Oh no oh my I must confess

That my clothes are quite the mess

I had to put some trash outside

The stupid rain then soaked my hide

On the sidewalk there was crud

Turns out it was runny mud

Now I curse it like a pox

Because the mud soaked through my socks

Who knew it was such a pain

Coming from small drops of rain!

The sky is dim and cloudy gray

There's not much hope for Sun today

The birds are sleeping in the trees

If it gets colder, they might freeze

The cars that pass are moving slow

They have no clue as where to go

I have fresh biscuits soaked with butter

And tons of coffee so I don't sputter

I'm learning how to lay a flloor

And several ways to hang a door

'This Old House' is lots of fun

Those guys thy sure can get thing done

It might rain soon, I've got a cramp

Best close the window or I'll get damp!

At least here in the city centre there's no mud, but feet still get wet and that makes me cold all over.

My roommate is talking loudly to herself.

Pick up your phone and set it to camera and point it at her...that should make her stop.  I take no responsibility for her reaction however!  blush

    Pork and beans done!

Used one large can of Bush's Maple Beans, 1/2 a pound of pork sausage, and a touch of butter. Browned the pork in the air fryer, cooled then crumbled it into the beans and butter, mixed well and now it's sitting in the fridge where all the flavors will mix.  It already tastes amazing!

Next time it'll be Bush's country style beans and the other 1/2lb of the pork.  I considered hot dogs but I wanted something a little more upscale.

Still have one last container of biscuits left for later today.  I'm also thawing polish sausage to slow bbq sometime soon.  I grabbed 2 kinds of bbq sauce on sale so I can 'que m sausage, chicken, and hot dogs.

I hope the rain clears soon, I need more exercise! :-O

    I'm sitting here unhappy

    'Cause the weather's pretty crappu

All the birds are quite annoyed

So crowded trees I'd best avoid

Or some bird might just lay a splat

Right on my fancy cowboy hat

You know that birds sure can be rude

I might just shoot one for my food

Although I'm sure that you must know

It's not so fun when eating crow. :-|

What is the difference between eating crow and eating chicken?

  • McGyverMcGyver Posts: 7,096

You have remove the feathers yourself with crow, and the sauces are limited... Chicken comes in nugget form and uncooked, they make great alarm clocks.... Only it's considered animal cruelty if you throw them across the room for waking you up early... And there is no snooze button.

Chicken is typically fed a kind of feed that makes the meat taste decent.

Crows eat anything and consequently taste horrible.  Way less meat on a crow too.  Classically, eating crow is used to mean having to eat your words, which is pretty distasteful.

Have you seen Peter Rabbit?  There is a rooster in that movie that is so funny!

Darn darn darnity-darn darn!  It's supposed to hit 84f on Saturday, then 70f Sunday, then 68f on Monday.  Wide range of temps this week, no chance to get used to the weather.  Not going to be fun at all. :-/

My chicken nuggets don't work,  what brand do you use that double as alarm clocks?

I've never hag a chicken nugget make noises at me.   I HAVE had my digestive system make loud unhappy noises after eating chicken nuggets, though.  That was alarming enough for me!! :-O

Today's food experiment: roasted and barbequed red potato wedges.  Very successful!  Clean and cut taters, coat in a light spray of veggie oil, roast at 350f for 20 minutes, coat with a thick slather of honey/molasses bbq sauce, mix well, back into air fryer for 30 minutes.

perfectly cooked taters with a carmelized glaze of sweet/hot sauce.  OMG tasty and filling!

Total cost of ingredients: $1.50 worth of taters, about $1.00 worth of bbq sauce.$0.25 worth of paper towel used as a napkin...
