Would be nice if somebody could answer me if todays PA sale is really a weekend sale ( meaning it lasts till monday) of if its a today only sale?!

    Thx :-D

Daz is seldom explicit about how long a sale is active. However, in my experience, when they say it's a "weekend" catchup sale, it lasts the entire weekend. I've seen a weekend sale start on Thursday, (once,) or Friday, (many times,) but I've never seen a weekend sale end on a Saturday. They usually end Daz Midnight on Sunday, except when they are extended another day. As the PC Anniversary sale will start immediately after the PA Festival ends, I'm confident this weekend sale will end Sunday.

However, Daz has been known to change the details of a weekend sale. With all the complaining earlier, we might just see the older stores back in the Mega Fast Grab, (the same stores that were featured in MFG throughout the sale, but not including Aave Nainen, Sloshwerks, ironman13, Sickleyield or any other prolific PA.) If you see something you really want, don't wait until tomorrow for a better deal. If a better deal does materialize tomorrow, contact Customer Service for a refund of the difference.

It seems quiet difficult to hunt here for the "best deal" ...

However ... Thank you for the reply :-D

We call it Shopping Cart Jenga... laugh

It may help to get the Daz Deals plugin for your browser. Details are here.

    +1

It also helps to have a tendency to put a lot of stuff in your Wish List. Then when sales like this hit just sort by "only show wishlist" to find any items you're interested in. I have a very liberal criteria for what gets added to my wish list. Basically it's "if this was 80% or more off, would I buy it?". If the answer is "probably" then in the wishlist it goes. lol That's been a huge help when big sales hit, so you don't have to wade through pages and pages of stuff you're not really interested in.

I do the same thing - but there are two problems I've found recently.

Many of the things in my wishlist are at a discount of 80% normally, to $1.99, and most of those have not been in the sales this time around.

And the sales haven't been really that aggressive. I haven't even checked in here since this new thread was at 2 pages or so.

Every day I do a quick buzz of the site, put some stuff in my cart and go, "Yeah, I'm not willing to purchase *another $40 cart that only has 4 or 5 items in it..." then when I visit the next day, the sale is off and it is back up to $140, and I dump that cart and build a new one.

But there hasn't been a lot of checking out.

  • As great as the deals have been lately, I'm itching for the PC+ sale, lmao. My wishlist is filled to the brim with PC+ stuff, and if I can get a huge swathe of it all at once, I'll be a happy camper.

And on a positive note: I just got an offer for a full-time position, yay! That means a little more extra money each month for Daz shenanigans, lmao. Now I'll be able to better partake in some of these sales and support the PAs I thoroughly enjoy a little more than I used to.

... After the bills are paid, of course.

Ah yes. I long for a good PC+ sale with items as cheap at 30 cents. I live for those LOL. I added up what I spent after last year's PC+ sale and I think it was close to $1200. The deals were insane and apparently, so was I.

I'm still finding stuff I bought last year and forgot about. Can't spend nearly that much this year (it happened to be a three paycheck month last time, that helped!) But I don't really need to. My library is pretty well stocked. Can't wait to see what they do this year!

YAY Pose Blender is NOW DISCOUNTED!

I've been on the fence with Pose Blender as I have Zev0's Pose Builders, (all three of them, covering 4 generations!) and while Pose Blender goes further in it's ability to blend two poses into a unique new pose, (and works on any generation, as well as animals,) a part of me is questioning if I can justify the cost...

However, I have the Dragon Master Bundle wishlisted, so if I put both in the cart, I can get both of them at half off: $27.45. By adding something from the Still New list, that goes to 60% off. I added the Whitney Hair, a DO on my wishlist, and the total jumped all the way up to $30. So for $2.55 more, I can get a hair for both G3 and G8 ladies. (Not to mention the whole cart will really only cost me $24 because I'll be paying for it with Store Credit I bought at 20% off...)

Decisions, decisions. Should I pull the trigger? Or clear the cart and go back to rendering?

Haha thx got the plugin already ;-) Otherweise DAZ math would drive me insane. Ok i get it, (now) why +10% is sometimes ~ the 10% i would have thought... and i see why they do it like that... however... the plugin makes my DAZ shopping experience much more enjoyable :-)

Thrilled to see how next sale will look (noob :-)). On the other side ... i have spend so much the last days ... makes me a little bit frightend to think of the next sale. Lucky me there are only 142 items left in my wishlist hahaha :-D This list has to be made be evil powers. It allways reminds me that there is more i have to spend my money on :-|

You can blend poses with Puppeteer and I do it regularly. I haven't seen the appeal of Pose Blender because of this.

    Awh, thank you! <3

I mostly use Daz for art references/scene building and character reference, so it'll be nice to build up my environment library over time. Mmmm... Stonemason's Urban Future sets are finally within my reach....

I didn't get Pose Blender at first, kind of yawned, I have a lot of posing tools. But I liked the UI for Bone Doctor so much that Pose Blender immediately went on my wishlist. It's just so fluid and natural, and everything you do is previewed.

