 RAVE REVIEWS

Bought her.  LOVE her.

Another wonderful model, thank you for this.

I am really pleased with this character - probably the finest G3 I have.

Immediate purchase for me, and thanks to you listing other products you used, it generated sales from me for a few of them too.

I was trying to wait on divamakeup to start a thread, but she took too long. Congratulations Saiyaness! You did it again. Realism. Distinctiveness. Excellent choice of hairs in the promos to aid in realism. Multiple examples of lighting with the names of the products (Daz, this should be required encouraged of all character promos). I'm out of 3D money right now, but she'll be mine before the month is out.

hahah I usually only start threads on the official Daz figure releases. :)

But I'm glad to see others are blown away with the new Saiyaness release. Nyarai looks awesome in the promo images and she definitely deserves her own thread! :D I hope people post some renders of her. :)

Thanks for the heads up. Now I know. And thanks for putting a link in (I forgot). Always a pleasure to see your avatar.

  • Saiyaness characters/textures are an instant buy in my opinion with attention to detail in every way.  However, I also want to point out that not only does she do an amazing job with the iray shaders but her textures in 3Delight look almost as good and render stunningly in both iray or 3dl.  Can't say that about the majority of characters/textures I've bought.   So grats to Saiyaness for creating another stunning character to your collection.

  • Thank you, xyer0, Diva and BlackTalonArts! *__*

    I'll add a few points:

1: My Products Used list was very long, so most of it gets cut :p If anyone needs to know a product, let me know!

2: I reshaped (messily) Dax Hair in ZBrush so it hung a little better in some promos. (Also, I love that hair and am in serious danger of over-using it...)

3: I hope the lighting examples were kinda useful. (Some of the HDRI shots may have had mesh lights for key, rim, or both. Specular looks a little nicer.)

4: If people want examples of my skins on other morphs, like Victoria 7, I can provide that. I hate detracting from the main character/person, but I know I'm one to buy skins for skins and slap them on OC's.

Anywho, thank you for the support! I love making skins! (That's a hard one to explain to people....) >=)

  • I knew this was Saiyaness as soon as I saw her! She is a stunning character blown away by this one!

  • Oh, here's two additional promos I scrapped. I wasn't entirely happy with them, but I'll chuck 'em up here. :p

The lighting examples were more than useful for me. Thank you for doing that. That's not something I would expect any PA to do, but I very much appreciate it nonetheless.

And there's not much more to be said of Nyarai that hasn't already been said. She is truly a beauty and very unique. Really incredible work and detail. I told myself no more purchases till payday, but it's hard to resist someone like her. ;)

The skin and particularly her eyes were what grabbed my attention. No blindingly white sclerae here! Beautiful work, Saiyoness, and yes please, I'd love to see her skins on alternate characters.

Thank you, @xyer0 - I had a quick look (just the thumbnail from the offer she is included in) and I hesitated but passed.  Then I saw this thread and with a deep sigh actually looked at the product and well, isn't she just abso-blooming-lutley lovely!  And mine, dammit! cheeky  Please take a peek at your Messages!

Very diverse and useful character! If I add facial hair, I can also use Nyarai as a man/boy. Excellent. Two for the price of one!

Thank you back, SimonJM, you darling, you! I'm dressing her now for an excursion.

2: Excellent work on Dax Hair; it looks just like she has a perm. 3: The lighting examples were ABSOLUTELY useful because now I have an idea where to start. And thanks for telling us that you added some mesh lights on some of the shots. 4: If you have any of these lying around already, then please post them. Otherwise, I dial my own morphs to put under your skins (I own your entire store except for Quinn and Ceridwen---whom I will get as soon as she goes back on sale). Thanks for the extra renders.

Yes Bravo!   Variety in model types definitely adds to the expansion of ideas and scenarios the Daz artist has to play around with and explore.  Glad some of the PAs aren't adverse to taking a risk with widening the palette, and I hope they are duly rewarded.

  • I love the looks of this figure!  She has great skin and a great morph.  I love the promos with the different lighting!  That's so useful I just posted about it in Art of the Promo.  I hadn't seen this thread yet.

    Absolutely gorgeous! Insta buy.

And the lighting examples are a fantastic help- that was really thoughtful of you to post them!

I'm still hoping you'll find the time to put out an Albino skin. Something with the delicacy, translucency and pinks of the famous Russian Albino model. I love painting that intensely white skin due to the lovely reflections it pick s up. Does that make  it difficult to model

A very quick first try out:

  • If it's okay with RawArt, I'll try an albino skin one day. It'll take a lot of mucking around - albino skin is different to just pale skin. Anywho, if I start one, I'll ask him first. :)

The first render (purple background) was a test I did on a morphed Genevieve (spelling? urgh) when I was contemplating using the skin for her.

The other two were some older morphs and tests I had for her...I was still experimenting with and tidying the skin, making spec maps, make-up ideas, morphs, etc...

I don't have any renders of her on other figures (nothing I saved, anyway :p)

Most of my other tests are naked. Can't show that :p

  • I think this may be one of the most realistic looking skins in the store.  Looking forward to more of your characters!

Hi, could you please share some tips about how you reshaped Dax Hair in ZBrush. Are you edited hair with the posed character?

What kind of tools have you used in ZBrush?

Gosh, it was pretty technical. (Lies :p)

Basically I posed Nyarai, got the hair as close as I could to the pose I wanted, and then sent the hair to ZBrush, via GoZ, and then used the Move and Smooth Brush to smoosh it into place. The hair is super dense, so I didn't muck around too much. Once it was back in Daz, I saved the morph as a morph asset, so if I needed to re-render the promo, the morph was there.

I'm 100% sure there's a better method (and you could do it in other programs, hell, probably D-Formers in Daz) but that worked for me. *_*

    Hope that helped! :)

Thanks for the extra renders and the ZBrush tips, Saiyaness. I'm rendering Nyarai now; it took me some time to find/fix hair that didn't spoil the illusion her skin and morph created.

Thanks SimonJM, RobotHeadArt, and Artini for posting renders so we can see new perspectives of this special girl.

[bolded by me] I LOVE LOVE LOVE this addition to the promos! Best idea ever. Besides the fact that I'm in love with your creations, seeing her under different lighting conditions REALLY helps.
