Start DIM and select offline mode, you can then see the version.
You can play as long as you don't install plugins, etc. Installing pure content is fine.
Correct: just starting DIM is enough to see the version.
There is less room for confusion by making a general statement like no plugins while DS is running, rather then conditions
.
For some reason DIM wants to update this morning when I signed in. I tried to update it but it gave an error that I forgot to screenshot, oops. Now trying to install it again. Wonder what is going on?
When you star DIM (assuming it gets taht far) you will be propmted to login against the name "INstall Manager" on the banner at the top of that little dialob box will eb the version number (in a small font, black agasint dark grey so a total b!tch to read!) - mine says, now, 1.1.0.98 (64-bit) You'll see a similar thing at the top of the actual DIM screen. If DIM fails to start, go to it's location: C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZ3DIM1 or C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZ3DIM1 (for 32- and 64-bit versions), right-click onthe executable, select Properties, then chosoe the Detaisl tab. The File version is shown there.
There has been a general reccomendation you do not install whisl having Daz Studio open. That may be taking caution too far asI can see no reason why two programs cannot share a databse. That is, after all, what databses are for! However, I'd defer to the suggestion of keeping them separate - I have loaded DIM whilst having DS open, but I do not install, just look.
Got it to start finally and it says it is 1.1.0.98 I think.
It should also say if it's 32- or 64-bit. If stil unsure, start up DIM, and also start up Task manager (or whatever it is calle din whatever version of Windows you have). Look for DAZ3DIM.exe. If it is teh 32-bit version it will have *32 attached to the program name in thelist of running programs. If still unsure, right-click and select 'open fiel location'. That should take you to eitehr under Program Files or Program Files (x86). Again, not a certianty, but if installed in the correct location the 32-bit version will be in Program Files (x86).
Not sure how different thy'll be, but my 64=bit version shows, under Properties as:
Location: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZ3DIM1
Size: 4.81 MB (5,047,696 bytes)
Size (on disk): 4.81 MB (5,050,368 bytes)
Just a minor suggestion for the DAZ team. Make the 64-bit the default one when you visit http://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/ .
I had to go to my product library just to get a manual download/backup for the 64-bit version.
You could've installed it with DIM and didn't have to go and download it manually. After you installed the 32 bit you just hold alt and hit refresh and that will prompt the 64 bit.
The "Alt Refresh" trick doesn't seem to work for me. I manually downloaded the 32-bit .100 installer after seeing the announcement thread. It updated my existing 32-bit IM without any problem. (And downloaded some products without problem.)
Launched, logged in, held Alt, pressed Refresh, got the prompt about the update. Pressed "Update". IM thinks for a couple of seconds, then shuts down, but never re-launches, and the 32-bit version remains installed. (Tried again an hour later, same result.)
End of the IM log file reports:
Application Update Path : C:/Users/<MY ACCOUNT>/AppData/Local/Temp/DAZ3DInstallManager/IM00050873_InstallManagerWin64.zip
Saving Account Settings: Account
--------------- Install Manager exited ------------------
The ZIP file (and the 64-bit installer EXE) did get downloaded to that directory, but apparently the update didn't run. When I re-launch the 32-bit IM, the files in the above path are deleted.
I can install the 64-bit version manually - that's not an issue. It's just that your procedure is failing on my system. IM log file attached.
Updated yesterday to 1.1.0.100 (64bit) and it doesn't recognize the old content. It wants to download/reinstall all of my content again.
Are the download and installation paths correct?
They are the same. I installed some content and the old one is overwritten.
Hi,
I just downloaded the 64 bits version of the install manager and i have an error message from my mac
it says:
"Error running open "/Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1 64-bit/DAZ3DIM.app": LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1 64-bit/DAZ3DIM.app."
I'm using the last version of the installer
do you know guys how it can be fixed ?
Thank you very much
OS version?
My DIM is stuck in the login, update, open up again, login, update, etc etc etc
Download the installer (manual) from your Product Library
I downgraded to the win32-dim and this one is able to see all the installed packages.
..hmm installing the DIM with the DIM. Something entropic about that. ;-)
...received the 64 bit updated installed it, works fine in all aspects. Didn't reload all my old content in the ready to download tab and lets me view installed packages.
When you create the shortcut on your desktop make sure it is the "Daz3DDIM.exe" not "DAZ3DDIM1Helper.exe".
The 64bit DIM doesn't see all of my installed content, guess I'm going back to the 32bit until they figure that out.
Which content doesn't it see?
64 bit?
It downloads at most 2 files at a time from a slow server. It builds indexes limited by the speed of the database server and internet connection.
It's 64 bit purely for the sake of being 64 bit, lol.
That is the second time I have started DIM and it has taken an hour sitting at Not Responding before it populates the interface and gives me something to download. Just as well I am patient and can find something else to do while it just sits there :)
Mac users need, or will soon need, a 64 bit version
...interesting, this is the second time a purchase I made will not show in the DIM. This time it is NGS Angenissis 2.
Glute Control For G3F which is on the same order was there.
I had something liek that with Forsaken Elevator - it turned out the only content fileter flags it has was 'conect available' - not even Daz Studio ones, so support told me to change the download filters in DIM.
...NGS Angenesis shows "Manual Download" and "Install Manager" flags on the product page when I look at it so not sure what the deal is.
DIM 1.1.0.100 64-bit
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 1709 Build 16299.492
Problem: DIM does not download any thumbnails for product preview within DIM anymore ('Retrieve thumbnails'). It still tries to download but there are no results for single, selected or all items. Previously downloaded thumbnails from (uninstalled) 32-bit DIM still are displayed correctly, so DIM 64-bit reads thumbnails from correct path.
Looking at DIM log file it says
( /...../ originally looks like a 32 digit hash that I am not sure if it's account related, so I replaced with ..... , might be fixed folder address from CMS though, don't know )
Calling the address directly in browser should work but gives a 404 not found, so it seems either the images have been moved, or the DIM calls a wrong server folder.
Maybe someone can confirm this ?
Some other finds from log file - a couple files show
and some dozen files come up with
Not sure if these affect working corretly in Studio, but I do not find those in older 32-bit Hlog.txt file.
I'm not sure that's a DIM issue - I had a slew of bad product thmbs in the content I installed with Connect in the middle of the week (and they were bad in the Install pane), Most, if not all, of the items I downloaded on the same day with the 64-bit DIM do have thumbnails. I would suspect some other issue, server side.
