Textures that are a little more realistic (ie, not so clean) for things like clothes AND sets. Real walls have dirt, cobwebs...at least some cracks, even in the cleanest house. I'd love to see some clothing texture sets that have tears, worn spots and a little dirt. ;)

    Laurie

...yeah I have issues with urban sets where the streets and pavement look so clean you could eat off of them.

  • I'm surprised that cats & dogs don't sell but they must not of because what are they called? Millenium Cat & Millenium Dog and that was nearly 20 years ago. I don't mind but please get word out to my neighbors.

Personally my number one wishlist item is LAMH 2.0 with save functionality to save in LAMH Catalyst format.

Seeing as I still only want Guy 8, Girl 8, and Boyfriend of Sakura 8. I will probably just buy AM animals and PC+ items with my coupons this PC+ calendar year. I could stand to add more hair styles too.

It's not that animals don't sell, it's more likely that none of the artists that work for DAZ feel that they can do justice to them compared to the human figures. I think that's part of the reason they reached out to another site that has good quality real world animals last year.

...Alessandro does pretty amazing work here and did meantion a short while back a new (little) cat is forthcoming.  I looked at he Hivewire cat and it still seems a bit "stylised".

  • wishes:

    - a wookie, by Rawar

    - a lemur by AM

    - more tutorials (with subtitles)

    - anything by Stonemasson

Last time I saw him mention an upcoming cat was September 2016, ie almost 18 months ago. Have you seen a more recent comment from him regarding this?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 42,048

...I believe there was mention sometime in August of last year.  Don't remember the thread.

  • My wish:

Content for the almost non existent eras:

-Before Ancient Egypt streets of generic town, clothing, everyday props (Bronze Age Sumerian, Micenan...)

-Stone age non-sapien race shapes for genesis 8, props and tools, conforming hairs for non sapiens races, all non sapiens skins

-After Victorian era and first XX century years: 1900-1910 noveau style streets of a generic invented city, mercedes nexus and the first cars after victorian era, fire weapons, clothing and props between the after of victorian era and before First World War . Noveau clothing for Bethany 8, a clothing line for the very early years of XX century (1900-1910)

-More nightmarish monsters with morpheable variances

I will have to think on this, as there are lots of things I want that do not exist.  But what I currently wish for is dforce garments of the generic fantasy type (peasants, blacksmiths, normal people, not spell casters or demon creatures) for both male and female. There have been quite a few modern outfits for dforce but the couple of outfits that went out for fantasy did not really have the level of detail or style I need.

  • More cars, and variety of car parts...

I was able to import this Supra into daz and open the hood, cut the doors add all the materials to their proper zones. Made plenty of mistakes

learned a few things though, tools I never knew about in daz (geometry editor is really good!) The car lacks bones though, so opening and closing things is kinda funky right now.

But yeah, good detailed car models is what I'd like to see.

upgraded 3Delight, Iray and dForce. I'm still waiting for native motion blur support for DAZ's Iray.

updated regular animals. The store has several excellent dinosaurs but it's lacking good looking cats and dogs.

    more male figures

    better Studio software documentation

  • A steam locomotive would be nice to have with extra cars and caboose. Train interiors with lighting. Don't forget the steam! More Daz Studio tutorials, more content creation kits.

    Hmmm:

Male facial hairs, such as sidburns and the like, with finer hairs. Not big grassy hairs.

Retro pinup male and female. Not like the girl/guy but more realistcally propportioned. More adult looking. Retro WWII outfits

    Improved male bulges

Superhero male and female base in the clsssic style

    Military uniforms with different ranks

Sci-fi uniforms that don't look like an existing tv show propery

    More male underwear.

Tanned skins with tanlines, but not the geoshell stuff. Classic tans.

More fantasy appropriate scenes and buildings from Stefan Morrell (Stonemason).

My preference would be "Streets of Suburbia".

While more Stonemason of any kind is always worth looking forward to, the original poster's wish for "more normal, every day, real world stuff" is something I would appreciate too. Hence, suburbia. Yes, there are some individual houses available from other vendors you can try to kitbash into a neighborhood, but it lacks the cohesiveness you find in Stonemason's wonderful environments.

    Happy Almost-New Year folks! :)

Good point.  I'd also like more "Urban residential" which is to say more bungalows (I have the old Collective 3D one, I want a few more variations) and two flats and such.  Collar suburbs (at least around Chicago) tend to look more like residential neighborhoods in the city than what most people envision when it comes to Suburbia.

...he was working on such a set several years ago but not sure what happened.

I am working on finishing up that set as we speak!  30 houses, garages, lawns, streets, sidewalks, driveways, trees, shrubs, street signs, utility poles, street lights, fire hyrants... the whole works!

Daz Shop propose a lot of valuable items, even the old Generation 4 content is amazing and is still useful in 2018.

