Are you not being asked where to save the render to? If so, select a non-system folder to save the rendered images to.

I am not being asked anything at all. The image renders and at the end I get that error. and it is only one image that renders. I still see the rendered image however there is no dome at all just the models in which Ioaded.
Light Dome PRO - R and Studio Light PRO DS 4.6 Edition
Dreamlight talks about their program wherein you're exporting still frames of your animation as stills with layers for tweaking an image from what looks like it ought to be a whole animated sequence in Photoshop. All fine so far. Looks very useful. (maybe you don't export it in layers but create them in PS, but since I am thinking to buy the program I would like to know what I'm getting and what it will do.)
What's limiting me is knowing whether after you do all your tweaking of the layers with the lighting or whatever, and you flatten it back into a single (jpg?) image:
1) how do you put that back into DAZ in proper sequence and recreate your tweaked animation from stills? (assuming I understand what it does).
2) Is this the best/most automated way to do this activity?
I assume you are rendering and tweaking an entire sequence for the purposes of re-animating it. This isn't merely for creating a single stand alone still image like an illustrator would do is it? I mean, the point of it all is for the movie, I hope I hope.
Thanks.
I am going to assume that you have the LDP-R camera as the current viewport camera and are rendering thru it before hitting render LDP-R.
Immediately you should be in the pop-up window titled "Select base render directory" This is the pop-up (window) where you navigate to a folder to save the images into. Avoid system folders.
Your best bet is to ask the vendor for help at this point if the above are the steps that you are moving thru and not being asked to select a directory (folder) into which to save your rendered images to.

Yes my current viewport is the LDP-R camera. I have tried many things but still the same issue. Thanks for all the effort in trying to help me resolve this.
I would not think you put it back into DAZ but rather a movie editor to complile a mp4 or mov file.
DAZ imports only still images.
I do not have Dreamlights product but assume he is talking about post render production for making a video.
Very helpful. Maybe that's why I had trouble searching for the answer, that is it's not discussed because nobody does it because it can't be done that way.
I did see a bit on arguments why one would consider exporting one frame at a time. But that was for Poser and another free 3rd party app (VirtualDub) designed to put them back together -- for PC. But that was the closest I came to it. I'm going to be doing BootCamp and Windows 8.1 (hope it's compatable), so I suppose I could move it over from the Mac side to the PC side. I long for the day I can get past figuring out all this and getting all my ducks in a row so i could just go ahead and animate my little bit of movie.
Thanks so much!
The following is in case any other newbies wants a leg up on how to do this process and why, plus a step or two beyond, like compression. It's good info and a free tool. (This article looks as if it once had screen grab illustrations but they aren't there anymore. But it's figure-outable without them I believe.):

