Awesomely creepy.
...noi, no, no.
I finally got Skin builder Pro 3 for G3F, along with GenX 3.and earlier, the Growing Up Morphs for G3, as well as a number of morph resource kits. I now feel well equipped to create the characters I want and need off of G3 without making a massive investment in content. Not going to throw away the investment I have for the latest "shiny" and have to go through this all over once again, particularly as I am now on an extremely limited budget. This happened far too many times over recent years. Time to put the foot down and "say enough is enough".There is no way I can "keep up with the Jonses" anymore . I am done.
That reminds me I actually need to update that product for Genesis 8.
As I said in my post I had set the resolution to base and no it does not work I get a Geometry Mismatch error.. Looks like it is no longer possible to make morphs with Sculptris..
Oh yes!! That too! When you export, make sure the lashes aren't on (or are at least hidden in the scene tab). The cool thing is that the lashes (and tear) will now auto-follow the face morphs so you don't have to adjust them manually when you're sculpting a morph :D
If you want to adjust the lashes specifically, load those in alone, and export for sculpting.
Yeh, something tells me that the non-backwards compatibility was not by accident or limited by technical issues. Enough said.
Well, you said you had it set to subD 0, and I wasn't sure if you meant the drop down or you put in subD 0 on the slider. There's a drop down box that says High Res or Base Res and instead of setting subD to 0 in the other box, you need to set that drop-down to Base Res.
...I do not envy you in the least. considering all the work you put into SBP3. It was well worth the wait and price.
I don't have V8 yet (debating if I can afford her), but here's Genesis 8 basic female with some shader adjustments.
I really love the added pose control options. The realistic facial expressions, the added toe movements, the more realistic bends - really a great figure! I'm really pleased with even the basic female so far.
Edit - Check out that hand detail! The tendons and increased realism looks great, imo!
The HD expressions pack looks really nice.
So far, what I'm understanding from the responses here makes me less than inclined to bother with G8/V8.
1. Backward compatibility seems very limited. Clothing morphs don't work and shoes don't fit.
2. Exporting to create morphs appears to result in a broken figure.
3. 3rd Party G3F gens (3feetwolf's, specifically) don't work.
I'm guessing that things like Zev0's catalogue will be obsolte with G8. No glute/breast control, no Growing Up, no Aging, no vascularity, etc., etc.
Would be great - especially skinbuilder would be nice and helpful - as it seems i can use most of my old g3 textures - possibly you just have to change some lines inside the script? A release this afternoon would be very helpful :P ... hrhr
Yeah looks it works, never figured on the lashes screwing things up, if they are removed from the figure creating the morph is possible.. Eitherway still early days for the figure..
Sorry for the terse reply, just got a little cranky when the morph creation I knew how to do didn't work, who knew that having the lashes as a separate figure would complicate matters.. :(
The facial pose controls with V8 look Ah-may-zing! Argh, makes me want to get her. I'm so torn.
Not seeing that at all in Studio?
You'll probably have to morph withou eyelashes otherwise it will give you an vertex error. The lashes autofollow and are separate and therefore have to be morphed separately.
I'm with Kyoto Kid... just got everything finally for G3, but with some Zevo updates (sending good vibes your way) I think G8 has some crazy good features.
Also there is more iray stuff (nvidia hair hopefully), and DS updates for animation and more coming later in the year. All of my G3 (and older) hair(facial M too) and clothes do work with what might be a small tweak or so.
The eye lashes, brows, tendon and muscle detail and movement and PowerPose are more than a little deal. I am sure over the next few weeks all the kinks will be worked out and thing will move forward. Hopefully we get our G8M base sooner than later!
Take a look at all the hidden Adjustment and Clone morph dials! We are 3 hours in, I'm sure there will be a few hiccups, LOL!
Try an "adjust rigging to shape" for those alien fingers
Window > Panes (Tabs) > PowerPose
Skin builder will work for G8, you just have to build on G3 and save your presets and apply them to the G8 figure.
They do, but when I open power pose the interface doean't look like the video. What am I doing wrong?
I am in PowerPose and have nothing like what is shown in that image.. But then again this is just the G8 Essentials nothing else..
Looks like it only comes with V8 -do you have her installed?
Do you have the new 4.9.4 installed?
Ahh okay, not yet. I'm wavering on the pro bundle vesus the base character. Hate to have to buy the pro just for the complete anatomy.
@Twilight76 I do, but I don't have V8 yet
"Select your G8F then try edit -rigging- adjust rigging to shape, then try posing again."
Good tip I'm gunna give this a go when I'm playing with the clones next.
Ahh well getting anything of the new figure will be a long way off..
I simply adore this lass: https://www.daz3d.com/honey-for-genesis-8-female
Makes me think of Van Voght's sci fi classic Slan
Actually, it doesn't say anywhere that you need V8 for the enhanced pose control.
I have installed the G8 power pose templates, but the DIM installed files are showing the same size and files in starter essentials contents, so ' wondering if something hasn't gone wrong *head scratch*
Youre not going to be able to autofit high heels (at least, not any of mine, since you used Lady D's boots) I have a certain way I do em, which requires you to bake the joint rotations to the included foot pose (u could try that, if u know your way around DS -- its basically 45 / -45 on the feet and toes)
