...well had a nice relaxing mini adventure of my own on a very springlike day yesterday. Took a nice long walk stopped to chek the PO box at the post office, then meandered my way up to northwest where I stopped at my favourte second hand store and picked up a couple "new" shirts (including a nice Hawai'ian one), After that went to the Blue Moon (my old hangout from decades ago when I lived in that area) to sit in the sun and sip a couple pints of crisp dry cider.  Simple pleasures in life can make for a very good day.

Now calling for 80° by mid week next week.  Hope this finally drifts eastward to thaw out folks on the other side of the country.  I remember seeing that a baseball game in Minneapolis was "snowed out" last weekend and another one in St Louis was cancelled early this week because of the cold weather.

On the morning of 8th, Stevens Point WI had a record low of 0° (F), 31° below the normal low for that date.

Finally beat off that virus with Theraflu and spicy curry chicken (just in time for allergies to kick in).

Everyday is a good day for fish fry.  My fish fry love exploring my tank, eating my fish food, and all fish fry stuff they do including staying out of the adult fish’s mouth.

Edit Oh you did not mean baby fish but fried fish.   Never mind.

Edit I have more than one adult fish.  Obviously as it takes two adult guppies to make a lot of guppy fry which is what I have.

....maybe a High Speed Centrifuge?  Though you'd probably end up with fish paste instead. (fine if you want sushi on the ISS I guess).

Hopefully that coupon will last until tomorrow night when I hopefully will have enough money on my card to get something with it.

    NonComplaints

    Expecting some money tomorrow

Planning on getting an iPad soon.  Probably sometime in May.

My fish fry are doing well.

    Complaints

My bed is broken (but getting a new one soon)

got a complaint from a customer at work yesterday.  Just found about it today.

One of my goldfish died.  Now I only have 3 goldfish left.

Um, the forum is keep double spacing instead of single spacing what I type.

I have two domains but one active hosting package.  That package says that it is only for one website or something like that.

Non-complaint:  I had an old customer call me up complaining of wireless network problems.  I did a house call and out of caution took a couple of wireless routers with me.  Sure enough his old old old LinkSys router had died.  I offered him a used "G" NetGear router replacement which would have sufficed, but he ended up taking the new, still unopened, dual channel "N" LinkSys router I had with me (I'd bought it for me unnecessarily, so was glad to sell it to him)  So I made just enough money to pay for the dentist appointment I have next week. frown

Complaint:  Decisions, decision, decisions. indecision I have enough excess money from my computer fix-it job yesterday, burning a hole in my pocket and there's a symphony in Buffalo at Kleinhan's Music Hall tomorrow afternoon.  The roads are clear.  The weather is wonderful.  The music is Dvorak's "New World" symphony.  It's one of my absolute favorites.   Plenty of good seats are still available. smiley  But I have a dentist appointment next week that will need to be paid with unsaved money I won't have if I go to the symphony.frown   I could pull some money out of savings but I just put that money into savings.  What's the point of savings if you don't save it?

Non-complaint:  Ah ha!  I just had a thought.   There is a Popeye's chicken franchise in Buffalo.  I've been hungering for some chicken from Popeye's for several years.  I could go to Buffalo a little early, have lunch at Popeye's instead of a more expensive restaurant, then go to the symphony.  And if I go really early in the morning I can get up to Niagara Falls for a quick look at The Falls too.   If I call all these things an adventure instead of just a mini-adventure, I can justify the expense of an adventure  And besides, the dentist bill won't come due until the insurance company grinds it through their mill a month or two from now.  Decision made! smiley  I'll even splurge and get a glass of champagne during intermission. yes

Isn't it amazing how easily we can justify our desires. surprisedevil

Dvorak's symphony #9 "From The New World": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HClX2s8A9IE  2nd movement at 10:10;  3rd movement at 22:20; 4th movement at 30:00  A very powerful piece, much suited to the excellent acoustics of Kleinhan's Music Hall.  I think I'll bring a kite with me to see if I can fly it in the sound waves generated at the finale of the piece. cool

A department store has some nylon stockings on sale for $3.  I then saw that shipping and handling cost $10.  No thanks.  I'll just take the bus to the store instead.  I wonder if the cost for shipping went up?  I don't think the price was this high before.  That is my complaint for the week.

Perhaps if you bought stockings by the gross, the shipping would be reasonable?  But, yeah!  I've stopped shopping at stores where they stick you for the shipping.  I know that small stores have to do it because they don't have contracts with shipping companies for guaranteed mega-volumes of shipping per year and without one, then $10 is about the minimum it costs to ship any small individual item anywhere. sad  I'd rather deal with Amazon or NewEgg or other big stores where they make megadeals with the shipping entities and also dilute the shipping costs into their entire spectrum of prices and catalog buying schemes.

But you can take heart from my experience.  I reported several weeks ago about my problem buying six unmounted gemstones at an on-line auction for $11.  yes  Great deal until they sent me the invoice that added about $2.50 tax and $500.00 for shipping! surprise  Needless to say, I didn't pay it.  I complained and they reduced the shipping to $100.00 which I did pay but they never sent my stones.  I complained again and again for almost 4 months until I'd finally beaten enough people over the head with my documentation that they finally lied and said that they couldn't find the stones so they were returning my money.  The money was returned and has now been spent again on something else. yes  Moral of story:  Watch out for shipping costs!

..yeah I run into that from time to time.  Found a replacement for the piano cup which unfortunately was badly chipped (a nice big mug with a piano keybaord motif around it) on Amazon for 3.99$ then saw the shipping cost: 12$!  Nope.

So back to haunting second hand stores for one as it is not made anymore.

...nice day yesterday and again today (heading out in a bit to enjoy it) in spite of the original forecast calling for overcast and highs only in the 50s (currently mid 60s).  Summer for real next week, now forecasting low to mid 80s
