Couldn't wait for the renders to finish so a little splotchy.

    Imani

    and Alondra

Wow, your render of Imani in particular is beautiful! Is that her skin “out of the box” or did you customize the settings? The result you achieved is what I would love to achieve and why I purchased her.

Alliekatblue- Do you do promo renders? If not, you should. I'll definitely be looking to hire you when the time comes for my own skin texture releases which will be quite a bit different than anything we've seen so far. I'll keep you posted.

Looking forward to seeing your work, Rashad!

Really didn't need any of this stuff, but the deal was just too good to pass up (especially since the only things I owned out of the 6/7 bundles were Monique 6 and the Aether outfit). Lots of cool hairs, and am I the only one that has been gobbling up all of the cars over the last month?

Holy crap that looks amazing! Is it done in post?

EDIT: I bought all the cars too. blush

Algovincian has created an awesome algorithm/script that creates really beautiful non-photoreal renders. It's... it's amazing: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/54697/non-photorealistic-renders-npr/p1

Do you have an idea of where the script is buried in 79 pages?  I went blind looking but couldn't seem to find it.  Thanks.

Oh, it's not available - as it's apparently a pretty huge script and algorithm that is tied into his computer(s) pretty deep. He attempted to shared it before but it didn't work out, sadly.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I should have been more clear that it was just a personal algorithm and script that he uses. :)

  • Yep. I did that search too.

Not feeling the subscription plan of Photodonut.

Think I'll stick to Topaz for now until I grab the live painter.

I even like Monique's spin offs. Different enough to amke you collect.

The V8s all looked a lot like the base so it didn't pull me as hard as this.

Laverne, getting her glam on. No postwork as lots of people will be reading the thread to make buying decisions about the character or the bundle containing her at the present time, but otherwise I might just have made a small liquify adjustment in Photoshop to the fleshy part of her hand beneath her thumb. I'm really liking Laverne and Monique, and love this hair. I can see it getting a lot of use.

I'm also really liking the offer that allowed me to get the Pro bundle and the previous Moniques that I've admired at the time but could never quite justify plundering my scant finances for. A PC+ sale offer has also seen me score the 'much-wanted but could never claim that I needed' Mei Lin 7 for nothing, so thanks, Daz, for all of that.

    Nice renders!

I really love the Monique8 skin, I find it very realistic. Here's my first try (with a little face morph).

Just a stunning render! In fact it is so good, I'm noticing some flaws (that are no fault of your own!) in the skin on the arms. It almost looks like the texture artist stuck some skin sections with larger pores and skin cells on the arms, inconsistent with the rest of the arm and hand. The pores look way too big.

Again, this is no fault of your own. The render is just so good that texture flaws are noticeable. I have Monique but haven't rendered her yet or checked out the skin files. I'm a Photoshop geek so if I see those flaws in the texture, I will probably fix it before rendering. But wow, great render!

Monique 8 is gorgeous; the best G8 base character I saw until now! Her skin is to die for, face and body proportions are fantastic; she has much nicer hands, feet and nails than G8F and V8, and her eyebrows are beautiful. Though her lips are a wee bit too pouty (I mean the expression, not the shape) for my taste, I am happy that she doesn't have the wide joker lips of her G8 sisters. Even her small, high ears are lovely. Bravo, Daz! The eyes are ... well, I don't know why all black Daz base characters have these strange, slightly icteric sclera.

A special thank you for the generous Pro Bundle offer. I like most of the M8 Pro Bundle products; the M 6 and M 7 bundles are also highly welcome. I don't know why I only bought the M6 and M7 figures when they were released; I think it was in my PBN (Pro Bundle Denial) phase.  ;-)

@ Alliekatblue, marander3d and Astracadia: Bravo for those excellent renders!

@ Rashad Carter: Please keep us informed about your skin project! I hope it is for 3DL too...

I don't know what you're seeing there on the hands, the kind of look just like mine when I don't have enough lotion on.  I almost want to take a picture and post it. In fact here are my hands, no lotion. Hand and wrist kind of upside down, hard to take a picture with one hand, not being into selfies and such

  • I have been having problems with Daz crashing since the 4.10 update so it's taking me a while to get anything out. Here's my Monique 8, no post work.

Very nice renders everyone. Thanks for posting. Has anyone tried Monique 8 skin on a different morph? The previous Moniques and Dariuses each had skin so distinct that regardless of the underlying morph, the character always looked like Monique or Darius. It may be that we're not yet familiar enough with Monique 8's skin to instantly recognize it, but I was wondering what you all think. I haven't downloaded her yet because I have a long-term CPU render running, and I don't want to deal with the logjam.

I do agree Monique is the best character for gen 8 we’ve seen so far. Some of the renders in this thread are stunning.

Oh wow thank you Sapat, you are way to kind. I noticed the image is quite dark on my cell (My display is dimmed to save on the battery). It was much brighter on the pc though.

A 2nd try, a render of Alondra, wearing (parts of) the Goddess Minerva outfit and Mirnada hair.

As I've still got a lot to learn regarding dForce, I used the geometry editor to separate the minerva dress into a top and skirt; used the skirt only in the dForce simulation (easier for me to handle that way....)

@xyer0 M8 does have a "look". Here she is with a morph I put together with a V4 face and some growing up morphs added.  This is the base M8 skin with some make-up using Extreme Closeup: Makeup for Genesis 3 Female and eyes using Project EYEray.
