BTW, what is the difference between Dragelle 01 CHR Iray and Raw Dragelle HD?

There is no difference...just different naming for different locations in the library

As for tail placment, there is alot more to consider than just anatomical accuracy. As someone pointed out, you also have to consider how clothing will fit, you also have to consider how the mesh of the original figure is laid out, the reality is that it is not laid out well for making a tail. There is also how the rigging comes into play, if the tail is to work properly it has to be based off the hip, if it gets lower then there will be weird issues with thigh movements. Sure all things could be worked around and made this way or that way....but that is where the product creator has to make decisions as to what they think works best and looks best. It is not just a simple matter of logical anatomy.

I am curious why this character is considered 'anime' style? Just wondering.

Because this style of "Half Dragon" is found generally in Anime...and her facial features are slightly stylized (I don't really do "toon" work, so this is about as far as I can stretch into that genre LOL)

    Rawn

Beautiful character, and I appreciate the detail,  which seems to be a consistent trait with all your work.

For those with a problem with the tail placement,  you simply need to be very aware of the angles of your renders, this style of character has always required some suspension of disbelief.

  • In general, most hair seems to be working well.  I'm rendering now.  Any specific hairs you want me to test?

  • Hmm.  A bit of a correction there.  Basically, the hair ignores the horns.  Which is fine from some angles, but causes problems from others that make it look like the horn is stuck onto the hair from the outside.

The hair has a bit more trouble with the ears, and tries to spread out with them.  Might be a way to correct this, I'm not sure on this first pass.

Clockwise from top:  Fayette, Galene, Kylan, and Frawn hairs.

Round 2: Mada, Leyton, Odessa, Minerva.  Mada seems to have some thinning problems, while the laurels on Odessa conflict with the horns.

I'd say hair looks a lot better than what I was expecting.

She is beautiful and very original. Great work, Rawn!

With a tail at the anatomical right spot, she would need special garments for her lower body. Clothing with a big round opening, or clothing just covering her front.

Very true, wish it was an option though.

ya know I was just thinking this would be how you would do a scorpion lady too

Wouldn't the tail just poke through, making it look like the clothing had a hole through it, anyway?

Elf ears and hair - two ways to cope here:

Not necessarily. It might, or it might try to conform to the tail and leave parts exposed that normally wouldn't be seen in polite company.
