I think the creators are trying to come up with additional options for the base male figures as female base figures come with several makeup options, and the base figures are always the same price, so the perception was one was getting less for the same cost.
I only look at the no-makeup promos to decide if I want a figure. I'm not into the goth look, either...
Very nice. I was floored because the dicount dropped the Pro Bundle price down to $5.00 + some change when I put it in my cart. I would have bought it at the usual $52.90 price that I see, but it was a delightful surprise. My 3D budget will last considerably longer this month.
The face, somewhat and the fact that he isn't built like a body builder. David was, out of the box, a younger, slimmer, shorter and less excercised male. The boy next door, not the boy you all admired out on the rugby field (or whatever was your fave sport)
Wow, thank you for the freebie, Silver; and thanks for Ekko! From the promo, he looks great (just downloaded the Pro Bundle). But I have to thank Daz, too, for this very generous offer! I was hesitating to purchase Elijah - he's so skinny! But I also saw that he's a VERY interesting character; so I think I'll like him.
What about bouncing prices? The Pro Bundle was $19 and change when I put it into my cart 20 minutes ago, a moment ago it was $50-something, and now it's $40 — the store needs another carefully calibrated kick in the database, methinks.
Edit: Found it, I think; the Pro and Starter bundles have lost their intro discounts (they were there half an hour ago), although just Elijah on its own still has it.
At the moment the store is running right,
Yes, no discount at all on the bundles?! That makes no sense.
Fantastic picture, Melissa!
I take back my last comment and say instead, this has been reported.
Fixed, thanks. Bought it before anything else goes worng.
Same here! Elijah and his Pro bundle add some missing elements to a character and a book cover I've been working on. And that Heath Hair was badly needed for the guys! It looks fantastic.
@Silver thank you for the transmap. The mesh shirt looked great in the promos. Did you just have a baby? Love your avatar!
I've noticed that in several of the renders here.....that....dent....on the underside of his nose, just above the philtrum. That doesn't look right......
The skin resource looks familiar to me. I can't place it? I thought Gianni but a friend suggested it was Davids materials. I have seen that skin before just can't place it
Yup all downloads turned up some hours later as well as an orange banner with a Ryan-level discount. What's not to like? (Answer; the makeup.)
And yes, a distinctively different body type to add to the pool. Quite welcome. And also quite welcome is AprilYSH's Heath hair. Her old Glyn hair is one of my favorites of her back catalog, but this looks like an excellent update/reworking of a very similar style.
Some people have such nose features, I've seen them although I had to search to find out what it's acutually called: bifid tip; although to me it does look like the lighting or something on that render makes it look like the model has something stuck to his nose.
Wow, really nice male figure and great sale too :D
Just some quick renders with morphs:
Can't have enough goog male figures.
Bought the moment I saw him.
Perfect face for a young artist, poet, writer...I'm guessing a fix for the tip of the nose is in the works.
As for the kilt, I can make it work, but am hoping the amazing DestinysGarden will add some plaids to her next shader set. ( Please !) I'd love to see a shader set featuring, Ireland/Scotland, Indian and African textiles
You should be able to remove that by "healing" the area of the face normal map in Photoshop. Not sure how to do so in other programs, but in past figures, the nose dimple (oops, "bifid tip,") was in the normals... And as nonesuch00 pointed out, the lighting on that render really makes the dimple stand out. It's hardly noticable in the three images in nohiznguyen's post
And not really noticable in the add-on character textures, either.
Had the weirdest thing happen with the Heath hair. DIM showed it as two downloads, one male, one female, that both failed. But my web "product library" showed one download, 160M Heath hair for G3 male and female, and that downloaded just fine, and as soon as I dropped it into the DIM downloads directory and refreshed, the DIM pending downloads of the separate male and female versions vanished.
Now, the product library is showing the templates at 22 bytes. ;)
In manual download it's all one package with separate male and female versions in the People folder.
Just noticed that myself as I was downloading the Heath hair. Just as well I hardly ever need the templates.
I love him so much! Thank you forever, DAZ!

He looks awesome. Thanks Daz 3D and all involved artists for create him.
Huh. Just realized that Heath hair didn't show up in my Connect at all.
WHOA! that's awesome!
I'm not into him, per se, but I like several of the items that the probundle comes with. My price will be $19 for the probundle, so not a bad deal.
Thank you! I feel like I'm one step closer to my dream of "I wanna be j cade when I grow up."
