is 15.81 and ISO is omg 700 wow. Dome and Scene On - Environment Map Fabi's Zen Moods HDRI37Clouds , Environment Intensity .30, and Environment Map is 1. Draw Dome ON.
Absolutely no postwork in any of those renders.
Rim lighting, painter's lights, Orestes sunset hdri. No real adjustments. Sakura Long Hair.
Very pretty dreamfarmer :)
is it necessary to turn all the lights to white?
Nope.. I just did so that there would be no confusion of where colors in the hair were coming from
Thanks a lot for the comments, ForbiddenWhispers.
Thanks a million for the detailed explanation! They're great renders.
Another example - Gema Hair.
Before;
After applying Auburn 16 preset:
As a comparison on how light color can matter, the same setup as my previous picture, except I changed the Rim Lights from pink to orange. (rendered the same day but stuff keeps happening).
You are so very welcome :)
Excellent examples artini and dreamfarmer!
Hi chevybabe25
"Thanks! These really require added scene/ spot lights.. I do not believe the dome on its own will give you much effect."
You said you might need a light source other than an HDR, this is a single HDR. I've been waiting for a hair product such as this for sometime. Thank you very much.
I was thinking the lighting may have to be kind of strong from the hdr to get much effect , but in all honesty, I do not have all that much experience using hdr alone. This is such fantastic news - and such a great demonstration of it ! Excellent render Chris!
Just got this, and I'm very pleased! Here's a quick render.
OOOO pretty 8eos8! Glad you like them!!
.. And after much playing with lots of HDRI's after reading Chris Poole's comments - I can verify these work fab under those with or without fancy lighting! Yay XD !!!
I finally had a chance to have a play with this... utterly fantastic, it will get LOTs of use. Like all the time, every time.
