Like the VINCent model that's currently only in Bryce......
Including the intro sale that made me interested in the first place abruptly vanishing. Argleblargle.
Any chance of details about "some" and "may"? If DAZ fixes the sale, that might push me to getting all four instead of just one or two.
It was the Assault Weapons 1 and 2 I was so excited to see at $5.00, simply for the Sterling, the Famas, and the M14... now if there had been a MAS-49..... well ..
It doesn't look like it is being fixed and it is past time for me to go to bed, so I'm just dumping everything.
BUT Thanks and Kudus to Scavanger for all his efforts.
If the Vanishing Point irte
They are uber cool sets. I really loved working with these in creating Vue promo renders. Setting them up and posing just as fun as rendering. To give you an idea of versitility and agility of the sets, most promos images are micro perspectives of huge macro scenes that were fully loaded with all teh figures and props when the render was shot. Below you can see the interior set from the crafts exterior in a dense asteroid field.
Looks like a desciption messed up. Here is what each has inside:

Ok, I put my order in, but it charged me 4 times as much as it quoted. I put in a ticket for a price correction. Luckily I took screen shots.
I'll certianly try. The description from the oriignal artist (from many years ago) says "I have decided to go ahead and update the original stuff in order to make it more useable to a greater variety of customers, including animators, as these weapons are now fully poseable, with moving parts etc. " Differing time zones and things make comunication a bit hit and miss sometimes, but I'll try to get more info (or a hold of the pack and take a look)
The cr2 items have morphs for Drop mag, firing, cocking, with some items such as the AKS-74U featuring Fold Butt & swivel actions.
Not that one as (I belive) that model was made with Bryce primitives, exporting that for use in other apps just isn't possible. The software just doesn't allow it. It's the same with Vue/VOB files as well, some of those can't be exported from Vue and theres no free convertor out there because it's a proprietary format.
In a way it's the same with native Poser/Studio files , you can't import CR2 or DUF files into something like max. But you can export/import OBJ files, into pretty much anything, which is why all the VP and PD stuff uses external OBJs. OK sure you might to tweak the odd material, but it'll work.
Will the VP items be going back on sale ???
As it is now the lower priced ones don't even have the 30% discount for new items and after everything was so abruptly and prematurely pulled from the $5 sale I'm not buying anything until there is a better discount than there is now.
I know next week there will be another load of the back catalog being loaded, and I assume the...difficulties...from this launch will be taken into cosideration so it will run smoother.
Well, I hope both the new items AND yesterday's items will both be at a discount that is significantly higher than the measly 30% introductory discount and that it will last for at least a day. Five dollar items with a 40% discount for 5 or more like what was adverised yesterday but pulled early would be nice. Otherwise I'm not interested in wasting my time shopping. There are other sites.
How do you figure? They've had problems with almost every sale for years.
Looking forward to the next sale, as the first one was pulled too fast to make a purchase. Sorry you all are having difficulties rolling these out. Best wishes going forward! The content looks very good.
Excellent, thanks — I've now wishlisted all four sets.
Well, again, stressing that I'm an outside observer for the most part on this, because I don't have stuff in the back catalog. But for the new stuff...such as the Meditation Chamber for Daz Studio, now available in the store, It's at the standard new product 30% off price ... I'm not sure why it should be lower than that at this time. (Unless you meant the "new" back catalog stuff, in which case, I have no insite into that.).
But, if we are speaking about actual new Vanishing Point stuff....again, there's the Meditation Chamber for Daz Studio, now available in the store,
(I may have learned marketing from Mick Folley).
Because that was what advertised yesterday and should have been honored for the day but wasn't. So, I beleive there should be a chance to purchase what I had in my cart at the sale price of $5 less 40% for 5 or more items = $3 per item.. If not, the items are available at other stores and I can shop elsewhere.
ETA: And just incidently not all the items even have the 30% introductory discount.
...agh, the 5$ sale is over? I thought it was to go all weekend. Was hoping to pick up the 707 and some of the other aricraft.
Even though it was prominently featured in the daily email It ended abrutly and without warning in the middle of the same day it started (i.e. yesterday). I was working on a cart and had 6 items in it and looking to add a couple more. The price jumped from $18 to $49 and I had to dump it. I have filed a complaint with DAZ but I doubt anythong will be done about it unless a lot of us complain. So, all I can suggest is to file a ticket and let them know you are unhappy.
all weekend is what I would have expected as well.. Thing is, had it been all weekend I'll wager there would have been more product sold than not..It ticked me off enough, that now I;m looking to other sources for the models I was looking at buying..
Me, too. And I certainly expected it to last at least a day Most of the VP items are available elsewhere and at this point I'd almost rather spend a couple of extra dollars to buy them there.
It would have been nice to at least have DAZ_Steve (or someone from marketing) apologize or at leastcomment on the early removal.
I'm still piretty ticked off about the sale being taken down early before I could get my order iin. So, I checked out the VP site and while some of the items are slightly higher over there, you can get some of the items at a lower price than here at DAZ, especially ones that allow you to enter your own price.
ETA: Case in point: the Boeing 727 (for poser) is $7.00 at DAZ even with the 30% introductory discount but can be purchased at the VP website for a minum of $4 using the the name your own price feature
FWIK, I concur with Scavanger. Hang on till next payday,
OK. I'll watch. BUT since DAZ didn't offer to honor the price in Saturday's sale that was pulled early, I'm not purchasing until the items I wanted become available at a price that is very close to what I would have paid with the sale Meanwhile, both DAZ and VP loose out and I get to keep my money.
Well, it's Friday Payday and no new VP stuff and absolutely no attempt to provide anything more than the measly 30% introductory discount on the items that we missed when the sale was pulled early. So I'm taking my paycheck and looking elsewhere. And anyway some of the VP items are cheaper on their site.
Not that it will matter much to DAZ. They probably have enough customers without my business.
Speaking of which, did anyone get a reply to their support ticket along the lines of "the sale was released prematurely, because of this we weren't able to keep it going" — that's what I got, and it doesn't sound quite right to me.
Same here and there was NO offer to sell me the products that had been my cart at the sale discount price.

The reply I got was "It looks like the page was pulled down due to pricing issues. Hopefully they will be placing a new offer live shortly."
OK that explains it ... it was a glitch sale. Well at least those who benifited got the a fantastic deal. Gotta be quick on the draw to catch a glitch in the cart.
