Caitlin for Genesis 3 Female(s) by addy. Seam visible between torso and leg textures. [FIXED]
Hi Everyone,
I finally got Caitlin by addy, http://www.daz3d.com/caitlin-for-genesis-3-female-s , and I discovered seams between her torso and leg textures. The seams show on both the left and right outer thigh (see pic). Can someone else confirm this? Hopefully addy will see this. If not ill try messaging her.

I have and there isn't; so check UVs are set correctly.
double check to make sure that the surface setting is exactly the same for the two different areas
I had a problem like that when I applied a skin from one set and a normals from another....if there's a mismatch it causes a seam right there. There's no way a seam that obvious would've made it past testing. My guess would be the normals issue or, as Chohole said, surface setting issue.
I've had em almost that bad, but granted not that bad
Sorry for the late reply... power has been off for the last couple hours. It dosent matter how I load the character, preset or morph then skin, she always comes out with seams in the legs. Ive checked all the surface settings and everything looks right...
I have the character and I never noticed that...lol. Of course, that doesn't mean there ISN'T a problem. I frequently don't notice things ;).

Yah I just dont get why no one else isnt having this issue (although I shouldnt be suprised
). Laurie, your avatar is fantastic by the way!
Well, well....whadda ya know? It does it for me too. Loads that way. However, if I change the UVs from Vicky 7 to Base Female it disappears :).
Laurie
Can you please report this as a bug
thank you
Reporting now. Thanks for confirming Laurie.
Reported.
Quick, get the Raid (or whatever the equivalent is where you live).
No problem :)
Laurie
Confirmed by tech support.
That could also be a gamma setting issue in either the specular or diffuse maps. I've ahd that happen where the gamma setting for specular maps is set at 0 for some maps and at 1 for others, causing that difference.
Yep! You're right Chohole, ... that's definately a bug!
The character loads (called Victoria 7) but uses default (G3F) UVs. Even if I change the UVs to v7, still no seem.
I use 4.9.3.166 Beta.
It would affect all the texture, not just a small section. Or at least, the many times I've had to change it, it has.
Newspaper first, then something like Raid.
So, nicstt, your still not seeing this? I noticed that your on the beta, do you still have 4.8 running as well? Could you check her on that?
I did and not seeing there either.
EDIT:
As you can see, no seams; loads stating V7, but uses Default UVs.
And I rendered too, to be sure; no seams.
Mine loads with V7 UVs. o.O....Strange. Was there an update??
Laurie
Not sure. But if nicstt is loading correct across two versions, maybe this is an issue with daz?
Well, as soon as my render is finished I'll have to try some things. In order to see if I was getting the split seam too, I loaded full character from the character folder. It loaded with V7 uvs and with the seam showing. I changed the uvs to Base Female and poof....it was gone. I think I need to try adding her texture to a vanilla G3F then add the morph and see if that's different.
Laurie
Well, I already tried the morph on a straight g3f and then applied the skin. I got the same seams.
As you can seen, it's a year since I bought the character. There have been no updates as I recall, and none are showing.
and which UV set is being used after applying the skin? Morphs have nothing to do with textures.
She loads with a v7 uv.
Which, by what others have said, is not correct - do the seams go away if you set that to the default UV set? If so that would still be a bug, and I would recommend saving a fresh set of Materials presets for the combos you use pending a fix, but at least it would have a simple work-around.
Mine loads with a V7 uv also. The seam does go away if I switch to base female uvs. I can work around it ;).
Laurie
According to tech support, this has been fixed. Havent tried it out yet.
