With situations like that you can sometimes get away with selecting the collar bone of the vest/shirt/whatever itself and bending it down a little..  also works for skirts without handles and minimal morphs by rotating their thighs a bit.

  • I hope this doesn't go against the TOU to post this, I tried to strategically place bones and other body parts on all the "offending" body parts so hopefully I got it all covered good enough that it doesn't get deleted...

Anyway.... This is who Dante reminds me of, anyone recognize who I'm trying to create? :D If it does get deleted the link is here http://fav.me/db50whc

nice I am a fan of Conan inspired there by the young version looks like barabarian era. I'm trying to use Dante with facegen and some facial morphs to recreate another character/actor too haven't quite got him to look groovy yet

Aaah. Thanks for that. I played a bit with the bones but didn't catch the right one. I'd been using d-formers lately so I knew that was going to be a quick fix.

Yeah I love d-formers, I make almost all of my adjustment morphs with them.. much faster and easier than trying to do it in a modeling program with all that back and forth.  A lot of people don't know how to use them though, so bone rotation (and don't be afraid of a little scaling!) works in a pinch.

I love them, too. Soft selection editing without ever having to leave DS. Not only is it a time saver as far as getting in/out of DS, but it also allows you to see the effect with sub-division and smoothing applied. And don't forget the ability to save dFormer presets - woot!

I wanted to do a straight up, mostly, render of Dante. Here he is in the Ugly David outfit. He has Buzzed Hair, and Oh My Body Hair (face and arms). Two problems arose: one - the vest didn't fit right. It was sort of floating above his shoulders, the built in morphs didnt help - I'd get poke-through before the shoulder or back morph bought it down enough. I ended up using a D-former. Not major, but annoying. Second: look at the shoulder, I see a mesh pattern there. I almost rememer what causes that.. subdivision?

Anyway, here he is. I'm happy I got the pro bundle - at least at that sale price cheeky

Fantastic render! Really shows some of his personality.

If you look at his eyes, this is definitely the match for Genevieve.

Lucian also is. However, Lucian has more of a distinctive natural sour expression, which probably make him the more direct sibling to Genevieve. I actually decided to get her yesterday, in the sale, to act as a sisterly character in a render with Lucian's character.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn the same artist was responsible for all three faces.

Ooh, cool pic, DeathByCanon. Yeah. the Conan thing works for him!

I just noticed that Conan and Canon have the same letters.

Dante 7 seems to have a nasty bug. If you click on the gear icon for the "navel" morph (as if you were going to alter the limits) it will crash DAZ Studio 4.8 immediately. Can someone using 4.9 confirm if this is the case as well in DS 4.9.

I got a DAZ instant crash by applying all the iris and cornea morphs to the same character at once. Didn't even bring up the bug reporter.

I'm using 4.9.3.166 on a Mac and there's no crashing for me when accessing the parameter settings "gear" icon for any of the morphs, including the navel.  Tried it by loading the full character directly as well as loading G3M and dialing in the shape then accessing the gear.  No crashes here.

[EDIT]  Your DS logs may tell you what went horribly wrong during the crash.

No log is created, it crashes immediately when clicking on "Parameter Settings..." which is under the gear icon for "Navel", its actually fine to click on the gear icon itself. Its an unusual type of crash.

redid Dante using facegen texture Of Bruce did some slight extra morphing in his face but for most part thought Dante all round was same shape and face structure as Bruce also features my brother (head) and sister
