While I think her default skin is awesome, I still prefer her skin with Altern8 and a few tweaks:

I think Altern8 brings out more of the skin's details and it also reduces the render times vs her default skin settings.
Ollie, Floyd, Alexandra, and Edward also had HD at least temporarily bundled with either the base or the Pro packs. And possibly others, I just knew those because they are ones I have, and I haven't bought the HD separately.
**Scratch Alexandra maybe? Might have been a different discount offer.
Guess I'm just bummed. Having to buy the HD means getting one less addon that's cheaper. I'd have like to get those boots or the sneakers.
Oh, yeah sorry if that wasn't clear, I was just pointing out that it wasn't just Mabel, they had included it in another of other bundles (or bases), but not this time
seems to really be the females that miss out on the hd included think all the males for awhile had it included
btw there is a green banner up extra 10% off code so those haven't bought yet can use this too for extra discount if you have it and it has unlimited uses but you do miss out on the 2 free pro bundles but they were only one day only anyway
or maybe you haven't missed out on the free pro bundles that offer is still up though it may be connected to the new thorne male 8 boy unsure if this is another pro bundle just the promo promoting he's new is showing so far but unsure whether they extended the latonya deals or not

Well that's the only way to do it without creating hundreds of extra polygons to create all the needed wrinkles and that creates a bit of a problem too because when the joints are bent so that the wrinkles are mostly stretched out it will allow more light and the area will more closely match the rest of the skin. Probably should compromise and add a L.I.E. or diffuse overlay or something as a makeup option that is darkened wrinkles for the elbows, knees, knuckles and so on. I know that sounds wierd but I can't imagine they'd model all those wrinkles in there.

I'm overweight, Latonya is buxom. And she has a beautiful face. It's the wardrobe items in this bundle that put me off. I would still have bought the pro bundle, though, for the base character and hair, if it had also included the HD addon. I suppose that's balanced out by the customer(s) who wouldn't have bought the Pro bundle had it included the HD addon. (Poor Daz. Darned if they do and darned if they don't—include the HD addon!)
I was mostly pleased that the larger discounts were also available for those of us who wanted just the base model and some of the add-ons (like the HD ;-) )
My first quickly set up render for Latonya, I really didn't like the eyebrows so I replaced them with the OnFleek ones, other than that everything for the figure is basic settings with the hair and the expression both from the bundle.
Just some thoughts:
1) I just don’t think we’re going for see realistic Asian figures this time. Thankfully, some of the PAs have been making some Asian figures that are better than what DAZ has come up with in the past.
2) Always glad for an extra 10%.
3) I love the idea of the free Pro add-one, but what about those of us who didn’t get any add ones because we owned them already. Admittedly, we got a discount on LaTonya (I think). I think I got the LaTonya Pro (with 2+ add-one) for around $33.
4) Personally, LaTonya is the love child of Bethany 7 and Monique 8.
5) As for the included HDs in pro-packages, they’ve only been a part of the releases of males. When we do get a male release, the number of male figures that come with a release is generally lower when compared to the female releases. As such, I think DAZ has added the HDs to those releases to balance the number of figures one gets with those packages.
Just thoughts.

I don't really agree with those who feel Latonya is replacing Monique. She's just an additional black woman character, who seems to be a wildly different type than Monique. There's both Alexandra and Penny as older, white women. Owen and Lucas are both young, hot (white) dudes. Lillth and Genvieve from last generation were both dark and gothy. (And were apparently replaced by Charlotte.) It's good to have options.
I don't think Monique's gonna be Latonya's tag-along friend. They're probably each other's best arch-Nemesis.
The Alexandra, Edie and Mabel Pro Bundles all came with the HD Add On free at the time of their release.
We're hosed. I thought they'd finally come up with a decent solution by offering alternative bundles, but it seems that DAZ is determined to keep rewarding late adopters over those who buy the products immediately. It's already got to the point where I'm only buying a fraction of the PC+ items on release that I used to, since we all know they'll be knocked down to half price or less within a few months of release, and it looks like I'll be waiting on Latonya for the same reason.
I still don't have a banner. How will I get that extra percentage off if I don't?
Has anyone gotten banners? I've bought dang near every pro bundle clear back to beginning of pro bundles, so no banner??
I don't think there is, or ever was, a banner for Latonya. Some people are reportedly getting a 10% banner today (thanks for purchasing in week 1), but I didn't get it, so I don't know the details. It is not Latonya related.
I pulled the trigger on Latonya yesterday without any banner appearing. It was still a pretty good deal, even if I didn't get any free stuff to go along with it.
Huh. Well I guess I'll go ahead and pull the trigger. I got the pro bundle after all, but my end price is $107.71 because I wanted to buy some clothes that she could actually wear and not be embarrassed. So I got the Groovy outfit, the Day Out outfit and textures for both. Plus added the Joo Joo Sneakers and the Ji Woo Denim boots. Also as my 3 items for price break on the bundle, I got the Nail Bar, Onika, the HD addon, the Panthera textures then my 2 free bundles. I'm spending way more now than I want to, but the discounted prices for those extra outfits, textures, and footwear, but they are worth it in the long run since tons of my characters will benefit down the line, not just Latonya.
Well, I'm off to the races....er, the cart!
Ah, but the green banner discount only applies tp Debut (and not to the still new) new releases; so it won't help with Laytonya Pro.
Awesome render! This sold me on getting the bundle + the HD addon.. (I've yet to get the HD for Zelara and now its $27
) figured the free G3 bundles were worth it + this character is very realistic looking, I really love it that she is curvy and not so thin looking, lots of possiblilities. I was looking at the V7 bundle and really I like her better than the new V8 which was offered up discounted a few times lately and I passed. Definitely going to put "RiversoftArt's clothing converters" on top of my wishlist - thanks for sharing/the tip
I keep hearing about banners, I haven't received any and I bought this and the Zelara Bundle. What is the deal with banners?? After you buy so many you get a discount? - I am still a kind of a newbie here
I get banners every time there is a new figure that's released that has different bundles. My banner usually says something like 'thank you for being a loyal supporter of the Genesis 8 blah blah, so type in this code to get additional percentage off, or just outright you get an extra 10 or 20% off'' If you drink the kool-aid long enough here, they do reward you.
I own Altern8, and would like to know how you tweak the shaders to bring out details, and you say it also reduces render times. What is the method?

I susepct the Alexandra, Edie and Mabel pro bundles included the HD because they are older characters and require a lot more facial detail in order to look believable. That's been my assumption of why they're doing it. I could be wrong.

Have any of you installed Panthera Outfit Textures with Daz Connect (install from inside Daz Studio)? It is all corrupted and unusable for me. I submitted a help request, but I wondered if it is only me or a system wide problem.
