    Something I'm working on.

I'm thinking of maybe doing a fairy product for G8F. Here's a dragonfly fairy. (I don't know if everyone's going to be keen on the alien/insectoid looking morph I made, but hey)

I like that alien/insectoid look! It looks like something RawArt would release except, maybe, not quite as scary... I'd buy it. And I don't buy much of anything for G8.

Over the years, my husband and I have played staff to 8 cats, and I have numerous photos of our fur-babies. Needless to say, the recent free LAMH presets from Saiyaness for the HW3D Housecat are a welcome addition to my runtime. Here is my first render with the short hair preset. There are a couple of things that give it away as a render, like the perfectly flat surface of the milk, but for the most part, it looks like a photograph. The hair really makes all the difference.

I'm not sure if it's the same one she used, but Googling it pulls up this: http://vampyric-saiyaness.deviantart.com/art/LAMH-Preset-for-the-Hivewire3D-House-Cat-Short-695225952

Yes, that's the one I used, @nohiznguyen and @divamakeup. She shared two, the short hair and a long hair version. Here's the link to the long hair preset, too: https://vampyric-saiyaness.deviantart.com/art/LAMH-Preset-for-the-Hivewire3D-House-Cat-Long-695227522

Looks great! Wasn't aware that LAMH would work with Iray...

You have to convert it to OBJ first, in the free player. Or if you have the paid version, you can convert it to Fiber (I think?) I have both, but I just converted it to OBJ with the player. It's been so long since I used LAMH that I had to install it to use it!

Fiber is a LOT lighter, in memory; if you can use it, do.

I love to see all of your beautiful renders. I've been following this thread from the beginning.

Talking about cats I'd like to share this Iray render :

I was in a bit of a hurry, trying to get something for Llola Lane’s RENDER A MONTH Challenge 2017 thread. And I haven't really worked with LAMH much. On the old computer, it kept crashing on me. Then with time spent figuring out how to activate it on the new computer, and then figuring out how to apply it... I took the way of least resistance! lol

Without a 6 hour deadline looming, I plan to explore much further. Who knows, I might even start making my own LAMH presets. Now that I have a computer that can handle the workload. (fingers crossed!)

Thanks to everyone, too, who followed the link to the gallery and "liked" my cat render. Most likes I've gotten in a long time. (Almost enough to get showcased on the scrolling banner!) I really appreciate you guys.

Speaking of Gallery likes, xmasrose, you shouldn't be so modest! Where's the link to you image so we can click on the little thumbnail?

Oh, wait... here it is: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/407316

And you've made the scrolling banner! Good job.

And I've only been on the scrollling banner, once, back in 2015. It is an amazing high! Relish it. And... it's well deserved. Such a cute kittie and a fun image.

Have the paid version, but not had the time to try it yet, so I'll probably have to experiment a lot.

Good to know, currently not too much memory to play with.

    Thanks!

So I've been trying to really capture Quetzalcoatl with my 'snakelike dragon' morph, but... it's been tricky.

Here's going the somewhat psychedelic route with my iridescent shader.

Ideally it should have _feathers_, but there's pretty much no way I know of to pull that off. Theoretically LAMH could do it, but I've never managed to use instanced geometry without my machine locking up completely. Other options include making some sort of conforming 'body sock' with feathers sticking out of it, but that's... rather beyond me or the tools I have access to right now.

I was also hoping to figure out how to get a tighter bump/displacement pattern that looked more feathery, but I haven't really managed it. I have a fishscale pattern that I thought might do it, but it pretty much looks like scales.

Trying for a more subtle effect, using standard texture maps with my iridescence.
