We are not supposed to have earthquakes in Wales.

Wasn't sure what it was, cats were terrified,  I was sure the house had shaken, so wasn't too happy myself. checked all round in and out, couldn't see anything. Saturday afternoon, so neightbours mostly out and about and  I just never thought to chack the news until a wee while ago.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43097113

Scary when buildings start to vibrate for no good reason :0

I tried the newest Firefox and it's... ok.  Chrome still has better accessibility options, while FF will follow most of Windows high-contrast settings it doesn't properly over-ride font colors so, while Windows gives me an easily readable white-on-black, for no know reason FF gives me an unreadable purple-on-black.  Worthless P.O.S., glad it works for somebody.

Now I understand why people with vision issues bitch endlessly about software, despite the tons of support in Windows for sight assistance almost nobody uses it properly.  GO GOOGLE! AND MICROSOFT!

If I ever code again it's going to be working on adding accessibility features to software.. U should be able to use OS-supplied accessibility features in any app.  Some apps still won't render large fonts without producing a trashed output, honestly, lots of older folks use larger screen fonts and Americans are getting older.

Rant over. :-/ Gradma, get me another beer or bring me my scooter!!! :-p

TheMSspeech API is very good as well, used it a lot over the years :)

I'm sure I saw a horror movie where a Ferris wheel came off and rolled away, throwing bodies as it went.  Funny in a sick way...

...I think that happened in 1941.

    Good/funny/underrated film 1941 :)

When I was working for Danger Inc. and Palm, human factors were always high priority.  Many men are colorblind in the red/black spectrum so you have to be careful about colors.  Also some icons are conssidered evil in certain ciltures, a disembodied hand is bad in some Middle Eastern countries.  So no wonder some software is a major flop in some countries, America is far from the whole world, and less every day. It's sad but it is what it is.

Screw it, I think I'll have another beer and rain nuclear death down on my foes! NUKE 'EM TILL THEY GLOW AND SHOOT 'EM IN THE DARK!!!!!

Those are not kittens.  If I knew any better I would say they look like baby opposums, but I do not know any better.

I found a shirt I want on Amazon but it cost about 23 dollars.  Is that normal for a TShirt these days?

I only paid $25 for my fancy Hawaiian print shirt.  That seems awful high for s t-shirt unless it's a super fancy one. :-/

Looking through ads around here, that seems about right.  I think it's outrageous!  But then, when I was a kid, we called jeans dungarees...and they were for kicking around in the dirt, rought play.  They weren't a fashion statement.  And they weren't expensive...and they lasted longer!

Wheeeeee! Down to my last six beers, just ordered two large 2-topping pizzas and an order of cajun spiced fries, under $25 which leaves me enough grocery money for a week or so.  Well, once the weather cleas up...

Supposed to rain all of next week right into the weekend, at least they say that for now.  It changes every day so there's no point in trying to believe an forecast more than one day ahead. :-|

Soon as it clears it's another long, painful walk to the store and a bus ride home.  Need refried beans, corn and flour tortillas, wings, wing sauce, hot dogs, and maybe some salsa and more soup.  Ig I have money I'll get instant coffee and powdered creamer as well.

62f outside, overcast and damp.  This morning they said rain starting tomorrow, now rain won't start until Tuesday.  No wonder nobody trusts the predictions.. :-|

Will break out the beer when pizza arrives.  Woo-hoo! :-)

Morning. Stuck in the middle of crosstown gridlock complaint, nothing moving in any direction especially West, where I was sposed to be a half hour ago and in the centre of the worst cellphone reception in town *sigh*

Wheeeeeeeeeee.  Three large slices of pizza.  One order of Cajun spice rub fries.  Three beers.

And now it's nap time.  Had 3 hours of sleep last night, woke up early to clean my room so I wouldn't horrify the nice lady boying the mic.  Sweet woman mic definitely went to a better place!

So tired.. entering a serious digestive torpor (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11247747) will wake up happy and hissy later. :-P

When I was growing up we lived in a house in which a previous owner had been Earl Grey.  Not the Earl Grey, just an Earl Grey.  My mother drank Earl Grey Tea and she claimed that it was because of the ghost of Earl Grey in our house.  frown  I drink Earl Grey tea myself when I feel like splurging and buying a box (consider it a micro-adventure, ghosts not withstanding).  But for the most part, I stick to cheap store brand tea and squeeze as many cups as I can from each bag.

...40° here with water from the sky, both the of the liquid and frozen variety depending on elevation.  Down to 26° tonight 22° tomorrow night (but fortunately no precipitation...yet in the forecast).  Next weekend looks rough, could be frozen water of the very slick instead of fluffy white variety from the sky.

Went out for a bit last night, woke up with a scratchy slightly sore throat this morning. Time for a steaming bowl of chicken soup and a grilled cheezy. then Theraflu tonight before bed.

...when I got most of mine they were only 4$ - 6$ at thrift stores (for authentic ones from the islands, not OP knock offs or made in Bangladesh). Then they became overly popular and prices even for second hand ones became ridiculous.
