@Richard Haseltine, what combination did you try? Maybe I can see if I can replicate it on my end.
Which items were you expecting to discount? Most of them are not by featured artists, though the Hanging Out outfit is.
Thanks for replying @JackTomalin , I know its been an issue and I am glad to hear that Daz is working on it to make the sales work, but in the meantime it will still affect shopping habits of buyers of what they may or may not purchase at that time unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing a fix down the road. :)
@richard_haseltine - you're right, of course - looks like I got some of the promos mixed up. But the question is still valid for the Hanging Out outfit, since Val3dart is one of the featured artists. It's listed as $4.61, and that's what it is showing up as in my cart. I'm having the same issue with other Val3dart products. I'm testing other artists now to see if the problem is just with Val3dart.
Edit: Yup, the only one giving me issues is Val3dart.
it may be a conflict with the Zelara promo, which also has Val3dart as a featured PA. Do you also qualify for the Zelara promo offer in that cart?
nope, i don't own zelara. at this point, I'm assuming the deal will go away at daz midnight, which would be frustruating but not a big deal. I'll just have to watch for val3dart sales in the future.
Funny. I never noticed the "penny pinching" thing in the Daz Store until just now, because honestly, I'm never really looking at that digit. But I had a purchase to make today and had exactly the right amount of store credit to use ($30.90 sale price with $30.90 store credit, thanks Gift Card Sale!). But when I went to finish the transaction, the system kept telling Requested Payment Method not available. $0.00 credit left, price drops to $0.00, but it won't finish the transaction. Tried a few times, restarted my browser, tried a different device, nothing. So I tried removing one of the items and going again. Boom, works. Put the removed item back in, see the 1 penny price difference between the item in the cart and the final price (weird), but continue on. Final checkout price is right, still enough credit... Boom, works no problem. I figure that the final math was just working out so that the price was $30.901 or something, so one part of the store thought I had enough credit, while the other part did not. Annoying. No reason for this ramble, just blowing off steam. And maybe let others know if something like this happens to them. Perfect amount of credit? Buy stuff seperately.
Not so much penny pinching as it is a result of different methods of rounding discounts. I have even had it occasionally go in the opposite direction and be a penny less in the final price; but at any rate ther usually isn't a difference and when there is I have never seen the difference exceed one cent.
The discounted price on an item never come out exactly to the penny; what is displayed is rounded up or down, but is not removed. In the cart, maybe the rounded prices are added up to give the total, but when checking out, the little bits that you can't see are probably all added up and then the total is rounded off. That could be one reason why it goes up or down a penny.
Did anybody notice that the last couple of regular banner sales specifically state they end Sunday? I wonder if that means DAZ wants to "clear the slate" and start the PA Festival next week.
Seems likely?
Is there a gift card sale? I keep seeing references to one but did not notice it in the store.
It's over now. It just lasted a couple of days earlier this week.
There was, up to 20% off. Pretty sure it's over now, but there'll be another one.
Ah ok, thank you :)
I did find it curious that both are giving 40% off new releases through Sunday. But it makes sense for Daz to encourage sales the last few days before the PA Festival. I just didn't realize the start of the PA Festival was so close!
That's what I get for looking at the date, and not the calendar!

Charlie called it. The PA Festival started today.
now if I can just find where my wallet is hiding…!

Probably no need to find it yet.
I know these things sometimes start out a bit slow but so fat I'm not impressed. I've seen better sales during the summer.
I guess Toon Dwayne got Edward'd. His sales page got pulled within a week.
.
The discounts are nothing special but there ARE three free NEW items so if you can use those items, it's worth it...
Except for the discounts on G2 items that they had for the first hour or so last night. Those were impressive. Something like 3000% to 4000% off.
sooo.. you got paid for taking those items?
I agree. I eagerly looked for the promo email, saw what was offered and pricing, and continued with my work day without worry of missing out on shopping.
I think the pricing is great, but the offerings are lackluster.
I mean, yes, there's been a lot of great sales recently. But I'm always going to appreciate a month (plus) of 40% off new releases, especially with a luscious Faveral set on the horizon.
It usually starts slow. This was just the first day, with not even a single "still new releases" yet. We'll get those today. :)
I hope this PA sale month is not going to be another "meh" sale, like March was. So far the products are mostly average (note: I said mostly, not all), and I don't even consider it a sale event until discounts start at 60%, because 40-50% discounts are everyday discounts.
And I actually have ALL of the 90% Off featured daily items plus the 3 70% items were free yesterday; So, no real incentive there. Looks like another day to save my money.
Yeah, I thought there was a glitch when I saw nothing under the today only deals then thought to sign out and saw I already owned everything. They really have to offer incentives for long time customers. But I'm actually happy. No money to be tempted to spend today!
Today's release are pretty awesome though - I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted. The SimTenero Randomizer 2 is definitely a must have, imo, for anyone who enjoys dialling up new characters. The first one is so cool and it looks like the new one is even better.
The Photographers Toolbox: 35mm Cameras also looks like a great product. And the outfits look cute. The sax is cool. The releases today are really nice, imo. I had trouble trimming down my cart. lol I don't usually get super tempted to get the brand new stuff, but I like most of what I see today. I was super bummed that I had all the 90% off items though - would have been nicer if they'd had a larger selection in that category.
