You're welcome!  It's not really bad.  I think people make too much fuss about everything.  Creates mass hysteria.  I do advise getting the Pro version, though...there are benefits.

When I had Win10 I just set it up to boot to the desktop.  The Metro interface is for pouty children, not engineers!!

I've done the same.  It's not that difficult.  People just like to whine.

...well market trip complete but not without one snag.

On the way home after getting off the bus and heading over to the tram platform, there was a message on the reader board that said all trams were out of commission indefinitely because of a switch issue (turned out it was right by my apartment building).  As I learned from someone who decided to walk from downtown instead of wait, this had been going on for almost two hours (probably happened just after I left my place on the way to the market). Normally when something like this occurs, the transit system would dispatch a few buses as emergency shuttles, but not today.  So had to walk 8 long blocks (analogous to more like 10 or 11) carrying two bags of groceries home (which is why I usually take the bus and tram in the first place).  By the time I got to the door of he building, my right hand was in serious pain.

Even as cheap and penny pinching as the airlines are today, they still give you a 50$ or 100$ off voucher for your next trip when they screw up.  I should get a refund of my fare.

Blrvh.  I hope your hand feels better soonest!

...bought a bottle of Sake to have with forthcoming stir fry dinners I have plans for.  Cracked it open tonight to have a warm tokkuri with the last of my curry.  Feel nice and numb now.  Sipping a good Kentucky bourbon to further the numbness before turning in also will use a bit of my CBD rub which helps.

Cold and will just get colder as I received a weather alert about 20s and possibly even 10s Sunday and Monday night with a good possibility that evil frozen water from the sky.

Amen, brother!  One of the grestest inventions of all time.  Heck, even the ancient Egyptians had beer!

Beer barter arrives today!  Guaranteed fun weekend now, beer and hot dogs!!! I already have brown mustard and bbq sauce. :-)

Still oww oww oww today, muscle aches, stillness and soreness, have to move slow as painful twinges are everywhere.  Beer will take care of that!!!

Will post more gear today for sale.  Last night was considering spending my leftover cash on tater chips but it hurts too much to walk up to the corner store.  I can, however, make my own tortilla chips out of corn tortillas in the air fryer!!! And I have 1/3 of a jar of salsa left! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

Mid to upper 60f's from now until mid next week, when they predict thunderstorms.  I give it about a 10% chance. :-|

  • Missed my Tuesday errands day.  Too much snow, then too much ice on the driveway as it got packed down.  Now it's Thursday and after 48 hours of above 40F (and into the 50s yesterda) most of the snow is gone but the ice on driveway still a problem.  Although there are enough weak spots and bare spots that I think I can get to my car and then get it down the driveway to do my uptown chores, then back up the driveway and park before the temperatures go back below freezing in the afternoon.

How do I use One Note?????

We used it at Brain Sentinel.  Well, I should say, TRIED to use it.  Microsoft was no help and our IT guy burned hours trying to set it up so we had collaborative spaces.  I ended up just keeping a shared Word Online doc for all my stuff.

We called it 'One Not', that pretty much says it all.

Best of luck - you're gonna need it.  Buy plenty of migraine-strength aspirin... :-|

Room neatened up and ready for company, more or less.  Got someone interested in my USB mic, not a lot of money but should be enough for a large 2-topping pizza and some left for a grocery store run when I'm not in pain.

Aspirin not helping a lot. :-(

  • NVIATWASNVIATWAS Posts: 1,242

Complaint: I can get two two-topping pizzas from pizza hut for $16 plus delivery, but 18 chicken wings are $22!!!  I can get premium raw wings for $3.49 a pound, wing sauce for $2 a bottle, and oil spray for air frying for $2.50!!! Is feeding precooked wings into a deep fryer really that laor intensive?!?!?!

I might be able to make pizza for less, but they'd be small due to the small interior size of the air fryer.  Likely make pizzas on flour tortillas.  Cook one when hungry.

Three months ago the same wings were $17.99, just about a buck a wing.. still bad.  Air fryer time!!! :-O

If the lady that wants my USB mic comes through on Sunday, I' going to go ahead and get the two 2-topping larges and refrigerate them.  At 1-2 slices per meal, it'll be a treat that lasts a long time.

I will also groceryshop for wing makings when my body recovers and the weather is good. :-)

A soggy box is not a good thing.

It's possible Chrome might import HTML settings, can't hurt to export and try to load it.  Well, it can't hurt much. :-/

Complaint: after a few beers it took me 5 minutes to locate this thread.

Non-complaint: nothing hurts any more! :-P

If accessible, Dominio's Pizza still has their Large 3-topping Pizza for $7.99 Monday thru Thursday.  Can't beat it with a stick. yes Well, you could but it makes it messy. surprise

Two-toppings just doesn't cut it for me.  IMHO a pizza must have carbs, veggies, protein and salt.  Mushroom, Sausage, & Black Olive  plus the base dough, & sauce plus whatever little cheese gets passed over it.

Obviously I made it back from my uptown chores.  Although I thought I was going to slide my leg under the car and break it (the leg, not the car) a couple of times while trying to get my laundry from my porch into the car, and my groceries & laundry from the car back onto the porch.  Thank god for my cane and finding tiny little patches of dirt & stones free of ice on which to place the tip to give me an extra point of support.

Had a mini-adventure and ate lunch at Sakura Buffet in the local mall.  Mmmm, yum, and I got to practice my chopstick skills. yes  Temps in the 40sF when I started but by time my laundry was done it was snowing. no  My right front tire is low on air again. frown  It's time for an oil change again. frown  But I did finally stop at the framing store and picked up a painting that I put in for framing before Christmas.  I had hesitated to pick it up because I was afraid of what it might cost.  Pleasantly surprised that he only charged me $16.20.  (No new frame, he just repositioned and stabilized a loose canvas fragment onto a solid backing in the original frame.  Nothing special, just a cartoonish portrait of me and my other half and our cat in a balloon basket.  Sentimental value only. heart crying  On the way back, the radio was playing the Saint-Saens Symphony #3 ("Organ Symphony") so I stayed on the road for an extra 20 minutes to make sure I got to hear the end.

Saint-saens 3rd Symphony ("Organ Symphony") https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tLio187nf8  The organ appears in several places in the 1st movement , but is front and center in the Finale.  Listening to the entire piece gives the best view of the music, but for people only interested in hearing for themselves why it is called the great "Organ Symphony" you can skip ahead to a minute or so before the point in the Finale where the organ bursts forth and becomes the leader of the pack instead of just a follower.  Skip to 26:20 and listen to the music die into silence preceeding the grand entrance of the organ at 28:15  Turn up the volume and crank up the bass to enjoy it best. devil

And if you've been to the French pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World Orlando you might recognize parts of this finale from the 180 degree movie at that pavilion.
