Anybody want a kitten?
Complaint
We are not supposed to have earthquakes in Wales.
Wasn't sure what it was, cats were terrified, I was sure the house had shaken, so wasn't too happy myself. checked all round in and out, couldn't see anything. Saturday afternoon, so neightbours mostly out and about and I just never thought to chack the news until a wee while ago. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43097113

rule of thirds
They should stay away from the American deep south or they might end up in one.
..that's my namesake's line.
For Leela it's Explosives are a girl's best friend.
...the repair is actually a simple and relatively inexpensive fix (a new backlight element) but other jobs are in the queue ahead of that. None of the displays I currently have use the older cables with a VGA connector or I would have hooked up to one of them (think I donated all the ones I had along with a nearly 40# NEC multisync CRT monitor a couple years ago to the local geek co-op when I thinned out a lot of stuff).
It's a typo, I meant pitch-up. It's a new way to get food from a drive-through without stopping, you open your window, throw the money to the cashier, and they literally pitch you your food. Doesn't seem to have really caught on yet... :-P
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!
That's super rare and likely eighter never going to happen again, or you'd better build an Ark... :-O
I'm sure I saw a horror movie where a Ferris wheel came off and rolled away, throwing bodies as it went. Funny in a sick way...
That sounds very Dr. Seuss...
POSSUM PIE!!!!!!!!!
Explosives are always good for a bang!!! :-P
...I think that happened in 1941.
...now that's good eatin'
Didn't notice it here!
:-| :-O
Possum pie and Budweiser, American classic cuisine... :-|
New air fryer discovery! If I fire it up to 300f and stick a corn ortilla in for 3 minutes, the edges get crispy, the center gets chewy, and the whole thing takes on a deep roasted corn flavor! Doesn't even need salsa, it's amazingly tasty.
Wii be buying lots of corn tortillas next grocery run. Oh, if I fold the tortilla in half first, out pops a very nice semi-hard taco shell! Perfect to hold hot dogs and refried beans!
Beer time, wheeeeeeeeeee
impossumbly deelicious?
The pie isn't actually dead...
... it's just playing possum!!!!
This bad joke brought to you courtesy of Dos Equis beer. :-p
...well did a major cleanout of the work system, including the CPU cooler, in preparation for the update (why I was offline for for a couple hours). About to install the 4 GB GPU card I have but need to remove the old drivers first before installing. Not a 1050, a 760 Ti (new in the box) but 3 more GB of VRAM and more than twice the cores of my old one. so I'll be able to run test renders of characters and scene subsets/vignettes in much less time and actually be able to use dForce. Thinking about keeping the 460 in just to add its cores to the 760 Ti for a little more speed (will give me more than a 1060 6GB). 750W PSU should handle both. Need to do some research before choosing which way to go.
The big part to come is the memory upgrade. Still only have W7 home so it will only see 16 GB of the 24. I have a fresh OEM of W7 Pro which will go on a brand new drive (1TB). Will also be doing a clean install of all the programmes (content library and runtimes are on a separate drive so I woun't have to DL and reinstall all of that all over.) Dumping my gallery CG Utility, and general utility installer folders to a 32 GB USB stick (including the installer for FF 56.0 the as new supposedly much faster version crocks all my plugins and add ons, many which I depend on for better Net performance, convenience, and dealing with less rubbish like telemetry, adverts, & pop ups).
I tried the newest Firefox and it's... ok. Chrome still has better accessibility options, while FF will follow most of Windows high-contrast settings it doesn't properly over-ride font colors so, while Windows gives me an easily readable white-on-black, for no know reason FF gives me an unreadable purple-on-black. Worthless P.O.S., glad it works for somebody.
Now I understand why people with vision issues bitch endlessly about software, despite the tons of support in Windows for sight assistance almost nobody uses it properly. GO GOOGLE! AND MICROSOFT!
If I ever code again it's going to be working on adding accessibility features to software.. U should be able to use OS-supplied accessibility features in any app. Some apps still won't render large fonts without producing a trashed output, honestly, lots of older folks use larger screen fonts and Americans are getting older.
Rant over. :-/ Gradma, get me another beer or bring me my scooter!!! :-p
It is raining again. I hope the rain doesn't freeze tonight.
Morning. Dog day morning here after 24 hours of partying for new year of the dog and an overnight festival of sorts in the ‘hood :)
