This is the actual productpage with more info: https://facegen.com/artist.htm
It's a third party product:

A much earlier version is the basis for Poser's Face Room...
Edit: X-post with Ati
It definitely screamed that. My ears are still ringing.
Looks like an awesome product. For that price though I, sadly, have to pass.
I want to know what makes it worth $70 more, on sale, than Headshop Oneclick.
To me, the problem with all of these programs is that they take a neutral face photograph and create a base face from that.
As soon as you start adding expressions, the similarity is going to erode. I guess this one creates a texture map too?
That's been my attitude for all those products.
I've wish-listed it, just to remind myself see if the questions I have get answered.
I have enough problems getting skin to look natural when the figure uses high quality reference photographs. I'll take some convincing that this can do anything like a decent job on the fly, as it were. I mean, even with professionally produced skins, there are areas where hand-painting is obvious - often the scalp (probably because the refernece model had hair) and between the upper-inner thinghs/groin where the texture is prone to stretching.
Anyhow, I'd like to see some close-up renders before I'm convinced.
If you go the link that Ati and I posted above, you can download a demo version...
Well, that is kind of cool that they've got a demo version that is full featured.
I contacted the seller yesterday. If you only use Genesis 1 & 2 figures, the Home version is for sale on their website and is only $69.The only difference between the Home and Pro version being the abiilty to use it with Genesis 3 figures, everything else is exactly the same. Also there is a demo on their website.
Might check out the demo, thanks.
I don't remember the output texture size for the Pro version; wouldn't waste my cash on the previous versions due to the output size.

Can I adjust the resolution of the exported texture maps ?
This is done automatically based on the amount of detail in the source photo, up to a max size of 2048x2048 (32-bit) or 4096x4096 (64-bit version).
Yeh I got 4096, but jpg in the demo; for the cost, I'd want png as an option. Perhaps the full version does that.
After playing with it, its fun, but not worth the cost.
Trying to resist FaceGen at the moment. Looks like a great product, but still really haven't used the Faceshop One Click thingie very much.
Today's Damien bundle got me. The discounts are working, and they are really good for the amount of products in there. $37 for the Pro Bundle. I looked and I paid $39 for Anneka Pro. Really like the content in both bundles, and I don't tend to render many demons or monsters, but these were just too good to resist.
So... they're enjoying the stacking discussions, I guess.
What stacking discussions?
The ones we usually have here? Price-stacking. I was commenting on things like the 'Platinum Loop'.
The sale today says PC+ pricing... but I don't see anything for $1.99 in there.
Anyone know how this works...
New Releases 30% OFF
PC+ members Get an extra 30% off
------------------ Sounds like there should be a total of 60% for some.... ----------------------
Featured Artist Catalogs 40%* OFF
no additional purchase required
PC+ members Get an extra 30% off
---------------------------- Reads like a 70% savings for some ----------------------------------
Why doesn't that figure in the costs? What am I figuring wrongly?
It says PC+ savings on non-PC+ Items - which means 30% off.
Not PC+ prices for old items $1.99 up to newer items $7.99 ... sadly.
In this case the wording is correct.
You are figuring wrongly that the percentages add ... it's never adding here at Daz.
It is first taking off 30% off of the full price - and then 30% off of the reduced price (for new items, for the artist catalogue items it takes 40% off of the full price and then 30% off of the reduced price).
The "clue" is in the banner:
PC+ members get an additional 30% off of new Daz Originals, for a combined discount of 51%. In this sale, PA items are getting the additional 30%. What I can't tell from the ad-copy is if non-members are also getting the additional 30%.
For the featured artists catalogs, all items are being discounted as if they were Daz Originals for PC+ members. And no purchase is required to trigger the discounts.
Also, Nightshift3d and OziChick have Daz Original items. Combined discounts for those are 71%. Filter by Artist to isolate just the Daz Originals.
Starting here, I compared vendors in all the sales. Who overlaps with who, and how the artists who are listed in each store (the collaborators) varies. I also give you a list of some of the deals when you combine products and the one sale that triggers many of the discounts. There's several posts. Also looking for the answer (not theories,as I'm not doing anymore testing) as to why the artist dropdown list changes, it's not new releases or just sale items that are affected.
I started to create a Daz Buying Guide Video Series.
First Episode is online: https://youtu.be/skkR_KQK4zQ
Next is coming on the Weekend or beginning of next week.
Would be happy to get some feedback!
sales always make wish i had more money lol
My opinion is that it is way too long. It could not hold my attention for 20 minutes. It should list the 5 points up front, so people can see what will be discussed. For many people, that will be sufficient.
Thanks for the feedback.
Going to try to keep the next episode shorter
So, today's sale takes you to 60%. Any stacking out there to get farther?
Some DO items and some fastgrab items stack with the extra 20%.
If last MM is a predictor it is likeley that you get these prices or better multiple times over the next 4-6 weeks, So I'm sitting this out