ETA: but if you're skilled at using Puppeteer I'm not sure it brings much to the table you couldn't jury rig in some way, even just timeline frames.

    @Wonderland

For products from Rendo, etc- Super easy to use- Content Package Assist   It does everything for you, so you don't have to manually install files- it creates the file and has two options- (and I do both) One is to create the file (so you put that in a folder to keep, like an external hard drive) and then there's the button to put it in DIM so you can bada-bing-bada-boom upload it.  Doctor Jellybean is in the featured stores too!

A lot of these types of products don't do anything you can't already do with the various tools in Daz Studio, they just make it easier. or faster. or more intuitive. or even better in some ways. Look at the Instancing tools, like Draagonstorm's Instancing Plus, or HowieFarkes' Ultrascatter. Sure, I could create a couple thousand instances and place them around the scene by hand... but I'm not going to.

Will Pose Blender make life a little easier and let me concentrate more on the end result and less on the tedious tweaks to get the pose I'm going for? More than likely. So the real question is:

Do I spend my money now? Or do I spend my time later, each and every time I want to pose a figure?

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,924

I noticed something I am NOT pleased about. Product Library doesnt show the correct sale date, and that misleads customers who are looking at dates for the 30 day price guarantee. I ordered an hour ago, it is definitely the 15th, NOT the 16th, and Daz time allows even MORE hours before their midnight comes. My order in Product Library says the 16th for each of those products on the blurb pages! (When you click the product and the individual page comes up, and shows the order number and date, and the product description page.) Is that the deal app or Daz?

(But when you go to Orders, it says the 15th. But I don't use that when checking for dates. )

Been waiting for ages for a decent PC+ Membership sale and the best they give me is 20% off? 30% with a new release (which basically eats the added percent off anyway). Ugh.... Daz, please give us a better discount. :(

If I'm understanding the way pose blender works correctly, puppeteer is both considerably faster and more responsive.

Based on the current sale prices and the 20% discount, I'm not at all enticed to join PC+. Hugely disappointed.

  • dreamfarmerdreamfarmer Posts: 2,128

It would be hard to be faster than Pose Blender. You literally load one pose onto the character, load the second pose onto the character, load the script and adjust a slider to taste.

Ditto. $56.00 to join ...means I'd have zero money to spend during the sale. We had much better Membership discounts last year. I'm hugely disappointed. I was really looking forward to the PC+ sale and now it looks like I won't be participating...

You're right, I was remembering the situation where you're blending a pose from one character to another with pose blender. If you just load two poses then run the script puppeteer is one click slower but with the advantages that it's free, the window can be an easily accessible workspace tab, you can blend as many poses as you want at the same time, AND you can "reverse" poses onto each other by dragging past the limits which cannot be done with pose blender AFAIK.

Yea bugs me, days before my PC membership ran out they offered non PC members 50% off, 20-30% now doesn't exactly encourage me to rejoin nothing in the sales is making me think about it either, its looks as if its little more than an extention of the PA sale.

And the kick in the teeth was, if I remember correctly, that sale only applied to people who didn't have a membership already. So it's like - hey all you people who don't have PC+, get it here for 50% off (and you people how have it but who's membership is about to expire - who cares, no discount for you). :(

Wait, what is the difference between "Featured Artist Catalogs" and "Friends of the PC+ Sale"? They seem like the same exact thing?

  • I'll add the same thing in here as I have in the MO forum.. please remember the sale is a month long thing!  There is literally something new every day.. :)

  • The sale on DAZ Originals is significantly worse than the one we just had this weekend. o.O I'm glad I didn't wait.
  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,924

Well, will be saving a lot of money if it continues this way. And as I thought, with it being older products,  I have everything in Mega Pack One.

Am I missing something? Why would we buy the Newly PC+ items when it requires us to buy a New Debut, when every week we get those without having to buy anything else?

So far as New Debut, that is 46% with the 37% plus additional 15%.  Yawn. (And that's buying TWO.)
The artist catalogs are 46% (having to buy a New Debut) then 10% off that for PC Members, I tested one and that goes to 51%

  • 3Diva3Diva Posts: 11,970

Oh and to be sure they twist the knife, here's the prices they've been showing me for nearly an hour:

I got excited! Thinking "Yay! This will only come up to about $10 in my cart! :D" ...Then I load my cart:

$10 vs $131 ...Yeah. Can't dump that cart fast enough. Thanks, Daz...

Well, the other reason is: I went and found the Puppeteer pane and remembered it is supposed to work in Preview mode and selected my character and... had no idea or instruction what to do next. Had a grid that said 'layer,' but no instructions. I've only ever used Puppeteer for Breast Control (which is of course a purchased product) so I've no experience using it in any way and Daz Keeps Its Secrets Well. However! As I said above, I'm sure Pose Blender is only aimed at the uneducated like myself, and thanks to the magic of forums, I like Riversoft Arts enough that I don't begrudge her the cost.

Thank you for the reassurance, Jack. I'm looking forward to the other parts of the sale and I only have two things in the Megapack, so woot!
