    Hi!

You can render Depth Maps layer -Canvases using iray and  use in Photoshop to create DOF based on the scene , you may look on this video to see what I am talking about would be easier than explain .

How to create depth of feild using depth maps in Photoshop

Regarding the other shader question , if the product don't mention Merchant Resource it is simply not  , I created only vol.3 and volume 4 as Merchant Resource , vol.1 and 2 are not .

Vol3 and vol.4 can be used in your product edited or as original but saved only as material presets for your model materials and not as shader presets .

I hope it answer your questions if anything else let me know

very well done , love it .. there is many options to do DOF also you can render DOF layer Depth maps and use with Photoshop to make exact the effect you need, with tight spaces the DOF will be not easy in DS if you want to use ground with it as the China hdri has very tight spaces , with gardens you can do

The female autfit was Manchurian chinese traditional aoutfit of the last dynasty not yet on sale , her hubby is long time in my store here but she need to catch up with him soon as I just recovered the lost files from long time ago.

    Thank you for the support

    Cath

I purchased the HDRI Antique China Mega-Pack and it is an absolute winner!  Thanks Mec4D for producing some outstanding images to work with. Love your shaders as well (Only have Volume 2 so far but I'm sure that will change over time)!
Here is a render I did with your new HDRI's. I Added the DOF in Photoshop (layered a non DOF background and background with DOF and masked it out) as I am not sure how or if it is possible to get correct DOF with HDRI environments from within Daz?
Keep up the great work :)
Oh... and if you are able to let me know which outfit was used on the female in the promo images for this product, that would be great. Thanks!

Thank you for your comments Mec4D.  I am not quite sure what you mean by Depth of field layer depth maps and using them with photoshop (I am a photographer so understand DOF... but not the layer depths maps you mentioned). Are they something you can download which applies to HDRI image renders, another term for manually blurring and masking layers in photoshop... or am I off track altogether here? Still very new to all this 3D world!

Also can't wait for the release of the female Manchurian outfit you spoke of in the renders... yes I think it is well and truly time she catches up with her hubby :)

Just one other question if you don't mind. I have your PBS shaders Volume 2 and am most likely just about to grab Volume 3. I have noticed that Vol 3 says merchant resource and Vol 2 does not say that. As I said I am still quite new to all of this... and one day hope to be able to create item worthy of making its way into the Daz store. Can you please clarify what I could and could not do with your Volume 2 and Volume 3 shaders. Coming from a creative digital background the last thing I would want to do is misuse anybody elses products!  Thanks

Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my "newbie" questions Cath. I will have to try the depth maps out... great way to control DOF :) Also thankyou for clarifying the merchant resource info... love your shaders and will make sure I save them as material presets when the day finally arrives when I make something worthy of the Daz store. It may take a while... but I love this stuff!

Another lovely set was released - https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-hdri-gardens-vol-2-megapack

Any tips for rendering multi character scenes, to have all of the characters lighted properly?
