I've had to reload the cart page a few times to get the freebie to show as free. But it works in an otherwise empty cart.
Strangely enough, The Skydome add on was $11 at first and then a few browser refreshes later and it went down to the proper discount. I also think there's a ton of activity on their end, in all departments.
Everything needing a backend is slow for me...adding and removing items from the cart...the continue shopping button etc...
I think Daz operates like a normal store, but forgets that customers mill around the front of their store and DISCUSS everything about the shopping experience.

Supermarkets give you coupons at checkout. They do not let you use them on the current purchase. You get them AFTER you buy your items, then you are free to re-enter the store and use the "checkout coupons" they just gave you. When you walk in, you are given the circular. That tells you what's curently on sale. (= the Daz banners) It doesn't tell you what bonus coupons you'll get from the cashier after you pay. And it's not consistent what you get. Sometimes you get a freebie with another purchase, sometimes it's a discount, sometimes it's even a coupon for another store. Sometimes nothing. No one shops at a store in order to get the extra coupons at checkout. Honestly, you don't even remember them and most discard them (hello free items that we'll never use) You shop based on the value, quality and bang for the buck based on the circular, again, that's the current banner at the top.
I think we need to make up our minds on how we want to be pitched to.
A) If Daz says BUY THIS AND YOU'LL GET THIS for free - you get upset because they are FORCING you to buy something to get something and then it REAAAALLLLLYYYYY isn't free.
B) If they say nothing and just literally give it to you for FREE (NO STRINGS, just FREE by their criteria and choosing) you get upset because you wanted to know A).
C) If they hint and say "Hey, you might get some free/discounted items depending on how much you Support our March Madness promotion" you'll want details. And it's suddenly a secret and not a 'secret' because the customers are all sitting outside the store discussing every aspect of the retail system.
At any rate, you want a precise and perfect balance: Enough information so you don't miss anything, but enough mystery so you don't feel manipulated - while still leaving room for happy surprises.
I wish Daz good luck with achieving that.
Is anybody else having problems downloading? My files are coming down incredibly slowly and 3 have failed so far. Not sure if it's on my end or DAZ.
I too am having this problem..and refreshing isn't fixing :(
No problem today, but definitely had this yesterday and the day before. I think it was on my end, but can't really be sure.
The Cute3D catalog doesn't seem to be getting the extra 20% discount when buying a "Newly Mad" release. Anyone else experiencing this?
I noticed that Stonemason didn't seem to be getting any extra discount either. Probably for the best for my credit.

As an example it works for nikisatez or forbiddenwhispers catalogs, but not Cute3D. Haven't checked other PAs.
I get emailed regular special deals by my supermarket as well as a weekly email of every special that might be of interest to me (ie it tells me when the stuff I've bought is now on special. They've never given me a surprise bonus after I bought things though.
I thought the sales ads changed at midnight my time (central) Is the Flash sale the new daily sale or just one that is going to only last a few hours???
Flash sales generally last a few hours (but it can be completely random.) They are different to the daily sales page.
honestly, I don't think much of anything here at DAZ changes at midnight central. And flash sales seem to be changing late morning or early afternoon central time (I'm on central too, and most flash stuff is still available before I go into work). But, flash sales don't always last for 24 hours. I think sometimes, they disappear after being purchased a certin number of times. So, I think it's a good idea to treat flash sales as very short lived. That said, they can even last several days, so it's very hard to know.
Am I missing something. The banner says "Up to 60% off as well as 3 featured DAZ Originals". There is a "Details Here" button but I can't find the details on the linked page.
In fact it looks like yesterday's MM page is still there.
Well, the store went down before I could check out so of course all the prices went back up and strangely even PC items are wrong. So another cart purge. Not sure if I should pursue with CS or just wait till the next sale of Unicorns and PC items...

I'm PC+ and a Bonus Buyer at the moment - so I really have no idea what kind of arcane magic calculates the discounts in my cart. If you went for something cheaper than Urban Future 5, you could check out for even less.
87% off total, with Creature Creator HD G2F and G2M is a pretty good bargain.
I just switched it up, and with FWSA Chastity, Grid Suit and Grid Suit Textures as my 3 items, it brings my checkout total down to $15.28 for 91% off.
I know we're not supposed to do this anymore because we don't want DAZ taking deals that are too good away, but I don't think anything here is a glitch, so Imma do it anyhow. :)

I am so happy that stonemason is the big heavy but depressed that they included Kilberto at the same time.
I did say I was hoping that this wouldn't happen. Two heavies at once.

The deal for today looks crazy no matter how you fill your cart.
I know Stonemason is the God STONEMASON, but there really is very little description of his product. What exactly is included? Are the cars? The lighting? The steam effects? The cameras? One promo is a closeup of a robot (included????) and the whole background is Bokeh blur... Are there any individual props? Is everything one big piece or can it be divided? Parts hidden? Anything movable? Most of the promos focus more on cars and vehicles than what's being sold and the description gives you no clue what is really included...
Tough call on today's sale. Don't really need the grid outfit..But it's okay...Got enough fembots... Don't really need another character... Not even sure I need another sci-fi set. But, there are three outfits in the freebies in my WL. So, I could spend the minimum and get what I wanted with some extras....Hmmm.
If it were new hair items, I'd have already pulled the trigger.

There doesn't seem to be much of a list; usually his sets include a full load and separate items.
There's the usual two or more for 50%, but if you buy two or more Newly mad (today's releases) you get another 20% off. Add in the 10% bonus buyer and I'm getting today's new releases at 64% off. Add the third item and you also get three of the Daz Originals free. It's a very good deal if there's stuff you want. I'm actually contemplating doing it twice to get six free DOs, as the cart works out under $25 for three new release plus three freebies.
In another thread, he linked the car to a product here on teh daz store - can't recall what it was tho. I did nab the set tho, and can tell you what's in it ...once the daz servers get fixed and I can actually log in to DS to download.
But I would say, going by other products, it is the buildings themselves only - not the rain or robot or car or bike or characters. And I think it will be one big set preload. Although you should be able to go in and move stuff around once it's loaded.
No robots, cars, cameras or atmospheric effects. There's a preload scene for Iray and one for 3Delight, with tons of separate parts. Here's a very quick and dirty (75% converged) out of the box Iray render with default render settings and dome on. It's a beautiful set and amazing value with today's madness deals,
Redz, you can make things invisible etc and move around? (I always try and make invisible/delete things that aren't going to be seen to help with the load on the computer)
Yes you can hide individual buildings, streetlights, trash, building stickers, decals etc.
