Has this issue been solved yet?
I've had LDP-R for a while, but I hadn't gotten around to trying it yet. I thought it was about time to change that. :)
Looks awesome, thanks for sharing!
When I first installed Light Dome Pro there would be an option under the renders tab up top next to file, edit, create, tool, render> LDP R but it's not there any more, when I load it from the content window it resets all the settings... any idea what happened?
Did you update DAZ Studio or install any other plug in recently? Try re-installing LDP-R and see if that helps...
Go to Window > Workspace > Customize.
On the left, expand the Custom heading.
On the right, go to the Menus tab and expand Main Menu > Render.
Drag the "Render LDP-R" command from the left side under the Custom heading into the Render menu on the right.
Click Apply/Accept.
If you find that you have no Render LDP-R command, in DS on the Content Library tab, go to Daz Studio Formats > Library you installed LDP-R to > Dreamlight > LDP-R. Right click on the Render LDP-R icon and choose Create Custom Action.
That's awesome, thanks!

Np. I've upgraded my DS enough to have the process memorized from having to re-do my custom menus. lol
LOL
Has anyone used LDP-R with Photoshop Creative Cloud?

Thank you while doing this I found I had drag it to the custom actions... Thank you....
Echoing ropeman's question...
Anyone used this with Adobe Photoshop CC?
(After the time wasted on DAZ Studio 3D Bridge and CC, I don't really want to spend any money on something that might not work either)
TIA,
Susi xx

Yeah I do, it works swell as long as the images are opened in the correct order. Need help with something?
Hi bubbamacho,
Thank you very much for letting me (us) know.
And thank you again for the offer of help (even more so, if aimed at me?).
May I ask, what do you mean by, "as long as the images are opened in the correct order?"
Other than that, and being totally stressed out at work (because of this stuff), I'm OK atm. Thank you kindly.
My current issues with Studio stem from the disjointed/broken help system, but mostly I'm just struggling to work around the bugs in Studio and its plugins. I'm wasting so much time on this.
I've only really played with Studio until now, and that's been fine for doing quick mash-ups for fun using off-the-shelf content. But now I'm trying to produce quality renders and images, the busted bits are becoming a real pain (Help System, 3D Bridge broken for CC, 3Delight Deep Shadow Map Artefacts, etc.).
Oh boy. All I seem to do is moan on these forums! :)
BTW, I just LOVE the way you are listed as a "New Member" underneath your Forum Name, despite you having been a member for nearly eight years :D
I know it's just the way the forum titles are set up, by post-count total, but it still made me smile. :)
Best Wishes,
Susi xx
Well it was aimed at whoever asked if used in CC. LDP-R includes an action for combining the images that render when using the LDP-R render under Render options, it saves them by default to DAZ "my library", 0_fog.bmp, 1_Background.bmp, 02_ambient.bmp, 3_SkyBounce.bmp, 4_Sky.bmp, 5_SunBounce.bmp, 6_Sun.bmp, 7_Mix.bmp. You would have to open them in order from 0 to 7 while 7_mix should be the last image on your screen then you execute the LDP-R Combine action and it will set up one image with various layers where you can tweak the render... the save it as a jpg... it only works in Photoshop. I attached a screen capture in case this sounds confusing

Does it create a PSD or just a script to load the images?
You start off with 7 images you can see in the screen capture the 7 tabs. Once you run the LDP-r combine Actions (Script) it leaves you with one image and some layers, this image you can then save as a PSD to future postwork, or you can save it as a finalized image...
And I +1'd it as I use CC pretty much exclusively now, but 3D Bridge would have been really useful... had it actually worked.
So I was curious about LDP as well :)
And bubbamacho, thank you for explaining what you meant by the order of the images.
Regards,
Susi xx
Cool... Hope you can take full power over LDP-R as it is a great way to render...
Used LDP-R in another image. It's very handy for daytime outdoor images.
Maybe it has been said before (only checked the last few pages and did a search), but can this plugin do light rays? Lie thru fog, dust, etc..
So I decided to get LDP-R, had some issue with the install of the Photoshop action (I use CC) but everything is fine now.
I have been following the instructions from the manual but when I try to click on render -> Render LDP-R, nothing happens. No error message, nothing.
Any idea of what is going on?
EDIT:
looking at the log, I am getting this error:
Hi Alain,
Thanks for the clear problem description - makes my life much easier!
I suspect this has to something to do with the wrong script name being passed to the custom menu item.
Firstly can you check that it isn't a problem with LDP-R itself by doing this:
1) Load (or create) a LDP-R scene
2) Locate 'Render LDP-R.dse' in the Content Library Pane- it should be in your_daz_content_place->DreamLight->LDP-R
3) Double click on 'Render LDP-R'.
Things should happen. If they don't, the problem isn't what I think it is - post back with any relevant entries in the log file, and ignore the rest of this messsage,
4) In the bottom part of the content tab, click the 'Info' tab. Make a note of what is says for the path.
5) Press F3 to open up the 'Customise' pane
6) In the left side 'Actions' bit, click on the + next to 'Custom', left click on 'Render LDP-R' item, and select 'Edit custom action'
7) Check that what's in the 'File' box is the same as the 'path' in the content library info. If it is, once agin it's another problem.
8) If it's different (and I hope it is), click the 'browse' (three dots) button, and select the 'Render LDP-R.dse' file. Click 'Accept'
9) Click 'accept on the customise pane.
10) You should now be able to launch a render from Render->Render LDP-R in the menu.
Hope this helps - let me know what happens.
Hi,
tried what you said and nothing happens. When I click on the file, the screen goes to DAZ studio (BTW, I just upgraded to the latest version) but there is nothing else. It does not even add a line to the log file, which is pretty weird.
Thanks for the report.
I haven't updated Studio on my systems yet - an update might shed some light on the problem.
Tomorrow I'm busy with a niece's 18th birthday celebrations, so the earliest you can expect an update would be this time on Monday.
I'd like to apologise for the fact that you've got a non-functioning DreamLight product, and hope that it's caused by something Daz has done with Studio, and not my coding.
ok, thanks for the update.
Just to be clear, I had the same issue prior to my upgrade to the latest version so it does not look like it is related to a recent change made by DAZ.
Hi,
I'm thinking of getting the LDP-R and the Mastery tutorial for it. On the product page at DAZ it says bonus module coming soon for GIMP for the Mastery product.
Does anyone know if that's been added yet?
Thanks!
I havent tested it (I am on CC), but when after buying LDP-R, in DIM, there is a GIMP package. If that helps.
Apologies for the length of time it's took me to get back to you.
I tested LDP-R in both the previous and current versions of Studio (both 64 and 32 bit) and everything worked fine.
The only thing I could think was that I was using early development versions of the light dome objects instead of the release ones, so I contacted Walle, and got him to send me a release LDP-R installer.
After installing, I ran the tests again, and found that everything was working correctly.
This means I've no idea what the problem is, or how to fix it. The only thing I can think to try is uninstalling and then reinstalling the LDP-R package.
