...Wisconsin will be out of the NCAA tournament the first time in years....Oh wait...the sale...my bad....however, my bankcard is also feeling the about the same as Wisconsin.
hmm ...day #1 ... i need to wait until March. but day 1 nothing i would buy anyway..well, maybe Shangrila ... but more interested in the hair she's wearing. Its not maddening yet.
Well I'm going on vacation to India and Germany until 21 March and am only interested in 3DU oldies going on sale, so I'll miss out on this one. Maybe they'll have a catch-up sale sometime after I get back. One or two of these yearly sales seem to have catch-up weekends if I remember correctly.
Course if i a bunch of $1.99 and other PC+ stuff goes on sale I'll pick though that too when I get back.
Hmmm...if today's sale is madness, then March won't be so mad. It more or less resembles any other sale IMVHO. Oh well....

Yeah, since they've gone to near daily promotions, the "big sales" (with the exception of the PC+ anniversary) haven't particularly stood out. That the various gimics they've tried over the past few years are generally not met with much enthusiasm...
Well, as every old-timer knows, the big sales are ultimately aimed at new blood.... but they usually manage to produce a few things even the most jaded get excited by. Because they save them up, I suppose.
Though-- while I'm not as jaded on Day 1 as some are, I _have_ been trying hard to figure out what I'd be really excited by at this point. New Stonemason is always pretty, but usually beyond my price point. The Magix treehouse is not grabbing me. New characters don't really get me anymore, although I do seem to keep buying them occasionally -- I just bought Shangrila because she's perfect for a story character. I might finally splurge on a new Arki or Ignis outfit? Maybe MICK Gothic?
I like the hair and the bathroom. Hair has a unisex female hairline though which bugs me but it has more fullness being curly so perhaps it can be excused as being fuller.
the bathroom im curious about. If anyone gets it can you tell me if the toilet seat actually opens and is there anything like water inside it?
If anyone buys that Maintenance Room, do let me know if the step ladder, and wet floor sign are rigged. Even for only $3 I can't really justify buying that unless everything in the set that should move does, since I could make all of that stuff myself. With minimal effort.

The update for Hexagon
Iray Faster Render helper thingie....
MORE AND BETTER 3D FX.
- some explosions (Somebody figure that out, already)
- Debris
- more fire
- More fog and haze
- an easy 3D prop lazer beam. light beam...
- More interesting HDRIs with crazy backdrops and the SAME Backdrop with no landscape, just the sky.

oh wait. Where was I?
Oh yeah- there's no movement on the wet floor sign or the step ladder. Interestingly enough the wet floor, yellow sign, comes in its closed position and you'd have to bring in a second prop and connect them together to actually make it look like the sign is in use.

I am actually eagerly awaiting Magix's tree house..
Nah. I've got a trip at the end of the month (AwesomeCon in D.C., baby!), and autographs/photo ops go on pre-sale for VIPs tomorrow. Trip stuff >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Daz March Madness
Oh, lucky you. It looks like even Stan Lee will be there
I don't care even an iota about Stan Lee. I'm going more for the Guardians of the Galaxy guests, haha!
Several years and at least one store software update back - when the store would also accept vouchers as real cash and we got cash vouchers in the $1 to $3.50 range based on the basketball scores of favored teams.
Followed by the 'stacking' sales that dove half of us nutz trying to keep track of the conditions - and screwed up returns because the resulting purchase discount would decrease. . .

All righty, thanks for the info. I'll pass then. ters
Actually, all the props are disappointing. The zeroed versions all come in in the same relative positions as in the scene. Six canisters on this shelf, one down there. Five scattered screwdrivers in a fixed layout. Three sets of detergent bottles on three different levels. Single pieces can be manipulated, but groups of items come in as a single prop, so you can't split them up. Nothing is rigged (hello, lockers) or morphs in any way.

Really, not even the lockers are rigged?? But one of the promos shows the door open? Or is the locker door a seperate piece that would need to be rotated?
This is wild. I'd expect that in a freebie, but not something you'd pay for.

OMG that new character.
(Please remember to keep images to 800 px)
https://www.daz3d.com/shangrila-for-genesis-3-and-8-female
And for gen 3 and 8.
Does BOTH generations.
That's what's needed. Full support. I love that.
I vote vendor of the year, figure category.
Shangrila was previously released at Renderosity for G3F only. Mousso says only reissues will include both generations.

how long ago that it was really mad ?
more mediocre last years
It's not very mad either.

Yes indeed - thank you DAZ! (Now I just have to locate the money to buy it)
I definitely remember that last year’s March Madness grew over time. At the beginning of the month: meh. By April: Aieee!
I get the impression the Pro Bundle releases at MM discounts contribute to that sense of insanity.
Hmmm...if today's sale is madness, then March won't be so mad. It more or less resembles any other sale IMVHO. Oh well....

I think Marketing needs new blood.
+1
I just don't need another female character.....
Too bad (about the re-issurs only). I bought her because she also has G3F support.
Well, as every old-timer knows, the big sales are ultimately aimed at new blood.... but they usually manage to produce a few things even the most jaded get excited by. Because they save them up, I suppose.

The only thing I like in the whole sale today is the Curly Top Hair... Can you say "meh"?

Now that I know what's so special about the maintenance room, it's a nice item to get with that extra discount.