I always render to image series and use Vdub to do avi but on a Mac you would use quicktime to do the same to mov I would have thought
Merged with main LDP-R thread.
well I would not have answered this question if it had been merged before I saw it
Wendy,
Thanks for that about Quicktime. I do have that in the old Pro 7 version so that should work fine. Maybe even the later versions would do it.
As to merging this thread I started, while it fits with this other thread, I couldn't find it suddenly and thought they had deleted it. There was no trace to lead me back here on page 37. Talk about getting buried. Don't forums usually post the most recent posts first?
At any rate, thankfully you posted when you did because it clarified my next steps and I consider it answered though I would love more discussion on it. I would be surprised if anyone else sees it back here.
Now I have to figure out whether the latest plug ins work with DAZ 4.7. They say 4.6, and with all the other previous bits about their earlier content working only with v3, I'm not sure whether to get it. At least I'm in this thread and there may be some chatter on compatibility.
I recently bought the Light Dome Pro-R (boy, that's a mouthful) and I can assure you that it works without issue in the latest Daz version, at least, in my case. That being said, I have a couple of questions about it:
- I see the skydome doesn't take shadows, I tried to get around it by using a shadowcatcher (one of the Yosemite Pack's), but the results aren't quite what I wanted, is it worth it to get the "Light Dome Pro-R Mastery" tutorial and use the included shadow dome? How does that work?
- There was talk about doing animation with the Light Dome Pro-R, are there any news about it? I can't quite see how to manage that without wasting too much time in post-production, unless it managed to automatically apply the same adjustments to all the frames.
- I purchased the product through Dreamlight's page, but... Well, do the purchased downloads ever expire? My freebies are gone, and, although that isn't an issue, I am not that thrilled about that happening to this pack.
- Is this at all compatible with the "Render Sphere"? It looks cool, but I guess there's no way to render and combine all of the layers.
Thanks.
I did.
Whenever I turn an LDP-R skydome on in a scene and render with Iray, the render is completely black. It renders fine in 3Delight, though. Is there something I can fix to stop this from happening?
(Sorry for the necro, and for the noobness of this question.)
I used this weekend's sale as a chance to grab this for half-off, but PS and postwork isn't really my strength, and I'm having some trouble. In the combined image I end up with (using default settings, the recommended render settings, and the "Remove Ambient" option), the environment ends up looking a little brighter and washed-out than I'd like, but not too bad--I could live with it. But my characters are just getting completely blown-out, to the point where in some cases they're barely more than white humanoid-shaped blobs. Now, I know how to correct that with "normal" lighting--I'd just turn the intensity of various lights down until I got the look I wanted. But this program's settings seem to be so pre-set and specific that I'm hesitant to touch anything. The videos and readme tell you that all the editing is intended to be done afterward in PS, but like I said I'm just not enough of a PS expert to really know how to fix this. I'm pretty much just sitting here randomly adjusting layer opacities and not making much of a difference. Does anyone have any tips on things I might try?
Are you trying to use it on Iray, by chance? The light settings are exclusively for 3Delight, so you will have to change the render settings to it.
If you are using Iray, look at the lights used. Any distant light needs to be toned down to 10-15 in luminance. The other lights need to be cranked up to around 35.000-45.000. But even then, the lights will not look the same.
No, I am using 3Delight, since I know that's what it was designed for and I figured I'd use it as-intended first before trying to get fancy. I just can't figure out what's going on with my characters... or if they're even the problem at all. Is it that they're rendering so much more brightly-lit than the environment around them, or is just more obvious when human skin doesn't look right than it is with streets or walls? Maybe everything is just being over-lit, in which case I must be doing something wrong, but as far as I can tell I'm following the videos and readme step-by-step, so I don't know...
Just bought LDP-R recently and I like how it renders much quicker than the regular render engine. Was hoping you could help me with an issue I'm running into. When I try to render it sometimes moves and parents one of my figures (in this case LoREZ skeleton) into the LDP-R Custom Lights 1 group, then turns off LDP-R skydome, and then turns off all four of my Face Surround lights from Studio Light Pro 4.6.
Each of these lights are properly placed in one of the Custom Lights groups, and I have been able to make changes to my scene I've been working on this week and render with no problem. I ran the clear mats script in case there was an issue there. Also removed glowing eyes from the skeletons, in case that was the problem.
Here is my most recent successful render. The only changes I've made since then are removing the eyes from the skeletons, using the geometry editor to hide the beam above the elf, and switching the two skeletons in the background. I'm using the latest version of Daz Studio (4.9.2.70).
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I really like this tool and Studio Lights Pro 4.6!
Update 9/11/2016: I applied a different skin color and used the eye morphs again on the skeleton, and so far I'm able to render again with LDP-R! Maybe it was a glitch, but glad it's working again!
Nice renders. Anyone know if this will support Photoshop CC yet?
Is there a way to set directory of LDP-R. It always saves it to the default base directory
For example my default base directory is D:\Projects
But I'm currently working on a specific project called "A", so I want it to save it to D:\Projects\A\Renders\1
But there's not option to do that? Can anyone help?
I even tried reinstalling LDP-R, but the issue still persists. Anyone else experiencing this?
I've been using it in Photoshop CC 2015.5 for just a week or so and haven't run into any issues. I installed it manually rather than through DIM.
This is strange. I'm always prompted for a save location for each render, so I only experienced this when I accidentally hit DS's green render button instead of "Render LDP-R" under the Render menu.
I will have to try that method.
For whatever reason my DIM doesn't like my Photoshop or my Bryce. I always have to manually install. Luckily I'm used to PS stuff, and I only get Bryce stuff after I've forgotten how I installed it the last time.
Hello everybody,
few days ago, pushed by an offer with a 50% discount, I bought the "Ultimate DAZ Studio Lights" bundle (LDP-R + Studio Light Pro) that results as appear on products pages works with Daz Studio 4.10...everything fine till I tried to render trough LDP-R (all settings made like suggests the guide pdf)...after choose the folder for render nothing appens...if i try to load render-settings tha's possible to find in product folder I receive an error message that said me to read more about in the log file.
The log report says after "loading script"
WARNING: Script Error: Line 614
WARNING: ReferenceError: Can't find variable: sceneLights
WARNING: Stack Trace: <anonymous>()@C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Lybrary/dreamlight/ldp-r/render ldp-r.dse:614
Obviously I render always 3Delight (I'm a newbie in this amazing world...with my hardware I can't use Iray: AMD Athlon II X4 640, 8gb ram, ssd drive, Radeon HD5750 1gb). I also tried with my laptop and the story is the same.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Best Regards from Italy,
Marco
