I already gave up checking the sales immediately after they're put up. Try again after a few hours when the glitches have been corrected..
Really? I remember devouring Dragonlance as a kid and neither me nor my fellow nerds even batted an eye at the obviously female names of Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Then again, at the time we mostly read things based on a cool backcover description (disclaimer: not dismissing bigotry as a whole, just surprised that it applies to authors when I'd never heard anything of the sort).
Well, it’s not widely discussed, really. If you’re not in or into publishing there’s no reason you would know. And Tracy Hickman is a man’s name :)
MFG is only Daz Originals this Final Weekend, looks like. I’m trying to figure out if Pose Blender is going to end it’s New Release price freeze tomorrow or Monday...
You're right. And all the past month mfg PA items will probably be back on sale at 60%+ tomorrow. Today, Daz is trying to sell their old DO items to the less exprerienced among us who don't realize they'll probably get a better deal next week during the PC sale. Especially if they're PC members. I know you can get a refund, but every time I've tried to get a refund during a PC sale, for some reason, I got kicked out of my PC membership for several days and it'a a major irritant. Personnally, I'm still waiting for the half-price membership deal i had last year to get back in. And if they don't put it out this year, fine. My credit card won't complain.
By the way, has anyone seen Jack in a party hat this year ?

Aaaah! *slobber*, *drool* (sorry ladies). That means the PC sale is definitely next week. I know Daz cannot outdo last year's PC sale when they bought off RDNA and practically gave their stuff away. The only way they could do that is by buying off Renderosity too. Hey, I can dream, can I? But you can usually get some pretty amazing deals during the PC sale. It's my personnal favorite. And yes, Magenta is having some major foul-ups today. Another sure sign that the PC sale is, well, imminent. (Please don't say the dreaded s- word!)

Well, for instance, Aave Nainen had his items on sale at 60% in the mfg at least once during the past month. I only take him as example because he's the first one I recognize in the alphabetical list, but there are many others that are only at 40% today.

Yes, I know that, and like I said before, I'm expecting the PA mfg items we had during the month, back on sale tomorrow. I was just answering a specific query from Mr. (I guess, could be Cristine) Palomino.

In the Spanish editorial sector, a lot of our bestsellers are women and I am not aware of any of them taking a male nom de plume, but, well, lack of evidence isn't proof of absence and all that.
Now, onto more pressing matters: I need to find Jack's new hat.
There were a lot of different PAs featured in MFG over the past six weeks. a few that come to mind are dglidden, aliwonder, Brahann, Debra Ross, GoFigure, Hole, Lantios... But most days there were at least 10 stores featured. Aave Nainen and Sloshwerks are the only two fairly productive PAs I can recall that were featured in MFG. (A couple were listed in MFG, mistakenly, though. lol.) The rest were stores that haven't seen a new release in a couple of years or longer, as far as I could tell.
I don't know where you can find it, but you can at least see it in the 'Can't log in' thread.
I preferred his princess hat, but this one is very stylish. I approve.
Can someone tell me what should I expect in PC Sales? I mean will there be more DO items available in the PC+? Or will PC+ items get discounted even more? I'm mainly interested in Genesis 3 items and not older, will there be a lot of candies for me ? :D Thanks a lot.
Lots of PC+ items even further discounted. Last year we had many DO items discounted as well. Best sale of the year! :)

Last year's PC+ sale as the best sale I've ever seen here. The Build Your Own Bundles where awesome - 8 items for $3.00. Most of the BYOB was older items, but just slap an Iray shader on those older items and many of them are awesome! I never get the people who snub the older items. Many of them were made even more detailed and better than some of the newer items being made. You just need to add a newer shader to them. :)
I really fleshed out my runtime last year and got some amazing deals! I really hope that the PC+ sale is also good this year!
Its not neccassarily snubbing them but those of us who have been around a while have them all and it then feels like we aren't really getting any benefitfrom our membership, its one of the reason that I don't miss it much.

Sickleyield was also in MFG for a couple of days, and she is a PA with a fair number of new releases in recent times. Ironman13 was another one.
It depends on your needs, I guess. Last year it definitely was better for me, personally. This year... I have almost half of the PC+ items, so it will probably be a little slower, but I still expect it to be really good.
There aren't, that I can see, any spotlight items today - earlier there have been a few items, still "new" but no longer on intro discount, offered at the same 1 for 40%, 2 for 50% discount as the Debut/Still New items - the qualification on the Featured Artist list is probably a leftover, saying that those spotlight items don't count towards earning the deeper discount for the PA items.
Cris is female. I've seen her say so around here a couple of times. I always thought Aave Nainen was female too - I think there's a video somewhere demonstrating the draping capabilities of one of 'her' earlier dresses, and it's not a man's voice narrating. I may have imagined this though :)
No offense to the PAs, but I'm all "PA Festival"ed out. Bring on PC+ sales!
Yeah that "common belief" irritates me to no end. I've spent a lifetime in male-dominated fields with no huge issues (military, broadcasting, web development, I.T, etc.) I write romantic comedy across genres and have plenty of male readers who enjoy the books. I'm glad that at least some people are able to look at someone's work on its merits, rather than what set of genitals the person has.
As far as PAs, I love getting to know them through their products, and then learn more about them. It would be nice to see some interviews and features on PAs here on DAZ, like they do on Rendo. It floored me to recently read that OOT is a guy in his mid twenties! He's been doing this for quite a while. Guess he started as a teenager. What talent!
Last year's PC+ sale was good but IIRC the holiday period after the PC+ sale was the best sale time for me in 2016.
Yes, but much of that was down to glitches as much as deals, and DAZ seems to have a better handle on glitches lately. But we'll see.
This is what I wanted to add, yeah. The holiday sales were extremely good because of the glitches. Otherwise, they would have been just another average sale.