    My wishes for 2018 :

    • 8th Generation figures : Lee 8 and Kenji 8
    • Wearables : Sci-fi clothing for male (casual, sports, ...)
    • Places : Large sci-fi place with a few of props like KindredArts' The Citadel
    • HDRI : Sci-fi environments like Flipmode's ExoPlanet
    • Props : Sci-fi construction kit for bedroom/crew quarters, bathroom/restroom, canteen/kitchen for futuristic apartment and spaceship

More fantasy appropriate scenes from Stonemason, more cute little furry animals from Alessandro Mastronardi, more monsters from Herschel Hoffmeyer and more historical / fantasy ball gowns from anyone.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

You can stack planes of images to give apparent depth. From what I've seen in videos of how some of the big screen stuff gets made, they stack layers of images together to make a final image. I imagine if they were doing a render like yours they probably wouldn't hire extras to sit in bleachers, they'd take some images and duplicate them and place them on planes or something like that.

When I played a groupie in Oliver Stone's "The Doors" movie, they literally had large cardboard cutouts of people in the back rows of the concert scenes! I guess they were pretty old school back then LOL.

Add me to the long list of people who want this!

And working everyday clothes. And with working I mean zips that can be opened and morphs for putting the clothes on or taking them off, jackets with a closed and opened state and clothes, that would at least have a chance to be worn without having to use double faced tape or some invisible anti-gravity device build in. Oh, and of course there should at least be a theoretical chance to get a body within them, without having to either go etheral or taking off limbs and putting them back on later again like its done with a mannequin. Way too many clothes defy gravity and could never be put on by a normal human body, due to a cut that only works if they are sewn on the living body...

And some more non-american stuff. European houses look different than american houses. As do european cities. But even the option to change some of the textures - shop signs etc. - would be great.

Or more european stuff of all types of things. Like european food... police uniforms... furniture... everyday stuff.

...still hoping for a complete English country manor, whether modular like the old "Dream Home" or as a single product with interiors.

I too would like cats, dogs, kittens, puppies of varying breeds we haven't seen before...

Also hair from different times in history. Mod 60's hair, 20's, 30's, 40's, all throughout time really and more clothes from other eras to match.

Clean, futuristic Sci-fi stuff, not grungy or worn, kind of like 60's movies depiction of the future, sleek, clean, and maybe some future tech inventions, not weapons but future ways real people might live in 100 or more years depicted in an idyllic way, beautiful, clean, sleek...  Future technology...

Women's handbags! All sizes, styles, that can open and close.  Other women's stuff, makeup, perfume in several style bottles, modern and sci-fi/fantasy jewelry, toiletries... I know I have some mixed in with sets and some freebies, but often it's hard to find them so it would be great to have a big pack of women's handbags and stuff you'd find inside her bag or in her bathroom. And money, credit cards, passport (with a photo we can change), wallets, pens, phone charger, smart phone with phone cover and mapped textures we can easily customize in Photoshop, nail polish, lipstick, blush, powder, eye shadow, mascara, makeup bag that zips open and closed, small mirror for purse, curling iron, flat iron, hairbrush, comb, blow dryer, toothbrush, toothpaste, electric toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer jars, all the things you might find in a woman's purse and bathroom together in one or two packs. Also shopping bags. And have several material zones and maps for everything so we can create our own brands and styles.

More clothes that you can unzip or unbutton and can move with dials and not dforce. And more designer high end trendy clothes that you might find in fashion magazines, I have enough jeans, T's, hoodies and simple little dresses, more high end real world fashion is needed! Clothes Paris Hilton or the Kardashians would wear... (funny, spell check knew the word "Kardashian".)

OK, I think that's it for now! I'll probably think of more later!

I'd rather have more stuff from the continent. Considering that quite a few houses in the USA are built from british examples, there are - in my opinion - quite a few buildings in the shop that could pass as british. But where's the french, german, italian etc. farm houses? Wood and whitewashed plaster buildings, like in many german towns.. only some fantasy and pseudo historical ones can be found.

No that I wouldn''t like an english manor house... but there would be so many more other things around from all over europe...

It's funny reading these threads as it seems to me that we need many more PAs so that some of these items can be produced, but then again is there a big enough market for more PAs to make it worthwhile for them, hmmm.

I still haven't figured out how to get content from a zip file into Daz Studio without manually opening it up and putting each thing individually into the right folder. For Poser on my Mac I have an app that does that for me but I have yet to figure out how to "extract" a zip file into the DS library. For that reason I buy less DS stuff from other sites because I can't use DIM...  In Windows, the zip file doesn't even actually open, it lets you see what's inside but I have to move the files inside to another folder. I'm a Mac person, new to Windows. Could anyone explain how to extract a zip file on a Mac or PC into DS???

  • Some kind of moon dial... for night renders on Iray

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,704

You can open the zip if you right click the zip and select extract it. Usually to a folder you have created.

Windows has built-in I zip file extraction capabilities, plus there is a way to take those zip files and make them compatible with DIM in the store.
