Thanks for the reminder.  Had the character wishlisted, but went back and really looked at all the promo pics and she is a keeper.  I'm particularly grateful for the listing of products used in those promos, because it's very nice to see how certain item (that one may actually already own) are being used in new and interesting ways.  It's a win win for everybody.

I have an odd request. Could someone post a render or two of close-ups of her feet? I find that feet and hands tend to add a lot of realism if they are done right, but can really take away from realism if not enough detail is added to them.

If one of you guys that bought her could post a render or two of her feet close-up, I'd appreciate it. I want to be pretty sure I'd be happy with her before making the purchase. :)

    Whoa! Amazing detail! :D

    Thank you, xyer0!

I wish they weren't completely identical though. Would have been nice to have a bit of a difference instead of mirroring the feet textures. Ah well, I should be able to make some changes to the texture in Photoshop so that they aren't identical anymore.

I try to texture as asymmetrically as possible, but in some cases, I have to use the mirrored version. Sometimes I miss mirrored details.

Thanks for pointing it out though - I'll try to be more careful in future.

Oh man, I'm sorry if I made you feel bad or made it sound like I was insulting the character or your work - she really is an awesome character! :) I hope you don't hold any hard feelings toward me - sometimes I speak/type before I think. /doh

No offense taken! It did sound a bit clipped. I'm tired. X_X

I do try, but like I said, sometimes I miss those mirrored details. In a perfect world, I'd have close-ups of both arms, feet, hands, etc, but I don't, so I'll just have to work harder to fake it. :p

Constructive criticism is always good. :)

    Take care!

I like. Thanks for posting a render. Was there any glass in the window? I'd like to see some reflection.

Not a bad idea,  and I think that's what it's missing.  Yeah, I'll relight it for the reflection.  Thanks

Looking at it now,  I probably need to change the chair, as it doesn't reflect the idea of the  executive office I wanted so much as a resturant.

Alas, no render is ever fully complete.

Oh, here's two additional promos I scrapped. I wasn't entirely happy with them, but I'll chuck 'em up here. :p

What do you mean, you "weren't entirely happy with them?"  My first thought at the second was "That's a render?"

    Nyarai YoungLove

    Nyarai met Yasher.

Yasher's dad said, "Her daddy's trash. Her momma's trash."

    Yasher says, "But she's treasure."

Yasher's dad said, "Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'."

Yasher says, "But the universe was created out of nothing. Nothing but the Word: Love."

Yasher's dad said, "What choo know 'bout love?! You ain't nothin' but a pup!"

Yasher says, "But even a puppy has enough sense to love and playunless someone beats it out of him."

    Yasher's dad said, "You'll see."

Whether it was biology, psychology, astrology or something more, Yasher knew in his soul from the day he saw Nyarai that she was special. In that first moment, he felt her energy like a wave going through him. She was supernatural. And he was too young and too stupid to talk himself out of it. Could forever last all their lives? He counted her for what she was, not for what she wasn't. Gentle, like her name foretold, but also full of fire if she were interested. When she looked at him, he felt that all things were possible. A woman's love can exalt a manchild or destroy him. The right woman's love, when reciprocated, changes the course of history for all humankind. Nyarai was the right woman. If only Yasher can live up to her love.

Perfect! Thanks for letting me see the results. I think that adds the missing element. Can you tell me how to send a notification like you did with @myname?

If you don't mind sharing, would you explain what you adjusted to achieve this lovely reflection?

If you can angle the glass, it helps, but:
Select glass in the Surfaces Tab:
    Change the color to white.
Remove the limits on the parameter settings and bump Reflection str. to 10.
Set Index of refraction to 3.

There is a youtube vid on dramatic reflections but it's done using 3DL, and he changed a lot of setting that you don't have in Iray,  I changed the ones I did have and was able to achieve a better reflection, but I still haven't managed to get the degree of glass reflection that I'm really looking for.  I'm still playing with the settings.

Oh yeah, the reflection was still rather dim after all that,  using Topaz filters and "Crisp" it really made the reflection stand out much more.

But thanks a lot for the suggestion.  I think it made for a much better and more interesting image.

Royalty free photo of the London skyline I found.

Hmmm,  I didn't know it sent a notification.  I simply used the @myname like I do when replying to someone on most threads in FB or Youtube.

What I'd like to know is how do you get full sized renders to show up in comments rather than thumbnails?

You click on the thumbnail  to bring it up to full size,  then you right click on the full size image and select "copy imagae location" from the drop down box.   The you click the gear icon on your post and select to edit it, and add the url to the url bar in the image tool  up above the typing panel   It's the one that looks a bit like a picture, next to the box with a flag in it.

Thanks Chohole,  I've been wondering about that . . . for about a year now.

@Chohole: Madam Chohole, how do you get a single post with image in the text body and an attached thumbnail? I have tried clicking on the thumbnail, but nothing happens unless I first POST COMMENT. Thus, I have been double posting: The first for the thumbnail, the second for the image in the text body.
