I think I need to have a talk with my platies about safe sex.  I did not do that with the guppies when I got them but now there are a lot of guppies.  I wonder if it is too late to tell the guppies about safe sex.  or will both the guppies and platies just ignore me and do what livebearing fish do best (mulitply)?

Once they're dead they divide pretty well too.

You ever have one of those days?

You ever have one of those years?

On the plus side everyone went out tonight and left me home alone and I decided to just read forum posts and drink this bottle of margarita-agave-wine-mix thing I found in one of the basement fridges.

Yeah... I can honestly say... I feel relaxed now.

    Actually, not entirely...

The phone kept ringing, so I threw it out the window... But apparently we have a set of six phones and all of them were left within three feet of where I'm sitting... Each time the phone rang, it startled me, and despite throwing the previous one out the window, another made its presence known...

There are five phones outside now... I hope it doesn't rain tonight, because I'm not going outside to pick them up.

They were all scam "spoofed" numbers anyway, so it was okay to throw them out the window.

It took me three minutes to remember the word for "scam numbers pretending to be local numbers"...

I think I probably shouldn't finish this whole bottle without eating something... But the refrigerator is so far away and gravity has suddenly gotten sooooo much more picky about what is horizontal and what is vertical.

    Anyway...

I hope everyone is okay and doing fine... Sorry I haven't posted in a long time, but I'm really annoying and you are all probably better off without me making long stupid posts... But I do stop by frequently and read up on what you folks post and what's going on... I just don't have anything of much consequence to contribute so I just read.

Well, I think I'm gonna go find something food-like in fridges... I wish the stupid floor wasn't so tilted... Well, later folks.

Got some platies but forgot to ask for the return policy is.  I think it is a week or so.  The receipt says that I have sixty days to return them but “Items must be re-sellable and returned in original packaging with all parts included.”  Slight issue is that the only time I can think of returning a platy  is when the platy  is dead within a week of purchase.  I do not want a dead platy but I do not know of any reason to return a healthy platy to the pet store.

Oops they only charged me for three platies when I got four. I owe them $1.24 plus tax.  Or I could figure out which platy I was not charged for and return her.  Or what am I supposed to do?

You should swap out the usable parts from the dead platy with any parts that have wear and tear on the live platys... I hope you saved the water, because I believe that is part of the original packaging.

    Mmmmm... Platy water...

um, I did not discard of the water but it is in the tank with the rest of the water.  I am not sure about the swapping parts.  Hopefully I will not have to return any dead fish.

Swapping parts is easy... Technically... Probably... I dunno... I suppose it might be... A little Krazy Glue and some duct tape... That works for nuclear reactors, it should work on fish...

Hopefully none of the fish die, but I would separate the store water from your higher quality home water, just in case you need to return one of the platys in the event it turns out to be a sociopathic platy or has chronic fish flatulance or something.

    Did that work?

It seemed too simple... Nothing exploded and I didn't have to throw anything out the window.

Morning. Bright new-day sun  and a slight breeze leaving delightful dappled dancing shadows under our trees. Seem to have slept through a whole week and the first decent rain this year - 21 mm(!) - everything is smelling fresh except me think coffee breakfast and  a swim and a shower might be in order, but not necessarily that order :)

I think they can... I'm not sure... My step grandfather had a pet store and I think he managed that... Or maybe it was just a really weird hybrid... I forget...

That was like a millions years and three other mes ago...

Well... Either way, genetic impossibilities won't bother Mr. Guppy... They have no issues trying... Naughty little boogers.
