Hypnagog is a thing but they can't make an updated version of a Martial Arts uniform. Yeah I'm sure people were lined up begging for Hypnagog.

“They” also cannot make a realistic football uniform either.

    It does look odd.

    Ooohhhh LOL

There's a vendor called Hypnagogia, Didn't realize that one of today's releases had nearly the same name.

Talk about comparing apples to oranges... Target market for those two kinds of items is totally not the same.

At least compare clothing items/ lol

I think it's a unique figure and there are a bunch of martial arts/mma outfits and uniforms in the store.

But long as we're here, what did you want updated?

    -madefor Gen 8?

    - new patterns?

    - a more modern/trendy/current uniform that practicioners are wearing?

    - iray materials?

    - dforce?

    What, man what?

'They' are a bunch of creators with different interests and goals who make things they want to make rather than what they've been given as an assignment.

I guess my point was that a Martial Arts uniform would be more useful than super stylized mutant. I was just venting. I'm sure it took work to make and I hope it sells well. I check everyday and there will be a bunch of sci-fi vehicles or a bunch of products relating to trailer parks or something. And that's totally fine in my book. I actually bought all that trailer park stuff because I thought it was fun. I just keep hoping for new uniforms because there hasn't been an update on them in awhile. I know it's niche. Again, I was just venting.

Hypnagog does look like it could be a birth defect. Glad the pool goers he is with in the renders don't make their surprise and concern too obvious.

Since you asked...I was hoping they would come out with some for G3. The most recent ones that exist are for Gen2. There was a stylized "Fighter Uniform" released on Rendo for G3 but I was hoping for just the regular Gi/Dobok. The existing ones come with R/W/B materials and the belt colors can be edited. In my dreams, this is what I'd love to see...

Gen3 Uniforms (Male and Female or even just one and lean on auto-fit) Karate Style(wrap jacket) Taekwondo Style(V neck) with varous colors/designs, patch options, designs on the back, assorted belt colors that come with it. (Currently I have to adjust belt colors using swatches from Google Image and messing with the surface tools) That would be my dream. I say Gen3 because most of my characters are Gen3, though I am phasing over to Gen8. But Gen3 clothing works on Gen8 where as Gen8 clothes aren't backwards compatible.

Let's see...what else...yes Iray would be best and d-Force...honestly, it scares me and I have no clue how it works. I bought some Dynamic ones for Gen2 but could never get them to work in any way that was reliable.

Again, that's me crossing my fingers and toes.

Can you use Shaders with the belts?

Go into the Surface Pane and select the belt part of the outfit and change the color and fabric.

-Using shaders sounds quicker than whatever the swatches thing is, but maybe you are describing the same thing and JUST changing the color.......

Hahaha! I had that same thought too. Maybe he has a great personality and makes the best guacamole!

In theory shaders work, sure. The trick is having a shader with the right color/hue. I normally just google image "Blue Cotton texture" and find the one that looks best, save it to my "Materials>Textures" folder on my desktop and browse to it. No biggie on the belts

Given martial arts outfits (or at least the ones I have seen) tend to be fairly loose fitting, I would have fought dForce would be essential, particularly for high kicking actions shots when the clothing would be flying around as well.

I agree and I'm sure any d-Force Martial Arts outfit would look amazing when draped/rendered right. From what I understand, that's user level stuff. The clothing has the ability, I just need to know how to use it and I'm sorta like that kid with floats on that runs up to the edge of the pool but still can't bring herself to jump in :P

Best idea is to throw caution to the wind, and jump in at the deep end! :-)

While I haven't tried autofitting to G3, I've found the G2 martial arts uniforms - at least the ones by IH-Kang (that is, the "fight uniforms") take dForce pretty well, though you need to be sure that the G2 Females have a sports bra on

    To you, yes.

But whilst some would agree, there are others who wont.

There is a optitex Martial Arts Gi; Genesis 2, so should work pretty well with dforce; updating the shaders shouldn't be that tough, and likely easy.

Oh I didn't know dforce worked with older clothes. I thought it had to be dForce spefically. And yes I have that uniform.

I tryied dForce with the Genesis 2 gi and it didn't work to well because I didn't stiffen up the gi enough. If you've done tai kwon do or similar you know those gis are very thick heavy canvas cotton. At least there were when I did that. That are dForce paramters you can adjust to make it work right but I hope you have an nVidia card or something to speed up your trial and error.

Don't forget that in theory dForce should work well with other clothing made for alternative dynamic engines, for example the Optirex system, or Poser dynamics. Whilst they do not have the specific material settings tuned for dForce, at least the clothing should be properly welded together, and will not fall apart during simulation.

Martial arts outfits, poses and content aren’t huge sellers at the daz store unfortunately. I’m not even sure we’ll see a Lee or Mei-Lin this generation... but who knows. You may have to settle on kitbashing one from an older set.

dForce can be applied to just about anything, though how well it works on older clothes can be hit or miss, depending on how the older clothing item is constructed.

Eh, after enough washing and wearing, they're not significantly stiffer (though still heavier) than new quilting cotton.  Or at least, such is the case for my daughter's uniform at this point (she's had this one for about three years).  The demo team uniform is lighter (and I think is a poly-cotton blend, rather than the cotton canvas of the main uniform)

I did increase the stiffness a bit on this image, though I don't remember how much.  I also played with the contract-expand setting on the belt to get it to tighten, but not too much so that the belt ends wouldn't shrink.

There's the dforce Master - Cloth Simulation Presets product is a great place to start experimenting. Since there wasn't a guide for each of the many presets, I've been doing an unofficial one here. I've purposely chosen outfits that predated dforce to see how well they take the simulation. I've gotten some explosions, some dissappearing garments, but I've also been surprised by some outfits that work with dforce out of the box. Others need some weightmapping, but nothing too extreme.

Oh mine are, I don't keep them so long that they turn yellow. They must be 1/8th inch thick although I never measured them.
