I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to break a model up to look like it was smashed or destroyed. I have hexagon and blender but only basic knowledge of the tools inside it.
I do have some ruins and debri sets but I need to blow things up in my comics.
Thanks in advance!
This is why I haven't completely abandoned Poser yet; you can cut a model into tiny pieces and turn the parts into props..
I could use some help with this picture of Destiny. I think this looks okay, but I don't like how her hair blends in with the background. Perhaps a glow around her head would work, but I don't know how to do something like that. I'm also not totally happy with her face, though it's hard to explain. Any ideas wold be greatly appreciated.
You could add a rim light to add highlights to the hair on that side, but you'd need to figure out where that light is coming from. Possibly some tell-tales (equipment lights) on that side? Another thing you could do is add some reflection to the inside of the cockpit canopy. That would make the canopy a little less transparent, and not quite as dark.
I was recently reading a book about cinematographic lighting and rendering in CG. The author made an interesting point. Audiences don't need a 'reason' for a particular light source. This kind of thing is routinely 'faked' in movies, and was especially used back in the days of black and white film making. B & W is particularly prone to this kind of unwanted blending between subject and background. The experiences of these early movie makers are the primary reason we have such techniques as 'rim lighting' today. Reflections can also be 'faked' to a degree. An accurate reflection should be used if it is necessary to make an important story point.
Basically, the point is: make it look good and don't worry as much about making it 'real.'
I have searched and never found any....and yes going digital I no longer have to work about page count or that 100 pages of full color will cost $50 per copy
NOTE: ADULT CONTENT - not porn, but not for kids either as content based on a day in the life of a social worker...and it isn't that pretty most of the time.
Well, it's actually not a risque comic. It's actually very family friendly. There are no scantily clad women, no vulgar language. There's romance, but no explicit sexual situations. As far as why I didn't change the figures, I simply like them the way they are, and most people are not familiar with DAZ so they're not going to recognize Michael 4 or Mindy or Reby Sky. I hope you'll check out the comic. I think you'll like it!
Just a note for galatica1981 and others who did the download and then found that the CBZ format wasn't supported by your system..
The Comic is stored in the CBZ format. However, it's a series of full page JPGS. To read the story easily you don't need PDFlite or anything special. Everyone should be able to do this.
1) Change the CBZ extension to zip. (MaxRodgers.cbz to MaxRodgers.zip)
2) Make a folder for it.
3) Unzip the contents to the newly made folder. Any unzipper will do. I use Winrar.
4) Open the folder with your favorite graphic viewer and enjoy this young man's offering.
I used the Windows slide show to read his story. It's exactly as he stated above. Rather PG-13 in rating.
I tried doing this and it didn't work. When I changed the extension to zip the file still opened like a CBZ would.
Oooh ...! Good.
I'm glad you decided to support by an image editor (gimp). every artist that values not live without an image editor.
Glad the decision.
It's great to see how your style has evolved, and the improvements are clear to see. As a personal project, I've been working on a comic of my own, though it's a more traditional panel-style comic rather than the large pane ones you and Bobvan create. It's an interesting challenge trying to create a story and images to match that narrative.

Can someone tell me what I'm missing here?
Here is a panel from my new Buffy digital comic book!
I started a thread for it here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24243/
Check out my final version of the cast photo! This is perfect!
Here's another panel that will be in my comic book. I think you'll agree my lighting skills have improved!
I'd call it a dramatic improvement!
Thanks! I'm using a technique called layering in GIMP which saves a lot of time.
Oooh ...! Good.
