    Congratulations.

Do these and your other HDRIs create hard shadows - looking at the images you posted (dragon looks awesome) the shadows look quite soft?

Congratulations to you both, Cath :)

Thank you Scorpio, cloudy days create soft shadows so called soft box as the light is coming only from the enviorment and not from direct light like sun or spot light and is diffused, sunny day create hard shadows exactly as it is in real world , that why for portriats the best is soft diffuse light and shadow and on a sunny day the model face should be in the shadow , you can still use both for that, all you need is use matte function on a plane and cover the sun light to get the soft box ambient effect  or set the model against the sun light and use white square to diffuse and reflect the sun light back , it will give nice soft shadows, when time allow I will doing some videos this week and show some workflow with the HDRI

Awwww, thank you so much, everyone! the love found me finally after long 10 years of not even searching or wanting but when the universe set a plan you can't get against it, but just accept and enjoy the beauty of it's meaning , with the most gentle and supporting soul on my side I will be only stronger, I must admit that my fiance helping me a lot with HDRI shots I made for you, driving me around and protect me and my equipment while shootings , finding special places and covering the trips and everything on top of his own job so a really great supporter and my right hand . We plan our wedding for the Spring 2018, it will be the second time for both of us but he wants to be my last ever ;) as Richard mentioned, the last Knight !  We are not perfect, but perfect for each other and I feel blessed.

Now time to get even harder at work and saving for our little wedding!

Below memory flyer of yesterday's unexpected ( so soon ) event smiley

Thank you , well I am going into it in about 2 months so something may come out while searching for my ideas, shaders would be good idea and a lot of fun , I may design first my dress in 3D , since we going to marry for the first time in the Catholic Church I am going for the more traditional style inspired by Grace Kelly wedding dress , that would be something I may be looking for.

Isn't that coincidental.  Seeing you taking part in this long thread made me want to suggest a set of fabric shaders.  Now, the news that you're engaged (congratulations by the way) makes my suggestion doubly(sp?) relevant.  We need (desparately!) bridal fabric shaders.  I'm thinking about the various organzas (plain and shimmer), the numerous types of satins, bridal illusion (for veils), and tulle.  Then there's those intricate embellishments that where so popular on the overly ornate gowns in the 80's and 90's.    Interested?

Preparing my weekly HDRI freebie , should be uploaded shortly to my website

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

P.S this files are Render Preset files so you can replace the HDRI from other scenes you already build before with one click , load your scene, add the render preset then add the camera if you want or not if you have your camera set already .
