I missed the POINT

I am doing morph targets for a head and am having trouble selecting the correct POINTS inside the mouth in airframe mod from all the clutter. I would like to turn off or make invisible most of all the geometry on the BACK of head in the vertex model room! I know you can do that but can recall how to do that

    Select what you want to hide, pull down the view menu, then click hide selection.

    or Ctrl +\

    You can select by shader domains or vertex group names if you have them set up.
