Thanks for the suggestions for improvement. I did look at a couple reference photos, but it was kind of hard to judge and hard to find the right morphs to dial. We'll call him a pitbull mix.
Don't take it the wrong way but it looks too friendly to be a pit bull, eyes are narrower and there is something about their faces that is mean looking like very short hair, appearing almost bald. Head and body both should look more stocky & heavy boned or maybe it's the eyes looking too big?
There are other terrier types that get lumped in with pit bulls but the once that are renowned for the trouble they are used to make have that beady-eyed look. They come in other colors but this sort is what had me rushing to roll up my car windows and giving it the gas.
Are there more breeds coming out?
I'm inclined to doubt it, unless the PAs take up the torch.
This looks like a pit bull to me. if it had the docked ears it might be a bit scarier looking. But the ones with the floppy ears are cute.
My terrifying Staffie (RIP sniff)
No room left on the couch for humans!
did a plusher rigged fur waaaay too big to share
Are pose preset products sold in the Daz Store supposed to change Pose Control settings or not? I thought pose presets were not supposed to change Pose Controls, but I noticed that the poses in Everyday Dog Poses for Daz Dog 8 (SKU 52773) do change values of Pose Controls. I thought Pose Control bone rotations were supposed to be baked to transforms and not saved as changes to Pose Controls values.
Edit:Today at 16:54
Now I see that Everyday Dog Poses for Daz Dog 8 poses are changing the Dog 8 root node transforms, too. Shouldn't these poses be changing the hip transforms instead? These are not poses to position the dog in a particular part of the scene, and they are not poses to interact with props or other figures. The behavior of poses in Everyday Dog Poses for Daz Dog 8 is inconsistent with the behavior of the poses in the Dog 8 base character product and the poses in the other product I purchased (Daz Dog 8 My Homework Pose Set).
Between the friends...
So many great doggos from everyone. Very inspiring.
I had to share a quick experiment with "Dachshund for Daz Dog 8" and my custom LAMH preset fur in DAZ Studio and Iray. This time I wanted to try some short hair.
I had a dachshund when I was growing up named "Wolfgang" ("Wolfy" for short) and he was obsessed with playing ball. His favorite thing was to roll a football around the yard with his nose. No post work
The short dachsund hair looks very nice.
Thank you, I was concerned it was too subtle. I just used my preset and made the length really short
Oh yes, it looks great. You are very talented.
Happy squad.
I like the newly released dog house; so tempting! Combined with monthly coupon $6 off plus 3 of Victoria's B-day weekend freebies = $2.31 only for 4 items....
Where did you find a football?
It's from https://www.daz3d.com/football-uniform
oops double post I wish you could delete posts ;)
I noticed that Starman (in his Tesla Roadster) is about to cross the orbit of Mars, so I threw this render together just because.
We're coming to get you Starman!
BTW, I found the Roadster (free download) here. I had to assign all of the textures though, those car paint shaders came in handy!
It's a fixed .obj model (no moving parts).
It even says 'Don't Panic' on the center console!
I discovered a very quick method to add long hair to "DAZ Dog 8" in DAZ Studio and Iray. No post work
HAHHHHHHAAAAAHHAHAHA LOVE IT!!
Here is my latest. I posted over in Novica's Art Studio, but I guess I'll share it here in the dog thread. No hair on my dog unfortunately.

No matter how many times I try, and retry, DIM is not able to download Everyday Dog Poses (https://www.daz3d.com/everyday-dog-poses-for-daz-dog-8) for me. Does anyone else have this issue?
I have those and downloaded them just fine, but that was a fair time ago (at least a week ago). I was using DIM, 64-bit latest version.
I think I got it on day 1, or max day 2, it's been trying to download it ever since. 64-bit version of DIM here as well. Strange. Everything else I bought installs and downloads, this is the first product that it simply cannot deal with for some reason.
The log says
WARNING: Network Error while downloading to file "": Error downloading http://hpcl.daz3d.com/Download/52773/IM00052773-01_EverydayDogPosesforDazDog8.zip?SID=[session ID here] - server replied: Requested Range Not Satisfiable
I'll just write to CS, if it is not a general error.
It is bizzare it is picking on that one file. Do you have an anti-virus installed that maybe thinking there is an issue with that zip file?
Can you download it from your Product Library in your account, just so you can get the product and use it?
Hmmm. As a test, I deleted my Everyday Dog Poses package from DIM and redownloaded it. It downloaded fine for me just now.
I just tried, and I can download it manually. I'll put it in the DIM download folder, maybe it'll pick up on that, and install it. It's still strange that my DIM doesn't like it. :)
