**Edited the first post to show Generation 6 release months**
First off; I'd be inclined to expect to see a return of Aiko and the Girl, since they are specific morphs with a strong "brand" identiy. And not that easy to obtain from straight dial-spinning. But I think those are the only ones (apart from Michael) who date from gen4 that I more or less *expect* to see.
Second; a return of some of the newer names which seem to have retained popularity through the past couple of generations. Monique and Mei Lin for the ethnic boost would *seem* to be highly likely, if not an absolute sure thing. Then some of the named character morphs whose popularity seems to have held strong since their first launch. Olympia very likely, also Lilith, *possibly* Gia or one of the newer strong warrior types.
Third; Thorne dolls. There will be new Thorne dolls. That's pretty much a given. No certainty as to their names, however. A Julie/Josie is likely, but they may *all* get new names for this round. Apart from Julie/Josie they always have done.
Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised to see all new names for this generation for the non-Thorne character bases. If only to reduce the growing confusion as to which iteration is which. And apart from Mike, Vicky, Aiko and the Girl, I would not be all *that* surprised to see *none* of the existing DAZ names reused for G8. The general body *types* yes, certainly. But the *names*, not so much.
I, personally, will probably pick up whatever is offered. At least the character base. What I am *waiting* for, however are the Aging and Growing Up morphs.
Greetings,
Calling it now: Teen Jenny and Tween June
Yeah, me too. I'm a sucker like that, but I don't mind being such.

I'm not looking for the major big name characters that have offshoots of their own. I would like some variety, though. An asian, an african, an elf, and anime, with enough variety to mix and match skins, bodies and heads. As usual, the early releases are mostly caucasian. I'm also concerned that with more optional stuff, there will be fewer full service characters. This one doesn't support the new eyebrow structure. That one hasn't got anatomical elements. It is getting harder to double check that a figure supports everything you need or want. I find myself visiting new characters and going to the list of stuff included, to see if the vendor is fully supporting their character. Many don't. Thus, for me, the half hearted partialy featured characters just aren't considered for purchase, and G3 retains more viability.
It's impossible to say without any visual previews. Many of the G3 editions looked very different to their former incarnations.
I am hoping we get some additional face morphing packages soon as the only reason I bought other character is their face had a look I liked. The simplified mesh makes blending body morphs much smoother than with Genesis 1 or 2 so I am only interested in highly stylized characters this time around.
I know what you mean... It sucks not being able to use Bethany 7 maps on Genesis 8.
I agree about making them unique. I want that more size and shape variation... We need more adult (non-toon) characters that are under 5' 8" and more than just Bethany to represent the non super model / bodybuilder people.
I just checked, and Victoria 8 uses the default female UV maps, so I think they've heard our complaint and dealt with it.
Yes. In a way, I'm hoping people don't try to replicate what used to work with older base models. Start from scrach and find out what G8 can do.
Aiko & Girl always look forward too. Really love Mei Lin & Rune from the new bunch. As far as new id love to see a better plus size character and a better petite character, someone short and scrappy :D
I want Teen Josie and I want her to be named Teen Josie!
(Also, Bethany, Gia, Olympia, Monique, Aiko, Fairy Thorneworks)
I'm putting in another voice for Aiko and Mei Lin.
I would like an Aibell 8 Pro Bundle, she is my favorite character and never got a bundle. I also like Aiko, Mei Lin, Rune, Opal, Mika and Bethany.
She's not a Daz Original, that's why she doesn't have a number or starter/pro bundles, that being said...
She would be prety easy to convert. Genesis 8 can use her material files, and her body shape does not say anything about custom sculpting. All you would need to do is write down all of the morphs that are set with her preset file, and spin those on Gen8 with the head and body morph packs.
Mei Lin 8 But I seriously doubt it will be that soon...
Aeon Soul's Alice. (The one he uses for his product images).
Galaxina 8, with the Blue Star
DooooWaaaaaaah!
Sorry, Galaxina was on Comet earlier, so now the DoooWaaaaaah! harmony that is invoked every time they said 'the Blue Star"
DooooWaaaaaaah!
except for that one time when the guy had to repeat himself once everyone was used to this happening,
is now stuck in my head. Such a silly movie that...
Dorothy Stratten was definitely a hottie, I'm sure one of the Daz gals isn't too far off from Dorothy's features, if I ever decided to pay a homage of some sort. Unfortunately, her story had a sad ending...
I like silly movies. Well, a good number of them anyways! Shop smart. Shop S-Mart!
I never get why people are always going on about needing characters of different heights, with the body morphs and scaling you can make any character any height and proportions, spin some dials folks.
I just want to chime in :0) As James stated, Aibell was not a Daz Original so there was no bundle. But, she is also very much a custom sculpted morph with the addition of some dial spinning, so I don't know how easily she would convert. But either way - Im feeling the love this morning as it was nice for one of my girls to be mentioned.
Ah, I assumed since there was no mention of custom sculpting in the description. I stand corrected.
That's a bit of a red flag for me when browsing characters, and see both head and body morph packs listed as prerequisites with no mention of custom sculpted morphs.
Ethnic like Mei Lin and Monique. Also maybe a female equivalent of George.
Well that is interesting ( I could have sworn it was mentioned on my pages but old age it settling in) - all of my g3 characters are custom sculpted :) And from here on in - it will be mentioned somewhere on the page.
George is not a Daz Original, but yes. I hope that Deepsea is working on a female equivilent with a more interesting body shape than the default "Heavy" and "Pear" morphs for G3F and G8F.
Add my voice to the Aiko and The Girl crowd.
Ashley Hair for Genesis 8 Females has Olympia 8 listed under supported shapes, so maybe she will be our girl for July?
Ysabeau 6 is not listed and it was my favorite gen 6 so I hope for Ysabeau 8.
This figure is not a main figure release. (Main figures have three purchase options : Base Figure, Starter Bundle, and Pro Bundle)
If you would like to see a new version of Ysabeau, you will need to contact @Sarsa and @Thorne about making an updated version.
Girl, Aiko or anything unique as I can do the normal ones usually myself with dials.
She WAS a DAZ Original; she just didn't have enough content made for her to justify more than one bundle option, like most of the figures do.
