Site down and malfunctioning

  • Well the site's definitely not totally back to normal.  Evidently it's not acknowledging that I'm a PC+ member.  All PC+ items are showing up as if I weren't a member, the forum thread for PC+ isn't showing and even in my account I only see one coupon code instead of 2.  My payments are recurring every 3 months and they just took the money a couple weeks ago so it isn't that it hasn't been paid or that it's been discontinued, it's just not there lol.

Hrm, the database was not affected by this at all so there isn't any reason that your account status should change. Try logging out and back in to the site and if that doesn't fix it, go ahead and contact support.

  • Thanks DAZ_Rawb, yeah the first thing I did was sign out and sign back in.  Just wasn't sure if it was just me or if this was an issue due to the recent troubles.  I'll try a couple other things then send a ticket if nothing works.  Thanks again.

Yep, it's definitely slowing down and crashing for me too, and I'm about to make a purchase...It already screwed up a sale purchase yesterday.

EDIT: It's been fluctuating but I was able to complete my purchase!wink

...all I can say is the forums have been as slow as molasses.  Just to get this thread to open up took a couple minutes of staring at a blank screen and a tab that said "connecting".  Lately as well, when I click "Post Comment" nothing happens for a while either.

Hmmm I've got products I have purchased NOT showing as 'available' for download in Connect. I've even tried searchign for them by name, as well as using all the filters available. The only one showing for download is the freebie "Confinement Cell"....but two of the new PC items plus teh other freebie are just not showing for download at all.

Daz Connect has a feature here for you, if you get logged in, go to the "Connect" menu option on the very top menu bar and select "Update Metadata", it will ask the server to double check it's list of what you own. My guess is during the slow times some messages of "person got a new product" got lost in the wind so the cache on the Daz Connect (and DIM) server side didn't get flushed for your user. The Daz Connect "Update Metadata" on the top bar lets you force the server to re-check if it has the latest list of owned products for you and get you the absolute freshest list from the store.

Thanks. I tried that, but no go. Actually I did it three times, just in case. And the three products still aren't showing in "available".

I still notice long load times here in the forums. Something is not quite right. And site needs optimization.

I am monitoring the site right now. If we exclude cached / static file requests it looks like our median response time on the server is at about 0.5 seconds, whereas typically it sits closer to 0.15 seconds. However, I am seeing a longer tail of response times in to the 1-1.5 second response times, with a small handful of requests digging in to the 3-4 second range. I am also looking on the response types that are being sent back and those still seem to be going great.

This slowdown is expected as we continue to run validation checks on the backend storage system as any request that needs to look at a file on the backend storage system will be slower than normal. My team and I will continue to monitor the servers this evening to make sure it doesn't get out of control.

P.S. Any recommendations on dog treats to make it up to my pups for not giving them an evening walk for a few nights in a row?

DAZ_Rawb, the three products that I purchased that are not showing in my Connect, don't have the connect files on their product pages. They are only showing the manual or the DIM download files. Perhaps that is the problem? Attached screenshot to show what I mean.

As for treats for your pups - nope. If my big pup doesn't get his walk, he goes absolutely ballistic and the pent up energy has him doing that "10pm Cat Craziness" around the house. The only thing that works is either his walk....or throwing the ball for him in the back yard. LOL.

No substitutions for walks. Dogs need them to go potty =-) I'd rather do without DAZ Website for a week than that any dog should suffer without their evening consitutional. I'm crazy about dogs. =-)

I WISH my dogs would go potty on their walks. I don the hazmat suit and gloves every two days and do the back yard to clean it. :sigh:

Have you tried pigs ears? As yuck as it might sound to us, the pigs ears I bought at PetSmart were a favorite treat of all my dogs. (All but one passed years ago, but I'm sure they're waiting for me on the other side.) They also liked the cow hooves, but pigs ears were their favorite.

If you would be so kind as to PM me the SKU of that product, my guess is there might be a file missing in the Daz Connect side of things that is triggering it not to show any Daz Connect files, after this validation is done I'll poke it in the database to get it to re-scan and it should pop up.

    Thanks for finding it.

The pups do still get their morning walk, so I'm not being too mean, but I am sure they will appreciate taste testing some of the suggestions you all have put out.

Thanks, Rawb. In cases like that, I bribe them with real raw beef and bone.

OT alert: Actually, in the southern United States, some PEOPLE eat pig's ears! Usually pickled, and they also eat pig's tails. Why, there is also the so-called delicacy of chitterlings (usually pronounced "chitlins") which are pig's intestines. I presume this is a carryover from slave times, and may be related to the idiom "eating high on the hog."

LOL... don't forget about pickled pigs feet! My dad actually bought some once. I don't recall if he ever ate them, but I have vivid memories of moving that jar to the back of the fridge!

Pig's feet, pig's knuckles, and chiterlings are all pretty tasty, when properly prepared. Although chiterlings are usually prepared and cooked outdoors, because they smell vile.
It's easy for "cultured" but ignorant people to make fun of Southern cooking because of the whole poor, stupid redneck false image thing. While eating their raw fish eggs, diseased waterfown liver, and the like.

Stereotypes are easy. They help people understand the world without having to think.

The pigs ears may be a bad idea.  My dog used to love them but we found he wasn't digesting them and he had like a glutinous mass of them in his stomach we had to get surgically removed. Granted he as not a big dog jus a small medium sized dog.

I am still having trouble downloading 28 items from the store.  I have successfully downloaded close to 4000 but these 28 are all saying download failed

I also have several recent purchases (from yesterday specifically) that are not showing up as available for install through DAZ Connect. I have checked the product pages and they indicate that they are available in that format, but not on my system. The products all show up in my account as being purchased and I can download them manually, but I don't want to have to uninstall them and re-install them when they finally show up in DAZ Connect. Sad now....

I just noticed jakiblue's post about the 'Rover Trailer', I have a problem with that same product. I tried to look at the screen shots attachments to see if there are any other matches but sadly they don't load either...

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

The rover trailer, the intersteller suit for G3f and the car roland add on weren't showing the "daz connect files" in my product library for them. I did PM the sku numbers to DAZ_Rawb as he requested, so I'm hoping he'll be able to fix those soon. As of this morning (about half hour ago) they still aren't showing as available to download in DS in connect (they do however show in DIM). And the daz connect files still aren't showing in my product library for them either.

    Thanks jakiblue!

Hopefully they will sort it out soon. I am about to make another purchase, I hope I don't have to wait for days to download it...
