Have you considered a 3DL version as another product? I could certainly use some good 3DL ice shaders.
Hi Sriesch, I dont think that 3DL can produce the same effect, maybe I can take a look at 3DL to see what is possible
The update is now online, launch your DIM and update to the last version. When done you will see new thumbs for the default materials.
The changes are for Material are:
ON and OFF preset to Dispersion refraction, its like turn on a rainbow inside the ice shaders, its very cool (not really precise for a ice shader, but its cool)
New shaders:
Hope you all enjoy and remeber that the shader use painted maps, so sometimes tiling can create a very bad render, but will work most the time.
Thanks for the update. Just a quick test.
Cool and funny! Try the Dispersion thing to see how its works.
Wow, cool & funny. Onto my wish list.
This is going to be so useful thank you very much! Have a render going but will update as soon as its done.
Please post your renders and ideas!
I really like the shaders and what you can do with them. Here's a render using the old Forktail Dragon and Genesis 1 child...

As it turns out, hair (and the horse mane) works best with the blue shader.

Unicorns and dispersion = rainbowww!
Yes, though I don't know why the head turned out so dark. I used the crystal shader, so it should be all the same. Also, I re-added the transparency map to the Cutout Opacity channel to get the strands showing in the hair and mane.
Great, I am having ome trouble with other shaders also. Creating a fire sister for the frozen girls I dont know why but I get a very bright ears compared to the rest, maybe some problems with Iray...
It might have to do with "tight spaces" and the volumetric effect. I remember having similar problems when I was working in a volumetric ghost shader way back when...
For tinkering around, I threw some colour at the shaders, and I must say, I like the set more and more with each render.
The renders below are just quick testrenders, each only rendering 60 iterations or so. Sorry for the bad quality.
Applied Red to base color and glossy color slot of the crystal shader:
Applied Red to the base colour and the translucency colour:
Applied red to the base colour of the blue ice shader:
Those looks very nice, BeeMKay. Have to try recoloring myself.
I wasn't going to buy this but adding the new shaders hooked me and I just picked it up in the Catchup Sale.
