She looks kinda cute without her horns. Hmm...
Hair that might work with those horns:

Once again, something that would've been useful, had there been a male companion too.
I am curious why this character is considered 'anime' style? Just wondering.
Because this style of "Half Dragon" is found generally in Anime...and her facial features are slightly stylized (I don't really do "toon" work, so this is about as far as I can stretch into that genre LOL)
Rawn
She's not human, so 'too high' as relates to what?
Seems about right to me.
I think this is the first time since George that I've bought something day-of-release that wasn't just the cheapest trigger for some other sale.
She's very likely to be the second thing ever that I buy first day; Elijah 7 was the first one ever.
Beautiful leg and stomach muscles and your best female face yet, Rawn. Can't wait to get home and put a mohawk on her ( even if it's mostly PS) I can totally see her with a zebra or Przwalski's horse style mane/ mohawk leading down to the tail. Or maybe since she'd kinda reptilian she needs a feather style crest.... Anyway- thank you for making her!!
Ok, I took my current project and merged her in through various ways. The hair seems to agree with it.
This is purely Dragelle.
This is the Dragelle skin on Aiko+HFS Elf.
This is the Dragelle shape with a re-colored Lady Rune texture.
And this... I'll do better once I get home and can do a proper texture blend, but it's merging the dragony bits of the texture with the lady rune texture. Also on the Dragelle shape. Didn't seem to work very well as the blanket coloring is stomping too hard on the dragon coloring.
The human spine.
That tail exits at near a right angle to the spine at about the tenth thoracic vertibrae. There's no room for the sort of complex joint that it would take to branch off a large, powerful tail mid-spine, not to mention the sort of muscles it would take to actuate it. That's also about where the ribs attach (T9 is the last vertibrae with ribs). There's a ton of good biophysical reasons why the tail attaches to the pelvis. Have a look at the skeleton of any monkey with a prehensile tail.
The best you could do without a total redesign of the skeleton is a couple of lightweight tenticles (feelers, really) that attached to T10 like modified ribs. A realistic mid-spine tail would require a large bony structure where T10 is, with a socket on top for T9, two sockets at the bottom for T11 and the first tail vertibrae, and about 8 processes for the tendons required to anchor it top and bottom. Then new muscles, sort of like a girdle.
Well then, you do you.
I personally am okay with the Dragelle design as a piece of artistic license, but I just wanted to say that I found this explanation really interesting and informative. As a matter of curiosity, what would the outside of the torso of such a creature look like? Ribcage extending further down? Extra abdominal muscles, sort of an 8-pack or 12-pack?
This isn't really the thread for a discussion of how a reptiloid tail would really attach to a human, it's a thread on a particular fantasy character. If the fantasy doesn't work for you that is of course fine - we all have our limits on the suspension of disbelief - but the discussion, if there is one, should be elsewhere.
Oh, those with tail issues, look at demonara. I don't have an issue as the more creature features, the better
I think the tail and horns look so awesome. I admit I love all the monster characters.
Nice work, RawArt.
Nice to see artwork with her (though...she is a therapod, would she really need shoes? LOL)
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing while it was rendering.
I think she is lovely. Beautiful face and banging body. Since I'm not into creatures I would love her if she had a regular human feet option. I know the point is that she is half dragon, so she's in my cart until payday. What is the outfit in the main promo?
One of my first renders with her...
Nice!
Thanks, thistledownsname.
I think she looks great but I'm wondering what would happen if you put a long normal hairstyle on her. Wouldn't the horns just pop through the top of the hair figure? Can anyone try a render with long hair, maybe OOT or Caylin Hair, or some regular human long hair so we can see what it looks like?
Cool...more renders. Ya'll got some interesting ideas for her :)
@ALLIEKATBLUE I am glad you like how she looks outside the dragon style....but for human looks, well, those will have to come with my human characters. I cannot really make one that does everything. No worries, i will have more humans with banging bodies too ;)
@ Wonderland yes the horns will mess with the hair, some may work "decently" but there really is no single answer to how it all will work together with different hairs
Well, I'm hoping someone will try a long hair render, just out of curiosity. I love the character but will probably wait till on deeper sale and I suppose if no hair works, I'll have to brush up on my hair painting skills...
I thought I recognized quality work.
I've often wondered why tails aren't grafted to the base of the spine, like they are for animals in nature. They always look like they stick straight out of the back. I can see the problem, though.
Is it possible, instead of grafting a tail, it could be made to fit like clothing? Or, how about grafting a back plate to the original spot, but with the tail lower on the plate?
Just thinking out loud. I realize that it would be a pain to do it on this character, now.
Beautiful character all in all. It's in my wishlist now. :)
I'll see what I can do.
BTW, what is the difference between Dragelle 01 CHR Iray and Raw Dragelle HD?
With a tail at the anatomical right spot, she would need special garments for her lower body. Clothing with a big round opening, or clothing just covering her front.
